As Ivan stood there, he could already tell neither his mother nor his brother was happy to see him. His mother had been angry with him ever since he chose to return to the academy for the third time.
Just like his father, she had called it shameful to their family. Ivan knew exactly why- It was about appearances. She wanted everything to look perfect in front of her friends, in front of everyone.
And Ivan had never fit into that perfect image.
She hated that he didn't listen to her husband. In her eyes, obedience was everything. Ivan was supposed to follow every word his father said without question, and when he didn't, she called it disrespect toward both of them.
But Ivan had never cared enough to pretend.
Now Leo had taken his place as her favorite, because Leo listened, obeyed and made things easier.
As for Leo, his resentment toward Ivan ran deeper. He was fixated on Ivan's position as the next Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack.
