Chapter 26: The Terrifying Chidori
Yoruha smiled. "Maybe I'm just more interested in this kind of ninjutsu, so my comprehension is a bit better."
Of course Kakashi didn't believe that.
After all, Chidori had an A-rank learning difficulty, and not an ordinary A-rank at that.
Lightning Release ninjutsu was already harder to learn than other nature transformations, and when he had first developed Chidori, he hadn't been very old.
So many of the theories involved were extremely complicated.
Even for him, understanding it back then hadn't been easy.
Yet Yoruha had understood it after hearing it once. Not only had he understood it, he was also extremely familiar with the details of the jutsu.
He had even simplified many of the steps. Kakashi felt that was absolutely not something that could be explained by merely "slightly better comprehension."
Still, Kakashi was also delighted.
Yoruha was like a bottomless treasure vault.
He would always surprise him.
Coming back to himself, Kakashi said, "I'll demonstrate exactly how to activate this technique for you."
"Watch carefully. This technique is very dangerous. A single mistake can lead to very serious consequences."
Yoruha nodded. Of course he knew how dangerous this technique was. It was an A-rank ninjutsu, after all.
Kakashi walked over to a giant boulder more than two meters tall.
The rocks by the lake were all very hard and not so easy to shatter.
Kakashi stood in front of the boulder.
His gaze sharpened, and his hand curled into a claw.
Chakra instantly gathered in his palm.
Crackle—
In an instant, several blue arcs of electricity appeared in Kakashi's hand.
The Chakra had already condensed into tangible form, and more and more blue arcs gathered together.
In the blink of an eye, they turned into streaks of lightning like writhing serpents, rumbling loudly.
The terrifying arcs reduced the fallen leaves around Kakashi to ash.
At that moment, Kakashi seemed to stand within thunder itself, the constantly trembling arcs writhing like snakes whose bodies had been seized and restrained.
Yoruha, standing to one side, was stunned by the sight.
Since coming to this world, this was the first time he had seen such a terrifying ninjutsu.
The horror of Chidori far exceeded what he had imagined.
The dense lightning even lit up the surrounding area for dozens of meters.
Even standing more than ten meters away from Kakashi, Yoruha could feel the hair all over his body standing on end, his scalp tingling as if his hair might rise straight up.
Looking at this terrifying scene, Yoruha swallowed hard.
For the first time, he truly experienced the terror of an Elite Jonin.
And all of this had happened in the blink of an eye.
Kakashi had gathered the lightning instantly.
Its scream was like a thousand birds crying out at once—if anything, even more terrifying.
"Lightning Release·Chidori."
Crack—boom rumble...
With Kakashi's low murmur, he transformed into an afterimage, a flash streaking across the air.
Kakashi appeared dozens of meters away, while the giant boulder in front of him had already been blasted into rubble. Countless fragments flew everywhere, the explosion echoed through the valley, and ripples spread across the once-calm surface of the lake.
Yoruha froze. By then he had already leaped dozens of meters away.
Even so, he could still feel the terrifying power of the jutsu.
"Too terrifying. Is this the power of an A-rank ninjutsu?"
"It's unbelievably frightening. Hard to believe this was developed by a twelve-year-old boy."
Yoruha now completely understood just how much weight the word "genius" carried for Kakashi.
To have developed such a terrifying jutsu at twelve—he truly deserved the title.
After using Chidori, Kakashi straightened up and shook out his hand.
Seeing Yoruha standing dozens of meters away,
he smiled. "You're pretty fast. Well? Did you see it clearly?"
"Do you want me to demonstrate it again?"
Kakashi had already grown used to the power of this jutsu.
Yoruha, on the other hand, was deeply shocked, because its power was far greater than he had remembered.
It could be said that within dozens of meters of the center of impact, Chidori's destructive force would still affect everything.
And that was only the aftershock. One could imagine how hopeless it would feel to be struck by the main body of the technique.
If an ordinary person were hit, their body would probably be torn into pieces.
Coming back to his senses, Yoruha jumped down from the tree.
Just now, worried about being caught in the blast, the instant Kakashi attacked, he had used Body Flicker Technique to move to a tree dozens of meters away.
Looking at the boulder that had been shattered into chunks, Yoruha sighed. "The power of this ninjutsu is way too terrifying."
"That's why it consumes a huge amount of Chakra too. An ordinary Chunin would probably run out of Chakra after using it once," Kakashi explained.
Yoruha nodded.
Kakashi asked, "So? Have you gained any insight?"
Yoruha closed his eyes. When he opened them again, a bright gleam flashed through them.
Although this jutsu was complicated,
Yoruha already knew how to use it.
He looked at Kakashi and nodded.
Kakashi paused, then shook his head with a bitter smile.
"That makes sense. This technique may be difficult for others, but for you, maybe it isn't that hard."
"Practice this technique today. If you have any questions, you can ask me."
Kakashi walked to the side and leaned against a tree, watching Yoruha.
He was going to observe Yoruha's training from there.
Yoruha walked over to another giant boulder.
There were plenty of stones like that by the lake.
Kakashi's eyes stayed fixed on Yoruha.
He wanted to know whether Yoruha could learn it tonight.
Yoruha himself didn't know whether he could.
But he felt as if he had already completely grasped the essentials of the jutsu.
He even had the strange feeling that he had mastered this technique for decades and was extremely familiar with it.
Yoruha naturally didn't say that out loud. He thought it might just be an illusion.
Standing before the boulder,
Yoruha began gathering Chakra into his right hand.
In just an instant,
the Chakra in Yoruha's body condensed into his right hand.
Suddenly, a sharp cracking sound rang out.
Crackle—
Without warning, dozens of lightning bolts as thick as arms gathered around Yoruha, far thicker than the lightning Kakashi had just condensed.
The lightning Kakashi had summoned earlier had only been about as thick as chopsticks, while the lightning around Yoruha was actually as thick as an adult's arm.
And the color of the lightning was completely different. The lightning Yoruha condensed was actually gold.
That left Kakashi, standing not far away, utterly dumbfounded.
"Th-this... what's going on? How can Yoruha be condensing this kind of Chakra?"
Yoruha's Chakra was completely different from that of ordinary ninja.
If an ordinary ninja's Chakra condensed into tangible form, it would be blue.
But the Chakra Yoruha condensed was actually gold.
As a result, when that Chakra transformed into lightning, it was golden as well.
Even more terrifying, the lightning Yoruha condensed made only a faint crackling sound.
It completely lacked the sharp shrieking hiss of a normal Chidori.
And even stranger, those golden arcs of electricity moved as though alive, slithering around Yoruha like giant pythons at incredible speed.
Bzzz—
Yoruha didn't notice that the Chidori he had condensed was different from Kakashi's.
At that moment, his entire focus was fixed on the giant boulder several meters away.
