I didn't even realize when sleep took over. One moment, I was on the couch, my thoughts still tangled around Aaron, the letter, and that one decision I couldn't make, and the next moment, everything just went quiet.
Then I felt it.
A light touch on my cheek.
Another one.
And then soft giggles.
My eyes opened slowly, still heavy with sleep, and the first thing I saw was two very familiar faces hovering way too close to mine.
Hanith and Jasmine.
Both of them were trying so hard not to laugh, their lips pressed together, their eyes shining with mischief.
"What are you two doing?" I asked, my voice still thick with sleep.
That was all it took. They burst out laughing so loudly and uncontrollably.
I frowned, sitting up slowly, and that was when I noticed the markers in their hands.
My heart dropped slightly.
"Oh no…" I muttered, already having a bad feeling.
Jasmine pointed at my face, laughing even harder. "Mommy, you look funny!"
