Ivan had almost given up on waiting when a knock finally came at his door. Without a hesitation, he moved quickly crossing the room and pulled the door open.
Dallas stepped in, his expression tight, his whole posture tense.
Ivan didn't waste a second. "So?" he demanded.
Dallas didn't answer.
Ivan's impatience flared. "Is this what you asked me to wait for? What's going on? Did you go there? Is he alright?" His voice rose with every question.
"I know you can feel that he's alright," Dallas said at last. "If I can, then you should feel it even more clearly. You're connected to him."
"Yeah, I can feel it," Ivan said. "You're right. But I want to hear it. Especially when you just went there and now you're acting like my instincts are lying." He forced his voice to calm, clinging to control.
