Chapter 647: Founding the Anti‑Yuan Alliance
"Brother Langtian won!"
Su Rou and the others couldn't hold back their delighted cries, though their eyes still shone with disbelief.
They had seen Lu Feng's power with their own eyes—strong enough to defeat even their Palace Master. To watch such a foe fall before Lin Langtian felt like waking from a nightmare.
At last, Nine Heavens Taixuan Palace's crisis could be lifted.
Beside them, Ling Qingzhu's tightly clenched hands finally relaxed. Her palms were slick with sweat.
"Grand Elder, are you all right?"
Three beams of light flashed to Lu Feng's side. The elders stared at his wound in shock, voices tight with worry.
Lu Feng ground his teeth and shook his head, then flung out a hand with a roar.
"All Yuan Gate disciples, hear me—slaughter Nine Heavens Taixuan Palace!"
"You three, help me pin down that brat!"
He shot a glance at the remaining three elders. Having suffered once already, he no longer dared face Lin Langtian alone.
"Yes!"
The Yuan Gate disciples' eyes flared with black light as they answered.
Murderous intent boiled off them like steam as they surged forward again toward the battered Nine Heavens disciples.
Ling Qingzhu's face hardened with chill resolve as she readied herself—
But in the sky, Lin Langtian simply smiled.
His hand swept down. His calm voice flowed over the battlefield.
"The people of Yuan Gate have been devoured by demonic qi. Kill them all."
Swish, swish, swish!
Even as his words faded, sharp whistles ripped through the air.
Several streaks of light appeared above the Nine Heavens ranks.
"A bunch of vermin, crawling into bed with Otherworldly Demons. Death is too kind a fate for you."
The newcomers' auras crashed outward like thunder, sleeves flicking as vast curtains of Yuan Power unfolded, wrapping every Nine Heavens disciple in protective light.
"What terrifying strength… are those all Heavenly Palace experts?"
Su Rou stared upward, awed. Every presence felt as strong as their late Palace Master had been.
"Some of them are strangers—likely not from the Eastern Xuan Region. They must be experts Langtian brought back." Ling Qingzhu murmured, brows knitting briefly.
Swish, swish!
The reinforcements were Jin Wu, U Xuan, Commander Jin Sha, and the others who had followed Lin Langtian.
Their gazes swept once over the Yuan Gate disciples, then Yuan Power surged as they lashed out.
Each casual palm strike was an avalanche. The onrushing Yuan Gate army was flung back en masse, unable to advance even a single step.
"This—"
Lu Feng and his elders went pale at the sight.
They stared past Lin Langtian at the line of terrifying figures behind him, dread rising in their chests.
"Grand Elder, he brought so many monsters with him…" one elder whispered.
Every aura they sensed stank of danger.
Lu Feng's eyes twitched as his expression ran through several shades.
Then he bit down hard.
"Retreat!"
"Lin Langtian, just you wait. When our three Sect Masters emerge, Heavenly Palace will be erased!"
He hurled the threat over his shoulder and turned to flee, not even bothering to cover his disciples' retreat.
"Leaving so soon?"
Lin Langtian's tone was almost amused.
"For what, after coming all this way?"
He raised his right hand slowly. Gold flared from his palm, condensing into a dragon claw.
With a roar, the claw swelled to a size of several thousand zhang, radiating crushing pressure. Even Reincarnation experts felt as if a mountain had settled over their shoulders.
Boom, boom!
Lu Feng and his three remaining elders blanched. Desperate attacks exploded from them, but the golden claw tore through their efforts as if they were paper.
"Save us, Sect Masters!"
As the dragon claw crashed down, Lu Feng finally felt true fear. His shout cracked with panic.
Boom!
The sky warped violently.
A gigantic black hand burst out of nothingness, smashing straight through the dragon claw before reaching for Lu Feng and the others.
"So you finally couldn't hold back, old dog of Yuan Gate."
At the sight of the hand, Lin Langtian's gaze sharpened. His voice turned to ice.
He shot forward like a bolt, golden light erupting from his body.
Enormous kun wings unfurled at his back as pure Dragon Kun might flooded the heavens.
"Roar!"
Dragon cries and kun calls shook the air as he vanished in a blur.
An instant later, a golden dragon claw slammed into the black hand.
Boom!
The impact thundered across the sky, audible even hundreds of li away.
Under the force of Lin Langtian's strike, the black hand shattered.
The backlash swept out in a howling storm that flung Lu Feng and his elders like leaves in a gale.
They coughed blood mid‑flight, dropping to the brink of death.
"Lin Langtian, you traitorous wretch!"
The unseen presence snarled, voice echoing from the collapsing space.
"You have some skill. If you dare, come to Yuan Gate. I'll be waiting."
The rescuer's aura vanished without another attempt to help.
"Oh? So that was Di Yuánzi, then…"
Lin Langtian's lip curled.
"Fine. Wait there like a good dog."
"Kill!"
Below, the battle cries rose again.
The Nine Heavens disciples surged after the retreating Yuan Gate forces.
Without their elders and leaders, Yuan Gate's troops crumbled.
Panic shredded their formation as Nine Heavens blades cut them down. Screams soon drowned out all else.
By the time the slaughter ended, mountains of bodies littered the ground. A scattering of survivors fled in abject terror, their earlier savagery nowhere to be seen.
"Brother Langtian!"
Su Rou waved wildly as he descended, cheeks flushed with excitement.
He landed before her with a faint smile.
"You're not hurt, are you?" she asked, circling once to inspect him before finally relaxing.
"I'm fine. Lu Feng never had the power to injure me." he said lightly.
His gaze drifted over the ruined palace.
"Your Palace Master?"
"Master has passed."
Sorrow darkened Ling Qingzhu's eyes. "The elders are all gravely wounded as well. Nine Heavens Taixuan Palace has been gutted."
Lin Langtian exhaled softly.
"This time… on behalf of all our disciples, I thank you." she said quietly.
"There's no need. With what lies between us, this is only right."
The words landed like stones in a still pond.
A blush crept across Ling Qingzhu's usually cool face. She bit her lip and lowered her head, gaze skittering away.
Said so bluntly, in front of everyone, it was far too suggestive.
"You went to the Great Yan Empire? The clan leader told me he'd met you."
Seeing her embarrassment, Lin Langtian changed the subject with a small smile.
She nodded calmly—or tried to. A faint pink still tinged her fair cheeks.
"I had business there… and stopped by the Lin clan on the way."
Her voice was steady, but the hint of rawness in her eyes betrayed her. Even she knew that excuse was flimsy.
"It seems my old room is the only guest room left. Otherwise, I doubt you'd have chosen that one…"
Before he could finish, a slim hand clamped over his mouth.
Ling Qingzhu glared at him, cheeks blazing.
The warning in her eyes was clear enough: finish that sentence, and pay the price.
Her heart pounded.
She had stayed in his old room on a whim, wanting to know him better.
She had slept in his bed, beneath his blankets, breathing in the fading trace of his scent.
Remembering it now, she wanted to strangle her past self.
If he repeated any of it in public, her carefully‑maintained image would crumble overnight, and the "Immortal Fairy" of Nine Heavens would become little more than a lovesick girl in her disciples' eyes.
"Ahem. Since it was on your way, we'll leave it at that."
Seeing her panic, Lin Langtian let the matter drop, smiling faintly.
For the sake of Fairy Qingzhu's dignity, he would not bare the rest.
She released a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding, then shot him a sideways glare that nearly melted the surrounding air.
Around them, Su Rou and the other disciples could only stare.
Their aloof Young Palace Mistress, cold and untouchable like a goddess above the clouds, was bickering softly with a man.
For the first time, they truly understood what it meant for an immortal to descend to the mortal world.
"What will you do next?"
Sensing the growing stares, Ling Qingzhu coughed lightly and slipped back into her usual cool composure.
Lin Langtian stretched lazily, exhaling a long breath.
"Since I'm back… it's time to settle everything."
"How?" she asked. There was blood in his tone now, a raw edge beneath the calm.
He tilted his head back, looking up at the blood‑red sunset.
"In three days, we'll end it with Yuan Gate once and for all."
"So soon? Isn't that too rushed?"
Her brows drew together.
He shook his head.
"Yuan Gate's spent its strength. They don't have the initiative to attack anymore.
"Tian Yuanzi and his cronies are cunning. At a time like this, they'll turtle up and wait.
"That's exactly why we have to strike first—to wipe them out and end the Eastern Xuan Region's chaos."
His eyes flashed with killing light, though his voice remained as even as ever.
The Nine Heavens disciples around them shivered.
Most forces had chosen to hunker down and endure, waiting out Yuan Gate's wrath.
Yet Lin Langtian wanted to march straight to their gates.
And strangely, with him at their head, no one wanted to shrink away.
They had lost too much—friends, mentors, a Palace Master. The hatred churning in their chests demanded blood.
"If that's your plan, we shouldn't delay." Ling Qingzhu said. "But Yuan Gate's war has swept the entire region.
"Most of the other super sects have been destroyed—but not utterly. Many of their experts escaped the purge.
"If Heavenly Palace takes the lead, flying the banner of Yuan Gate's destruction, those survivors will rally.
"They've already paid in blood. With a single call, we can bind them to our side and turn all of that hatred against Yuan Gate.
"Then it won't be you alone declaring war—it will be the entire Eastern Xuan Region."
Lin Langtian regarded her with a trace of surprise.
It was a ruthless solution—striking at Yuan Gate's foundations by uniting everyone they had ever wronged.
He smiled.
"Then spread the word. Summon the strong from every corner of the Eastern Xuan Region.
"We'll form an Anti‑Yuan Alliance. Three days from now, we and Yuan Gate will decide life and death."
…
News of the Anti‑Yuan Alliance swept across the Eastern Xuan Region in a matter of hours.
At first, many dismissed it as rumor.
But once the message was confirmed, the land erupted.
Hidden powerhouses burst from seclusion across every province and empire, hurtling through the sky toward Heavenly Palace.
On every face burned the same flame: hatred of Yuan Gate.
The heavens grew crowded with streaks of light over the next two to three days, all converging on Heavenly Palace from every direction.
A tide of vengeance rose silently, wrapping the entire Eastern Xuan Region in its shadow.
