Adam stared at the doorway, his patience thinning with every passing second.
He had fully expected Mrs. Damson to realize her mistake, turn on her heel, and vanish instantly. Instead, the woman remained frozen, her gaze lingering on them in a state of sheer shock.
The longer she stood there, the more Adam felt his temper beginning to flare.
It was a private moment, one that had been hard-won after hours of heavy emotional disclosure, and now it was being treated like a spectator sport. Seeing that she wasn't moving to leave on her own, Adam finally snapped.
"Get out," he commanded, his voice low but vibrating with a dangerous edge.
