Chapter 332: The Arrogant God
"Hm? It didn't break?"
The God of Destruction floated in midair, crimson flames raging around her body, hissing as they scorched the surrounding mist.
She glanced down at the shifting black-and-white tiles beneath her feet, a disdainful smile curling at her lips.
"So, you just moved me to another dimension? Such childish tricks hardly deserve to be called a domain."
As soon as she finished speaking, she raised her hand sharply. A basketball-sized orb of fire formed in her palm, blazing with golden embers—her martial soul, the Flame of Annihilation.
The moment that flame appeared, space itself began to distort, as though even time trembled on the verge of being burned away.
"Break for me!"
She hurled the fireball toward the edge of the dimension, her tone contemptuous.
But the instant the flame left her hand, she suddenly felt a strange emptiness within her body, as though something vital had been stripped away.
The divine power that once surged through her meridians ebbed like a receding tide. The crimson flames surrounding her dimmed instantly, reduced to a faint orange glow.
She looked down, shocked to find her scarlet gown dull and lifeless.
The suffocating aura of destruction that once surrounded her was gone.
"What's going on?"
Her pupils trembled in disbelief as she raised her hand again—the flames in her palm had shrunk to the size of a clenched fist, flickering weakly, the sparks sputtering like dying embers.
When she tried to circulate her divine power, she felt only a faint, almost mortal energy stirring within her core.
Its strength…
It was only at the level of a Spirit Emperor!
Her eyes widened in horror as the surrounding black-and-white mist began to churn violently. Space shattered like glass, fragment by fragment.
When her vision cleared again, she found herself standing in a dense ancient forest. The air was thick with the scent of wood and earth, and in the distance came faint roars of spirit beasts.
"This is… the Star Dou Forest of the past?"
Her pupils constricted as realization struck—this was the Star Dou Core Region… from ten thousand years ago!
A golden figure suddenly darted through the forest, sunlight glinting off metallic scales. A massive dragon body, over a hundred meters long, charged toward her. It was Di Tian—still in his primeval, ten-thousand-year stage.
His golden scales still held traces of youth, yet the majesty of dragon might surrounded him, awe-inspiring and suffocating.
"So, how does it feel—to have your power reduced?"
Hovering above the ground, Di Tian's golden eyes gleamed with mockery. Though not yet at his peak, the sheer pressure of his dragon aura was enough to make any ordinary Spirit Master tremble.
The God of Destruction turned sharply. Feeling that oppressive presence, she finally understood what had happened.
"You… What did you do to me? Where is my divine power?" she demanded, her voice trembling with fury.
Di Tian's wings beat slowly, the shadow of the Board of All Beings forming behind him in the swirling mist. His tone was icy cold.
"This is the 'Domain of All Beings,' created by the board itself. Since you look down on beasts so much, why not experience how it feels to be crushed when we're on equal footing?"
"Ridiculous!"
She shouted, forcing her will upon the fading flames. The small fire flickered and flared weakly.
"I am the God of Destruction! You think a mere Spirit Emperor can bind me? What foul sorcery is this?"
"Foul sorcery?"
Di Tian let out a cold laugh. With a sweep of his claws, a golden gust roared past, splitting an ancient tree neatly in half just inches behind her.
"This will be your grave. Enjoy your final moments."
For the first time in countless years, panic flickered in the God of Destruction's heart.
She could clearly feel it—this space had its own strange laws. Not only was her divine power suppressed to the Spirit Emperor level, but her very being had been pulled back into the past.
Even more terrifyingly, though Di Tian was only a ten-thousand-year-old beast here, his strength and physical might already exceeded hers at this level.
Her overwhelming divine authority was gone.
"So what if we're equals?"
Grinding her teeth, the God of Destruction forced down her fear and formed rapid hand seals.
"My control over power far surpasses that of you filthy beasts!"
The ground beneath her split open with several fiery cracks, orange-red flames spewing out to form a blazing wall before her—her Spirit Emperor soul skill Flame Wall.
Though far weaker than her godly flame, it was still capable of blocking attacks from beings of the same level.
Di Tian's eyes narrowed. He swung his massive tail down like a mountain hammer.
In an instant, black-and-white mist surged from the ground, coalescing into a massive chessboard before the wall.
Black and white pieces spun wildly, weaving together into a shimmering barrier of dragon might.
Boom!
The flames crashed against it, sparks scattering wildly, but the barrier held firm, the mist unmoving.
"Impossible!"
Her eyes widened. She could sense their powers were equal—yet the barrier seemed uniquely resistant to her flames. No matter how much spiritual energy she poured into her attack, it would not budge.
"The power of the Board of All Beings… is beyond your comprehension."
Di Tian's tone carried calm arrogance. He realized something new: when his strength matched his opponent's, the board's power grew even more unpredictable.
The black-and-white pieces seemed alive, shifting preemptively to counter the enemy's attacks.
It was an ability even he hadn't expected.
Perhaps the Starry Sky Auction Pavilion had withheld this secret intentionally.
That knowledge only strengthened his resolve to win.
The God of Destruction hesitated for a fraction of a second—just long enough for Di Tian to strike.
He shot forward, a gleaming streak of gold skirting around the fire wall, his claws radiating golden energy.
Boom!
A sharp crack echoed through the air as his claw tore at the void, slicing toward her back with unstoppable force.
The God of Destruction spun around quickly, thrusting her hands forward to release a compressed orb of fire.
"Flame Burst Impact!"
The golden claw wind collided with the orange-red fireball, erupting in blinding light.
The shockwave blasted Di Tian backward a few steps, but the god reeled even harder, blood spilling from her lips.
Her eyes widened in disbelief. At the same level, Di Tian's power was overwhelmingly superior.
The two clashed again and again, the phantom Star Dou Forest fracturing under their blows.
With each exchange, Di Tian's aura grew more ferocious, while the God of Destruction's divine form faltered—her clothes torn, her body bloodied and scarred.
