One of his hands resting casually against it, and for a second, I just paused.
He looked… good, no, more than good.
He was dressed in a perfectly tailored suit that fit him so well it almost looked effortless, and there was something about the way he carried himself that made everything about him stand out without trying too hard.
It was the kind of quiet confidence that did not need attention but got it anyway.
For a moment, I forgot to move.
And then he looked up.
Our eyes met, and something shifted again.
He did not look away.
In fact, he kept staring, not in a strange way, not in a way that made me uncomfortable, but in a way that made me suddenly very aware of myself.
Of the dress.
Of the effort I had put in.
Of everything.
I felt my smile grow a little as I started walking toward him, my heels clicking softly against the ground, and even as I got closer, his gaze did not waver.
If anything, it deepened.
