Ivan wished he could regret the words he had said, but they had felt right in that moment. It was about time he stopped pretending he hated Dallas, because he didn't. It was about time he dropped his ego toward him.
But just because he didn't hate him anymore didn't mean whatever was happening inside him toward Dallas was justified… or acceptable.
He had followed Dallas into the library just to tell him he was leaving, and to clear up the misunderstanding from earlier.
He needed to fix that, because they might never meet again, or so he thought.
After saying what he came to say, he turned to leave.
"Since that's not what you meant, then what did you mean?" Dallas asked.
Ivan had expected that kind of a question. He had already decided he wouldn't answer it because he didn't even have an answer himself.
"It doesn't matter," Ivan said. "Just know I didn't say any of that to hurt you." He said, already heading for the door when Dallas stepped in his way.
