Chapter 31 - The Hunt Begins

Om, Soumya, and Riya were sitting in the car. Om was dropping the two of them off—one at school, the other at college.

"So… big brother, did you like that girl yesterday… hmm?"

Soumya asked, eyes sparkling with excitement as she leaned forward.

"Uh… which… which girl?"

Om replied, pretending he had no idea.

"Oh come on… the girl you went to meet alone at the party… Anshika."

Riya chimed in from the backseat, clearly enjoying this.

"Oh, her? Come on, we just went to talk. Nothing like 'liking' happened."

Om said casually, trying to brush it off.

Soumya narrowed her eyes at him.

"Seriously, big brother… you are so unromantic. At this rate, no girl is ever going to fall for you. Now I get it—how are you still single despite being so handsome? You seriously need to fix this."

Om looked at her, completely confused.

"What do you mean unromantic? I'm telling you, we just talked."

Soumya sighed dramatically.

"My dear innocent brother… going to talk to a girl alone means you're supposed to impress her, get to know her, build something. Otherwise tell me—why would Mom push you so much to meet her?"

From the backseat, Riya puffed up with pride.

"Even kids my age know this much. You should've just asked me, I would've taught you everything."

Om shook his head, trying not to laugh.

"You two little troublemakers… more focused on this nonsense than your studies, huh? Just wait, I'll tell uncle and aunty everything this evening. Let's see how brave you are then."

He teased them.

"Hmph! You don't even have a heart, big brother. We're helping you and you want us punished?"

Riya said, puffing her cheeks.

Om glanced at her and almost laughed out loud.

"Look at this one… so clever. At an age meant for poems and songs, she's already talking about love. Kids these days… seriously advanced."

All three of them burst out laughing.

But as the laughter echoed inside the car, Om's eyes casually drifted to the side mirror—

And just like that, his smile faded.

A car was following them.

At first, he ignored it. But something felt off. Just to be sure, he took a sudden turn.

The car behind took the same turn.

Om's grip on the steering wheel tightened.

He took another turn.

Again… the same car followed.

Now there was no doubt.

Someone was tailing them.

And deep down, Om already knew who it could be… and who had sent them.

Without reacting, he kept driving straight until the car entered the crowded city traffic. Within seconds, both cars were swallowed by the chaos—and separated.

For now.

The car chasing Om belonged to Shura… and his men.

"Don't lose that car… or you'll lose your life."

Shura growled at his driver.

"I want that boy's head today. No excuses. If you fail… you might as well cut off your own."

But before they could react—

Om's car vanished.

"Where did it go?! It was just here… how did it disappear so fast?!"

Shura snapped, scanning the road in frustration.

What he didn't know was—

The moment a narrow turn appeared, Om had swiftly slipped into a small alley, disappearing like a ghost.

He didn't waste a second.

Driving fast, sharp, and precise, he dropped his sisters safely at their centers.

Meanwhile, Shura and his men were tearing through the streets, searching.

"Where the hell did that bastard go?! He vanished in the blink of an eye!"

Shura shouted, anger boiling over.

Just then—

A black car appeared ahead.

Shura's eyes lit up.

"There it is. Looks like fate has already written pain for this boy today. Good… let's see how he escapes me now."

He leaned back in his seat, a cruel smile spreading across his face.

What he didn't realize—

Om was smiling too.

Om drove ahead, calm… almost too calm.

After a while, he led them out of the city—towards a small forest on the outskirts.

Shura and his men followed without hesitation.

The chase continued for a few minutes inside the forest—

Until suddenly…

Om stopped his car in an open clearing.

The engine went silent.

"Why did he stop here?"

Shura muttered, scanning the deserted area.

They were deep inside the forest now. No people. No witnesses. No easy way in or out.

One of his men smirked.

"Who knows, boss… but this works in our favor. We can finish him easily here. No one will even find out."

Shura nodded.

"You're right. So what now? Planning to sit here and stare at his car? Everyone—get down."

The doors opened.

Men stepped out.

And just then—

They saw him.

A boy in a black T-shirt and pants stepped out of the car.

Om.

He walked to the front… stood still… and leaned casually against the trunk.

Then—

He smiled.

Right at them.

"What is he doing, boss?"

The driver asked, confused.

Even Shura was puzzled at first.

But the moment his eyes locked onto Om's smile—

Something clicked.

His expression changed.

Eyes widened.

"He's… warning us?"

Shura said slowly, disbelief in his voice.

"Warning us?!" one of the men burst out laughing. "Is this guy crazy?"

The rest joined in.

"Looks like the kid watched too many South movies and started thinking he's a hero. Standing like this in front of so many men… impressive."

Shura chuckled, a dark, villainous grin spreading across his face.

"But before he dies… he'll learn how people beg for death."

He paused, staring at Om.

"I still can't believe Singhania put a price of 150 crores on him. And was actually afraid of this innocent-looking boy…"

Shura's smile grew wider.

But Om didn't move.

Didn't speak.

Didn't flinch.

He just stood there…

Smiling.

Like he knew something they didn't.
