Dallas walked straight to his bed the moment he entered the room, dropped onto it, and pulled the covers over his head, as if that could shut out what he was feeling.
He had endured pain before, he was used to it, but in that moment, it felt like everything had piled up at once, heavier than he could handle.
He didn't even know what was hurting him more right now. Was it Axel? The way Axel had completely ruined him this time, leaving behind that message that only made everything worse instead of better?
Or was it Ivan?
Because somewhere along the way, Dallas had started to think that Ivan cared. Maybe not in the same way, but enough to matter.
And now after what Ivan had just said to him, it felt like none of that had been real. Like the only thing Ivan wanted was for him to stay stuck, to keep hurting.
