Thomas Fisher's mind was calculating furiously, but Alice Turner had her own thoughts. After work, she wanted to do something that she didn't want him to know about or be involved in.
"My hand is much better now. Driving is totally fine, I'll just be careful." To prove her point, she waved her injured left hand in front of him.
"What do you mean it's much better? Are you a doctor? Before the stitches come out, pay attention." Thomas Fisher had no hesitation in denying Alice Turner's statement. "I'll pick you up after work. That's settled. Now hurry up and get to work, or you'll be late."
Not only did he deny her claim, but he also urged her to get out of the car quickly. God knows how much he hoped she'd delay getting out.
"If you don't mind my car embarrassing you, Mr. Fisher, go ahead and drive it," Alice Turner shot a glance at the man urging her to get out, opened the car door, and got out without saying goodbye, striding into the company without looking back.
This girl!
