Chapter 161 - Chapter 160: Rasengan Given by the Son

"Could it be that someone used a space-time ninjutsu to quietly transfer the Tailed Beast Ball away?"

Obito's sharp gaze cut toward the distant Allied Shinobi Forces headquarters.

"Hmph, it doesn't matter if we can't eliminate them," Madara sneered coldly. "In the face of absolute power, any wisdom or strategy is meaningless."

"Then let's sweep away these ant-like enemies!" Obito declared.

The Ten-Tails' gigantic, hand-like tail swung down with destructive force, creating a massive hurricane that ripped across the battlefield toward the Allied Shinobi Forces.

The ground split apart, boulders shattered, and clouds of dust swallowed the screams of countless shinobi crushed under the attack.

"Damn it!" Naruto growled, watching helplessly as the Ten-Tails' tail smashed down on his comrades. His heart burned with fury and despair.

Neji darted forward without hesitation, placing himself in front of Naruto. Hiashi quickly joined him.

"Neji, use Revolving Heaven to the right!"

"Understood!" Neji shouted back, his body spinning like a top as chakra burst outward in a spiraling shield of defense.

Hiashi mirrored him, and together they formed a massive chakra dome, deflecting the Ten-Tails' tail and sending it crashing into the ground, raising a towering cloud of debris.

"So powerful…" Naruto muttered, watching in awe as the Hyuga clan father and son blocked the attack together.

"Don't space out, Naruto!" Hiashi barked. "This is a battlefield! The war is still raging, and death is inevitable. But if we lose this fight, everyone will be destroyed!"

"I know that already!" Naruto yelled back, his eyes fierce with determination.

"Naruto," Neji said solemnly, "to die before one's child is a shinobi's duty—just like my father before me. Your power is vital to our strategy. No matter what happens…"

"No matter what, we must protect Naruto!" Hinata shouted, stepping in front of him with firm resolve.

"Hinata…" Naruto looked at her, warmth and gratitude flooding through him.

"Remember this," Hiashi declared loudly, "the Hyuga are Konoha's strongest clan!"

Madara scoffed. "What arrogance."

"I'd already planned to attack before they could spout such nonsense," Obito muttered. "But the Ten-Tails is too difficult to control."

Madara's eyes darkened. "Although Edo Tensei is maintained by Hashirama's cells, once the Ten-Tails transforms again, it can't be controlled unless I become its Jinchuriki. And for that, I must be alive — not a reanimated corpse."

"Which means," Obito said sharply, "you'll have to rely on me and the Outer Path: Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique to return you to life. So don't forget who's really in control here."

Madara glared at him coldly. "These brats today… so insolent."

"I never considered you a comrade," Obito said flatly.

Madara gave a dark laugh. "Fine. Then you decide what comes next."

"Continue. Let them slowly taste despair." Obito raised his hand. The Ten-Tails' massive limbs lifted high into the air.

"Wood Release: Cutting Sprigs!"

Countless wooden spikes erupted from the Ten-Tails' enormous hands, shooting forward like living weapons. Each one was sharp enough to pierce solid steel.

The barrage was endless. Screams filled the battlefield as the spikes tore through armor and flesh alike. The air reeked of blood and fear.

"There are too many… Revolving Heaven can't block them all!"

Neji gritted his teeth, standing in front of Naruto. Even his defense was beginning to falter.

A sharp crack rang out — clang! — as Neji's forehead protector was struck off, revealing the cursed Caged Bird Seal beneath.

"Thanks, Neji," Naruto said, his hands already forming signs. "My Sage Mode's done charging. I can't just rely on geniuses forever… time for me to help too!"

"Wind Release: Rasenshuriken!"

A roaring vortex of wind spiraled into existence in Naruto's palm.

He hurled it forward, the explosive Rasenshuriken shredding through the incoming wooden spikes and clearing a path.

The blast's aftermath gave the Allied Forces a brief moment of relief — but only a moment.

More spikes rained down from above like a storm.

"It's not over yet!" Naruto shouted.

Dozens of his Shadow Clones formed, each hurling a Rasenshuriken to intercept the incoming waves. Explosions rippled across the field.

When the last clone vanished, Naruto collapsed to one knee, breathing heavily. His chakra was nearly depleted, and the Nine-Tails' power hadn't yet recovered.

Then — whizz! — a wooden spike hurtled straight for him.

"Eight Trigrams: Empty Palm!"

Hinata appeared in front of him, striking the spike aside with a burst of chakra.

But before they could recover, the Ten-Tails' massive tail came crashing down again.

"Eight Trigrams: Empty Wall Palm!"

Hiashi leapt beside them, releasing a shockwave of chakra from his palms. The wave collided with the incoming tail, knocking it upward.

But from that same tail, hundreds of new wooden spikes erupted midair, all aimed directly at Naruto.

"Oh no!" someone shouted.

"It's targeting Naruto! There are too many — Hinata and Neji can't block them all!"

Hiashi clenched his teeth, ready to leap forward — but it was too late.

Hinata's chakra was nearly drained. She spread her arms wide and stood in front of Naruto without hesitation.

"My chakra's almost gone… I can't use Revolving Heaven again…" she thought. "Am I… powerless?"

Neji looked at Hinata, memories flashing through his mind — their childhood, her kindness, her vow to stand by him.

"Neji, protecting Lady Hinata and the Hyuga bloodline is your destiny."

"If only Brother Neji could take my place… Brother Neji is amazing…"

"I'll make you stronger… and when danger comes… I'll protect you with my life…"

"Brother Neji… I'll stay by your side until your eyes recover… just like you protected me back then…"

Those memories echoed in his heart.

"Father… I did it," Neji whispered as he dashed in front of Hinata, spreading his arms wide to shield her.

Just as the wooden spikes were about to hit—

"Revolving Defense!"

A massive blue-and-white spiral barrier erupted, tearing the spikes to dust.

Boruto stood beside Neji, hands in his pockets, his expression calm and almost bored.

"This is… Revolving Defense?" Hiashi muttered, stunned. "And such a wide range… who is this powerful Hyuga?"

"Earth Release: Mountain Spikes!"

Kitsuchi slammed his hands to the ground. Two towering mountains of stone rose beneath the Ten-Tails, clamping its massive body and forcing it to bend under the pressure.

"Now! Charge!" someone yelled. The Allied Shinobi Forces surged forward as the Ten-Tails roared.

When the swirling barrier faded, Neji turned to Boruto in shock. "You… who are you?"

"This blond brat… his power's insane! Who is he? And why does he look exactly like Naruto…" Hiashi whispered to himself.

Hinata stared in confusion at the newcomer, then glanced at Naruto — her eyes wide, her heart racing.

Naruto also stared, stunned.

Boruto turned around and gave him a teasing grin. "So lame."

"Hey, kid! Who the hell are you?!" Naruto snapped, bristling.

Boruto ignored the question. "Can you still use Rasengan?" he asked instead.

"Rasengan?" Naruto repeated, surprised. But then, determination filled his face.

He raised his hand, gathering the last of his chakra. A blue Rasengan began to form in his palm.

Boruto stepped closer, placing his own hand over Naruto's. Silver-white chakra surged from Boruto's palm into Naruto's Rasengan, and together, their chakras intertwined.

The orb began to expand — growing larger and brighter every second, until it blazed like a small sun.

"This is…" Naruto whispered in awe.

The Rasengan continued to swell, radiating blinding light. Its size reached hundreds of meters — a brilliant, roaring sphere that illuminated the entire battlefield.

Boruto withdrew his hand. Naruto could feel the immense weight of the chakra in his palm.

"So heavy… how much power does it take to make something like this?" Naruto muttered.

Boruto smiled faintly. "Dad," he said softly, "your Rasengan isn't big enough — and it's not fierce enough. But don't worry."

His voice grew firm. "With me here, the Uzumaki Clan's Rasengan will never lose to anyone again!"
