In Konoha Village, a blinding flash of light suddenly flickered. As it faded, Sarada Uchiha and Sumire Kakei slowly appeared out of thin air.
"Where… is this?"
Sarada looked around. Under the faint moonlight, she saw rows of old wooden houses, their outlines hazy. The ground beneath her feet was rough and yellowish-brown dirt.
"Sarada! Boruto isn't with us!" Sumire shouted anxiously, suddenly realizing that Boruto Uzumaki wasn't by their side.
"We traveled through time… Did Boruto end up in another point in time?"
A wave of unease surged in Sarada's chest. She tightened her grip on the tool in her hand, her eyes filled with confusion and tension.
"What kind of place is this?"
"Sarada, look over there…" Sumire pointed toward a distant mountain wall.
Sarada followed her gaze — five giant stone faces stood carved into the mountain.
"Are we still in Konoha Village?"
She stared in disbelief, doubt creeping into her heart.
"Only the Hokage Rock of the First to Fifth Hokage is here. This must be Konoha Village in the past…" Sumire explained calmly.
Sarada's expression shifted as realization hit her. "We've arrived in the past version of Konoha Village."
"This looks so familiar," Sumire murmured, observing their surroundings. "It's like after Pain used Shinra Tensei to destroy the village during his invasion."
Sarada nodded slightly. "Yeah. In that old Boruto made movie, Konoha was shown turning from a flat plain into a massive pit. Judging from the terrain, it matches that time period."
The two girls moved cautiously through the silent village. Only the occasional cry of a night bird pierced the heavy stillness.
"The village is so quiet… Could it be…" Sarada suddenly thought of something, her face growing solemn.
"Fourth Shinobi World War," Sumire whispered.
Sarada nodded. "Then how are we supposed to find Boruto?"
"Yes… where is Boruto? Wait—Sarada, I can sense my master's chakra." Sumire's eyes widened.
"Master? The Second Hokage?" Sarada asked.
Meanwhile, in the underground chamber beneath the Naka Shrine, Orochimaru slammed his palm against the floor. Black sealing runes spread outward like living ink, wrapping around four White Zetsu.
A moment later, four figures slowly rose from the smoke — Hashirama Senju, Tobirama Senju, Hiruzen Sarutobi, and Minato Namikaze — the Four Hokage resurrected through Edo Tensei.
"Alright… come, those who know everything," Orochimaru said coldly.
His body elongated and transformed into a massive white-scaled snake that slithered into the White Zetsu controlled by Suigetsu.
Sasuke Uchiha, seventeen years old, stared indifferently at the four Hokage before him.
"After learning the truth… I want to find my own answer. Whether to take revenge on Konoha, or—"
Before he could finish, Tobirama cut him off with a sharp, furious voice.
"You want to take revenge on Konoha? You inherently evil Uchiha brat— I'll personally—"
Tobirama's expression twisted with anger. Crossing his arms over his chest, he raised a single finger.
His chakra exploded outward in an instant, stirring up a violent wind that startled Sasuke and the others.
At the same time, Hashirama released his own chakra. The impact was so intense that the ground and surrounding walls cracked.
Even the usually composed Orochimaru tensed slightly, lifting his finger defensively.
"Holy crap… that's terrifying!" Suigetsu stammered, his body beginning to liquefy in fear.
"Tobirama, put your finger down," Hashirama said firmly.
"I get it, Brother. Don't just tell me what to do every time," Tobirama muttered, slowly lowering his finger.
Just then, the underground chamber door burst open. Sarada and Sumire rushed inside.
"Master!" Sumire called out to Tobirama.
Sarada's gaze instantly locked on the familiar young face standing among the Hokage. Her heart clenched.
"Dad…?" she whispered.
Seventeen-year-old Sasuke Uchiha turned toward the voice.
And for a brief moment… time itself seemed to stand still.
