Sophia walked slowly to the door, wishing that Erik should leave if he found no response, but before reaching out to the door handle, the door was opened. Her heart stopped for a bit, while she closed her eyes In regret. Why will he choose to come at this time, she was not even ready to face him.

Huh? Sophia shot her eyes open at the sound of the feminine voice, before composing herself. "Yes. I woke up not quite long ago."

The serving maid looked at sophia in awe, because none of the nobles has ever been polite to a maid like this, and to top it all, she praised her that she's thoughtful. Kate fell in love with the princess already. The other maids were backbiting behind the princess that she's awful and all that, but the character she's seeing now is a stark contrast to what she heard.
"Your highness, how about you take a bath, the journey to this place is very exhausting."
"Sure. And by the way, what's your name?"
"My name is Kate, your highness"
"Alright, kate. Let's get started. But first, prepare my bath"
"I'll get to that now" , kate bowed curtly, then headed to the bathroom.
Sophia walked back to her bed to sit, while waiting for kate.
Just as she sat down, she started wondering if kate was a human. Because judging from the way she looked, she should be a human and also, vampire have red eyes, either light or deep. The deep red signify if they're pure blooded and the light are for turned vampires. And then, vampires always look down on human. Even if she's a princess from the human kingdom, they don't care. And also, who knows if king kael will do anything about it if one of their kind looked down on her.
Just after some moments,kate came out of the bathroom to announce that she's done preparing the bath.
"Alright, I'll join you shortly"
Then kate went back inside.
Sophie went to the bathroom, and kate helped her with her bath.
After bathing, sophia felt more refreshed. Now kate is helping her comb her hair in front of the mirror, then sophia decided to ask about what has been bugging her.
"Kate..."
"Yes, my lady"
"Are you human" sophia finally asked
Kate paused, before replying "Yes my lady I'm human"
"Phew", sohia sighed in relief. They gave her a human maid so she'll be comfortable with them. "Are you the only human maid here?". "No, your highness. There are a lot of us".
It seemed that sophia will be able to adjust here after all. This kingdom is not as worse as she thought it to be.

Kate went to the royal kitchen to get sophia some food, that was when she met a group of maids talking. "Hmmph that kate thinks she's special because the prince appointed her to take care of the new bride", someone said. "She's just too full of herself", another chimed in.
Kate decided to take the other way because she doesn't want trouble, and she has to deliver the princess's food. Going in that direction will only lead to them stopping her.
As she approached Sophia's chamber, she met Anna, lady Diana's maid. "Is Lady Diana around?" She thought to her self. Lady Diana is one of the noble ladies in valtor, her father holds a great position in the court, and also, lady Diana was supposed to be prince Erik's bride, but fate had other plans.
