~Katherine's POV
My body wanted to scream, to run, to check every corner of the city, but I knew that would do nothing. I could barely breathe, barely think, and yet my mind raced nonstop. I pictured them hiding somewhere, scared, calling for me, or worse… that someone would hurt them.
I didn't know what to believe anymore.
Everything felt like it was falling apart.
We returned to the station again, and this time, they sat me down.
"Madam, you need to calm down so we can ask you some questions," one of the officers said.
"I am calm," I said, though my voice was shaking badly. "Just find my children… please…"
I sat there, still trembling, as the police started questioning me, their voices calm but firm. They asked if I had noticed anything strange lately, like someone following me secretly, or anyone acting suspiciously near the house. I shook my head, wiping my tears, trying to gather my thoughts. "No… nothing like that," I whispered.
