Chapter 30 - A deal

Failing to establish his dominance at the Mayor's party, Singhania walked out in anger, and along with him, the mountain-like man who had come with him followed closely behind, throwing one last furious glance at everyone before stepping out.

"What happened, boss? Why did you suddenly rush out of the party like that?"

As soon as Singhania sat inside the car, the bulky man sitting beside him—his trusted aide, Shura—asked.

"His eyes, Shura… his eyes."

Singhania muttered, lost in thought, not even looking at him.

"What do you mean, sir?"

Shura asked, confused.

"There was no fear in that boy's eyes… not even a trace. Even after everything I said, he stood there like a mountain in front of the Mayor and Kathwani… like some warrior… like a protector."

Singhania spoke as if that image was still playing in front of him again and again.

"Don't worry, sir. I'll bring you that boy's head. You can relax."

Shura said, trying to please him.

"No… you can't do it, Shura. Even I felt uneasy seeing that fire in his eyes. There's something different about that boy. And as for killing him… no. I want him alive. His death is written in Jack's hands. But you… you won't be able to kill him. Just find out everything about him. As soon as possible."

Singhania said coldly.

Hearing this—and seeing his own boss doubt his capability—Shura felt a surge of anger rise inside him. He was not just any man; he was a walking death machine. Since the day Singhania had taken control of the city, it was Shura who had carried out his dirtiest work. Every task that couldn't be done legally… Shura handled it with bloodshed. In a way, he was Singhania's hidden strength. And today… the same boss had said, "You can't do it." That too… for a mere boy.

For a moment, his blood boiled.

But he controlled himself.

"What if… I bring you his arms and legs instead, boss?"

Shura said, a cunning smile forming on his face.

"If you can do that… you'll become the owner of 100 crores."

Singhania replied.

"150 crores."

Shura increased the price, his greed clear.

For a moment, Singhania just looked at him… then let out a breath.

"Fine. Deal. But the work must be done within ten days."

"Done. Just keep the money ready… I'll deliver his limbs."

Shura said with a smile.

Because of you, that boy made Singhania doubt me… now I'll destroy you in a way that even Singhania will tremble… start counting your last days, kid… your time is up.

Shura thought to himself, staring out of the car window, a dangerous smile spreading across his face.

Back at the Mayor's place, the party had ended. Everyone had left. Only the Kathwani family, the Mayor's family, and Om's family remained.

And now… the atmosphere had completely changed.

Every face carried the same thing—fear.

Fear of Singhania's threats.

"I think we should increase our security."

Mr. Kathwani suggested.

"Normal security won't be enough, Mr. Kathwani. We need something stronger. I'll arrange a Special Task Force for all of us."

The Mayor said seriously.

"Yes, Mayor sir, that would be better. No matter how dangerous Singhania's men are, they won't be able to get past a Special Task Force. That's a good plan."

Kathwani agreed.

"You don't need to do any of that anymore. They won't come after you now… their target is me. You just need to take care of yourselves."

Om finally spoke, looking at the Mayor.

Everyone turned toward him.

Sharda immediately panicked.

"No, Om! You won't take such risks, beta. The Mayor is right—we should call the Special Task Force. You've just started settling your life… I won't let anything happen to you. If… if something happens to you, how will I face your parents? How will I even pray to them? No… I won't let anything happen to you."

She said, holding his hand tightly, her voice trembling.

"Your Chachi is right. We are your parents now, Om beta. Before anyone even thinks of harming you… they'll have to face us first."

Vijay said, placing a hand on his shoulder.

Hearing this, Om's eyes softened.

"Mr. Vijay and his wife are absolutely right, Om. You've already faced enough struggles in life, and this enmity with Singhania… it's because of us. So we can't let you take such risks. You don't know him—he's a dangerous man. He destroys anyone who stands in his way. It's better you stay away from him. None of us want anything to happen to you, beta."

The Mayor added.

Om understood now… none of them were going to listen to him. And somewhere, he also felt that having a Special Task Force might actually keep everyone safer.

So… he didn't argue anymore.

He simply agreed.

But among all this… Anshika stood there, silent, yet deeply shaken.

Ever since she had heard the Mayor mention Om's past struggles, memories of her own mistakes kept coming back to her… along with everything Om had told her earlier.

And slowly… without her even realizing it—

Her feelings for him… grew deeper.
