Chapter 604 - Chapter 604: Back to the Scrap World

Crossing the boundary of the Milky Way, Noah and Fat Thor arrived at Planet Sakaar.

They picked a random spot that looked like a scrapyard and landed their ship.

To be fair, the entire planet looked like one massive scrapyard.

In Noah's memory, Sakaar was located in the Tayo star system of the Fornax galaxy. The natives were brutally barbaric, locked in constant war.

None of that mattered to him.

What caught his attention was the overwhelming spatial energy saturating this universe.

He had never felt anything like it on Earth.

Strictly speaking, Earth's spatial structure was extremely stable.

Even on a galactic scale, wormholes were rare.

Looking into the distance, he saw a massive mushroom-cloud-like structure-the place nicknamed "The Devil's Anus."

It was the largest wormhole on the planet, perhaps even in the universe.

Despite its size, it was astonishingly stable, as if sealed off by some unknown force that prevented its energy from spilling onto the planet.

That power protected Sakaar from the spatial torrent.

It didn't, however, stop idiots from jumping into it.

If someone charged in blindly, the outcome was usually ugly.

Unfortunately, Noah happened to be standing next to one such idiot.

Still, fools had their own kind of luck.

With the Grandmaster's high-end ship, Thor had passed through without any issues.

"I can't believe I'm back. I'll never forget this place." Looking at the wreckage around them, Fat Thor let out a long sigh.

"I know you already know what happened, but I still have to say it. This place left a deep impression on me. I actually became a slave in this dump. Can you believe it?"

"Why not?" Noah punched his shoulder and spread his hands. "It's barbaric. Nothing surprising."

Then he looked at him.

"So what's the plan now? I'm not just talking about Valkyrie. What about the rulers of this planet?"

The question was direct.

He was asking whether they should settle old scores.

Noah disliked this place.

In his eyes, it was nothing more than a slave camp.

Everyone trapped here existed solely to entertain the so-called upper class.

Winners got luxury and food.

Losers died.

There was nothing to like.

On top of that, Noah wanted to find that damn Gandalf, mess with him if possible, and maybe grab some more Mithril.

If he couldn't find him, fine.

But he wanted to finish things quickly and leave time for free exploration.

Fat Thor's eyebrows twitched.

He hated Sakaar too and agreed in principle.

But there was a problem he couldn't ignore.

Korg the Kronan and Miek the insectoid were still locked in the slave pens.

If they moved recklessly, the slave masters could use the slaves as shields.

His old friends might be forced to fight them.

Even Valkyrie could end up on the opposite side.

"About that concern..." Noah smiled with clear disdain.

"You think they actually stand a chance? A top-tier sorcerer and a warrior like you, and you're worried about this?"

"We can't take risks, man." Fat Thor took a deep breath.

"In that universe, they came to save us. They stopped Hela from killing us. And it was their ship that saved us from Surtur and Hela destroying each other."

He clearly wasn't willing to gamble.

That annoyed Noah.

But after a moment, he understood.

If their positions were reversed, he wouldn't risk it either.

That left an awkward stalemate.

Rubbing his brow, Noah gave in.

They were already in this dump.

Staying a little longer wouldn't kill him.

Coming here was annoying.

Leaving would be easy.

"No problem." Noah nodded, his tone sour. "Operation: Rescue Mission. I'm in. Let's get it done. After that, I still have to meet your sister."

"I heard about that." Fat Thor's eyes lit up. "My mother said you wanted my help?"

He didn't even know what an "Operation" was, but the mention of his sister excited him.

"That's a perfect idea. I'm more than happy to help."

"Of course." Noah smiled. "Facing the one who slaughtered so many Asgardians and took your eye, you'd want revenge."

"But this universe is different. We probably can't kill her."

"We just beat her until she remembers who she is."

"Piece of cake." Fat Thor patted his belly confidently. "I'm good at fighting."

"I'm Thor, the God of Thunder. I'm never afraid of a fight. And I won't accidentally kill anyone."

They walked forward, chatting casually.

Before long, something felt off.

The farther they went, the more desolate the surroundings became.

There were no signs of civilization.

Worse, groups of savages kept ambushing them.

It was irritating.

"Are you sure you know the way?" Noah asked, clearly annoyed.

They were completely lost.

"Didn't you say to just follow the mushroom cloud?" Fat Thor scratched his head.

Seeing Noah's expression darken, he spoke honestly.

"Sorry. I really don't remember. I was captured right after landing. When I woke up, I was already on a ship. I-"

Enough.

Noah realized his mistake.

Fat Thor had been taken out instantly the moment he arrived on Sakaar.

He'd been unconscious all the way to the Grandmaster's palace.

Expecting him to navigate was foolish.

Noah glared at him, then turned his attention elsewhere.

He decided to grab a local and ask for directions.

With Thor around, language wouldn't be a problem.

Finding one was easy.

The savages kept throwing themselves at them.

Fat Thor didn't even need to move.

Annoyed, Noah decided to teach them a lesson.

There was a reason you didn't piss off a sorcerer.

A mage was always a mage.

With a surge of magic, the attackers were shattered into spatial fragments, erased into nothing.

Only one was left alive.

He stared in horror.

He had never seen anything so terrifying.

Noah didn't bother finishing him.

Fat Thor stepped forward, questioned the man, and got the route they needed.

"You sure you don't want to kill him?" Noah asked as they followed the path.

"He's useless."

"Why not just end him?"

"They're just miserable people," Fat Thor sighed.

"Under the Grandmaster's rule, they lost their homes and food. They fled here to survive. For them, it's either be a savage or be a slave."

"For freedom?" Noah shrugged. "How noble."

"Suit yourself. But mercy doesn't save them. Sometimes it just makes them die faster. He has no brothers left. He won't survive alone."

"Valkyrie understands this far better than you."

"I know." Fat Thor smiled.

"I know my flaws. That's why I let go."

"Otherwise, I wouldn't have made her the new King of Asgard."

"She's kind-hearted, but decisive. A real leader."

He wasn't avoiding the topic.

He spoke openly.

Noah respected that.

Some of his choices would've given Odin a heart attack.

But they weren't wrong.

Fat Thor lacked decisiveness, and losing everything had crushed his fighting spirit.

Stepping aside and handing things over to the right person had been the correct choice.

The Thor of this universe was luckier.

He had Valkyrie.

He had a Loki who didn't cause trouble.

And after spending time with Noah, plus Odin's careful guidance, he was far more decisive than this version.

They continued walking, chatting, dealing with a few more savages along the way.

Before long, the Grandmaster's city came into view.

But just as they were about to enter, a ship flew overhead.

Fat Thor froze.
