Raviel's POV:
I walked through the hallway, laughing internally.
Teasing Roy is so much fun, I let out a quiet giggle.
I stopped in front of my friend's office.
Without hesitation, I pushed the door open and rushed in.
"William, how are—"
I stopped mid-sentence.
"…Mrs. Carrie?"
She was… choking someone?
Her attention wasn't on me, but on someone else—someone invisible.
He… or maybe she? Invisible?
I don't know how she can sense an invisible person, but… whatever.
"Who are you?" Carrie demanded angrily. "Why have you snuck into my husband's office?"
There she goes again… I thought. She's terrifying when she's angry. I experienced that personally yesterday.
"What is going on here?"
William's voice came from behind as he stepped into the room.
"Ah, William," I said, regaining my composure. "Looks like someone snuck into your office."
"Hm?"
William glanced between Carrie and the invisible figure.
"Carrie, you can put him down," he said calmly. "He's my brother... Wayne, didn't I tell you to enter properly?"
"…Brother-in-law?" Carrie's expression shifted in surprise as she released her grip.
"I'm sorry. I can't sense magic properly, so I didn't realize it was you."
A swirl of black mist gathered... and revealed a man.
"Ugh… my back… my neck…" he groaned. "It's fine, Sister-in-law. I didn't expect my magic to be discovered so quickly. I planned to surprise William… but I ended up being the one surprised."
Carrie quietly left the room.
"Ah, Raviel, what's up?" William finally turned to me.
Everyone's attention shifted in my direction.
"Uhh… I just came to talk about Roy," I said, scratching my head. "But I got caught up in this mess instead."
"Speaking of Roy," Wayne said with a grin, "I just met him earlier. He's grown quite a bit… and…"His grin widened."He saw through my disguise."
"…Saw through your disguise?" William asked.
"Yes."
"Besides that…" William narrowed his eyes slightly. "Wayne, did you come here just to mess with us?"
"No," Wayne smirked. "There's something else as well."
Carrie returned, placing tea on the table.
"Let's sit and talk," she said calmly. "Shall we?"
