Chapter 321 - Spider-Man and Iron Man are the real father and son without blood ties

Especially the American elite—they'd do anything, even eat people (and I mean *literally* eat people, not just as a figure of speech). What wouldn't they do?

Captain Rogers, having seen too much, refused to trust these people.

So when this bill is pushed now, there's bound to be a huge fight.

"Have we found out who's behind this bill?" Lin Feng asked.

"Multiple factions are pushing this bill almost simultaneously. One of them is Hydra, with many congressmen and high-ranking officials we've identified as Hydra members involved," Red Queen replied.

"Hydra, huh? That makes sense," Lin Feng said after a moment's thought.

For an evil organization like Hydra, which aims to rule the world, superheroes are undoubtedly a major obstacle. It's perfectly in character for them to probe for weaknesses, or even use administrative power to suppress or eliminate these heroes.

"Boss, should we use our resources to stop it?" Red Queen asked.

"No need. Though some are fanning the flames, this also reflects the will of the people and the tide of the times. Trying to stop it would be futile," Lin Feng said, shaking his head.

While many interest groups undoubtedly fanned the flames, the overall sentiment was that of the people. Tony Stark wasn't the only one with paranoid delusions; many ordinary citizens felt the same way.

To put it plainly, when the Hulk, in his quest to fight villains, lifts the car you just took out a loan for and throws it at the house you also just mortgaged, not even the most understanding person could tolerate it.

This sentiment had always existed, but it had been suppressed by the halo effect of the Avengers saving the world.

After all, in the immediate aftermath of saving the world, with the spotlight on them and countless adoring fans, who would dare to challenge them then? It's only now, a year later, as the situation has cooled down, that the undercurrents of dissent have begun to surge.

So, what's the point of resisting? When the entire nation is united, no one can stop it.

Lin Feng had no desire to be the villain, and registering was out of the question. *What a joke!* Homelander's actions were Homelander's business, not his as a super-capitalist.

"Still, we need to monitor this closely and archive everything for easy reference. That's all for now. Just keep an eye on their research progress," Lin Feng said.

"Alright, Boss," Red Queen nodded.

Lin Feng waved her away, instructing her to leave. He planned to stay out of sight as much as possible during this time, letting Homelander's clones handle any incidents. After all, he needed to focus on his cultivation in seclusion.

"Spider-Man's finally here. Is Marvel entering Phase Two?" Lin Feng muttered to himself.

He wasn't sure if Spider-Man's appearance was early or late, but something felt off.

Normally, *Captain America: The Winter Soldier*, where Hydra is eradicated, should come next, followed by *Age of Ultron*, then *Captain America: Civil War* and the Avengers' split. Spider-Man only appeared around that time in the original timeline.

But his early arrival here felt wrong.

Logically, an early Spider-Man might miss the spider bite incident. But since learning that every Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, or other spider-themed hero is chosen by the Spider-Totem, he understood.

As long as the Spider-Totem selected Peter Parker, whether he was bitten by a spider—even a genetically engineered one—didn't matter.

So, he clearly sensed something was off with this timeline, yet he still found it somewhat normal, at least having a reasonable explanation.

But the emergence of the Spider-Verse and the beginning of *Spider-Man 1*'s plot were two different things.

Vulture's sale of alien weapons was only just beginning. It would take time for his activities to be noticed, which would then trigger the events of *Spider-Man 1*.

With this thought, Lin Feng began recording his daily journal entry.

Peter Parker has indeed become Spider-Man. It seems this world's Spider-Totem hasn't abandoned him after all. The one that chose Gwen must be a different Spider-Totem. Vulture has also made his debut—one of Spider-Man's eternal nemeses. The Sinister Six are gradually starting to appear as well. Though I don't know where the rest are yet, I doubt they'll escape.

Not necessarily. He might even poach some Sinister Six members from other parallel universes. Of these six, Kraven the Hunter is almost certain to appear. This guy finds amusement in his own boredom, hunting Spider-Man to prove his prowess. After defeating him, he even commits suicide—talk about... hard to judge. Purely unhinged.

But this Peter Parker is different from other Spider-Men. This little Spider has Tony Stark as his actual father. Since he's his dad, shouldn't he leave him some good gear? (Wink wink)

At least we should keep the Iron Spider Suit. When Venom comes from another universe, we might even get a Venom Spider Suit! *Tsk tsk!*

But Peter Parker, that poor kid, is no less unlucky than Thor. His parents died, his uncle died, Aunt May died, even his adoptive father Tony Stark died. His girlfriend left him, then her replacement left him too. His best friend even forgot him.

No wonder after he became a street hero, Peter Parker's identity gradually faded, leaving only Spider-Man. That poor kid had it rough!

But you have to admit, Tony Stark poured so much effort into him. The little Spider-Man wanted to make Tony proud, to be as good as him. But Tony Stark wanted him to be even better.

*I'm actually crying! This is what it's like to have a father and son who aren't blood-related!*

"What the heck is this?"

On the rooftop of a skyscraper, a slender but wiry figure sat on the edge, staring at a diary in his hands. He looked like a fifteen-year-old boy, with an ordinary face and a hint of his lower-class background.

He was wearing a homemade suit of red and blue armor, which looked rather shabby.

But when he saw the contents of the diary, his eyes widened in disbelief.

As he flipped through the pages, he felt his worldview shattering.

*So many terrifying things have happened, or will happen, in this world?*

*Is this world really this dangerous?*

He had never known any of this. Seeing it now, he felt his mind going numb.

But he saw his future suits—whether the basic version or the Iron Spider Suit—all far superior to his current makeshift version.

*So I really am a nobody, even this suit is just a cobbled-together mess.*

He also learned how much Tony Stark would care for him in the future. Though it hadn't happened yet, the thought still moved him deeply.

He had never imagined anyone could love him like this, aside from Uncle Ben and Aunt May. This was probably the first person besides them.

Especially the future scene where he faded away in Tony Stark's arms, his helpless expression etched in his mind, leaving him with a bitter taste in his mouth.

Iron Man, Tony Stark, was undoubtedly one of his idols. The "one of" was because Captain Rogers was the other.

But later, they seemed to have a falling out.

This pained him deeply—both his idols had broken ties.

Whose side should he take in the future?

It seemed his future self would unhesitatingly choose Tony Stark's side. But that didn't mean he would stop admiring Steve Rogers. Both were his idols.

He also recognized his own recklessness. His loose lips had directly caused the multiverse to be born. He still didn't know the full consequences, but they were clearly no simple problem to resolve.

He felt a pang of guilt.

But now, he realized—wasn't the reason he became Spider-Man simply because he was bitten by that spider?

Or was it that, regardless of which spider bit him, or whether any spider bit him at all, he was destined to become Spider-Man? Because the one who chose him wasn't a spider, but the Spider-Totem. So he was bound to become Spider-Man sooner or later.

In fact, he should be grateful he became Spider-Man. In some parallel timelines, he had become the Lizardman, or some spider monster, instead of Spider-Man.

Thinking about it now, he still felt a lingering sense of unease.

He continued reading, only to discover that his future enemies were called the Sinister Six.

Was Vulture still his father-in-law?

His girlfriend's father?

*My God, he doesn't even have a girlfriend yet.*

In the bottom-tier schools of America, someone like him, who only cared about studying, was unpopular. That's why he'd never had a girlfriend. Even before gaining spider-powers, he was a nearsighted person, making him even less desirable.

*What girl could ever be interested in me?*

No money, no athletic skills, and painfully shy—he stood no chance of becoming the object of any girl's attention. Besides, he didn't even ride that leaf, and couldn't even fit in with the group.

He never imagined he'd actually have a girlfriend in the future.

The thought seemed almost unbelievable.

Could it be MJ?

He recalled the girl who had stayed by his side after his identity was exposed in the future.

A sudden flutter of excitement stirred within him.

Meanwhile, the Avengers logged in for their online meeting, which began on time.

In the span of a year, everyone had undergone drastic changes, especially Thor. He'd even cut his hair short, preparing to blend in with Earth's environment.

Since Earthlings were more accustomed to short hair and suits, he'd adopted that look.
