It felt like a slap across the face. Humiliation could not even describe what I felt. She did not care for my status nor what I meant to her Alpha. She laughed. Laughed at me. Laughed at my hard work. Did she know how long it took me to finally get Arthur to speak to me? Let alone trust me?
Without thinking, I walked towards her. I had no idea what I would do, but my mind blinded with rage could not think of anything that seemed close to logic. It stung. It made me feel weak. Useless.
