Seeing the look on her face, Hiroshi couldn't help but reach out and gently stroke her hair. It felt incredibly smooth and silky, completely different from his own hair, like it was on a whole different level.
"In my original world, I was an orphan too. Back then, the only person who was truly kind to me was the old director of the orphanage. Since I didn't have any real family, I was always alone. Even in the orphanage, I was bullied often. But despite all that, I kept going and survived, because I never gave up hope in life," Hiroshi continued telling her about his past.
Harumiko turned her head immediately, listening to him intently once again.
"But now... I don't have any feelings or hopes for that world anymore. I don't want to go back at all. Because here, in this world, I have my loved ones, I have a family... and I also have the person I like the most right beside me!" Hiroshi said softly, looking at her with a warm smile.
When Harumiko heard him say "the person I like the most", she knew he was talking about her. Her face instantly turned bright red. It seemed like no matter how many times she heard it, her heart would still flutter and her mind would start racing with sweet thoughts. That was just how girls were.
"It's really amazing... you've lived two whole lives! Compared to you, my experiences seem so small and insignificant. But... I also have the person I love the most in this world right here next to me, telling me stories," Harumiko said, turning to look at him with a shy but happy smile.
Hiroshi's cheeks turned red as well. There were just so many sweet moments and things to say between them now. It was so easy to make each other blush.
"She really is too cute... I love it so much!" Hiroshi felt his heart bursting with happiness. This was the first time in his entire life that a girl loved him this deeply, truly and wholeheartedly.
And this was also the first time he had ever loved someone this seriously and sincerely.
"Alright, alright, let's stop there! My face is already burning up so much. Let's talk about something else. There are just too many interesting stories from my old world, we definitely can't finish them all in one night. We have plenty of time later, I'll tell you little by little whenever you want," Hiroshi said with a laugh.
Harumiko nodded happily in agreement. They started chatting about other things, reminiscing about all the good times and beautiful memories they had shared together here.
"I can't believe how long we've been together already. It's been over a year since we left the village. We've been through so much together, and I feel like we've both really grown up and understand so much more now. I'm sure we'll face even more things in the future, and we'll become even more mature because of it," Hiroshi said softly, looking out the window.
Harumiko nodded, agreeing with him completely. But right now, her eyelids were feeling incredibly heavy. She could barely keep them open anymore.
"Hiroshi, I can't... I really can't stay awake any longer. Let's go to sleep now, I'm so tired! We have to go to that big lake tomorrow, so we need to get plenty of rest. It's going to be another long day out!" she said softly, patting his arm gently.
Hiroshi nodded with a smile. He was feeling very sleepy too. He slowly lay down under the covers, and it felt wonderfully warm and comfortable.
Even though it was summer, lying in bed inside this room didn't feel hot at all. Instead, it felt cool, cozy, and extremely comfortable.
"Good night, Hiroshi."
"Good night, Harumiko."
They exchanged their final goodnights, closed their eyes, and soon drifted off to sleep.
But just like yesterday, after a few minutes, Harumiko instinctively turned over and wrapped her arms tightly around Hiroshi. It was exactly the same scene as before.
"Sigh... I guess I'm destined to be hugged to sleep every night. But honestly... I'm so happy about it. It feels really comfortable and warm. Being held like this by the girl I love... it's the best feeling in the world!" Hiroshi thought to himself with a contented smile.
However, just at that moment, as he shifted slightly, his arm accidentally brushed against her body. He instantly realised that there was nothing but her soft skin against his hand, with no clothes or fabric in between.
His face turned an even deeper shade of bright red instantly.
