The monitor blinked three times.
The woman in the factory office stopped smiling at Vincent and leaned toward the screen. Her fingers moved across the keyboard, quick and irritated, until a map spread across the display.
Vincent stayed by the door. "Tell me what changed, because your face says this is either useful or about to waste my afternoon."
"The military is moving shard users," she said. "Three of them just separated from the main cluster, and that makes them easier to watch than the ones buried under base shielding."
Red dots sat on the map in uneven groups. One dense cluster remained near the military facility. Three smaller points drifted away from it in formation, tagged by her software but not named.
Vincent stepped behind her chair. "Are you sure one of those points belongs to Elara Cross?"
"Sure enough to be annoying, not sure enough to bet my hair on it," she said. "Their concealment is getting better around the base, but transit always leaves seams."
