Chapter 528 - Chapter 301: Bearing Everything to Change History

Obito felt that if only Kakashi could talk a little to Uzumaki Naruto about Mokgetsu's story, things wouldn't be like this.

"What about Nohara Rin, do you have any impression of her? Has Kakashi never mentioned her?" Obito exhaled deeply, then changed the question.

Uzumaki Naruto and Yamato shook their heads together; this was another person they didn't know, someone they hadn't even heard of.

Getting this response, Obito clenched his fists tightly, his nails digging into his flesh from the pressure, yet he didn't relax in the slightest.

He could hardly imagine a future without Mokgetsu, without Nohara Rin. He couldn't believe in such a future and was unwilling to accept it.

"You know Teacher Minato, right?" Obito bit his tongue, forcing himself to calm down before continuing to ask.

"Yes," Yamato nodded, "Lord Minato was the Fourth Hokage of Konoha, the greatest hero in the war."

Due to the previous misunderstanding about someone's identity, the fact that Namikaze Minato was the Fourth Hokage had basically been leaked, so Yamato felt it was okay to elaborate a bit more.

"How did Teacher Minato die, and why?" Obito directly asked about the cause of Minato's death.

As a Hokage, it was impossible for Namikaze Minato to die without clarity.

Yamato closed his eyes, unsure if he should continue speaking, or what consequences might follow if he did.

"Captain Yamato, do you know? If you do, just tell us. Wouldn't it be great if we could prevent the Fourth Hokage's death?" Uzumaki Naruto looked at Yamato as he spoke.

He wasn't really clear about these matters; he knew very little about the Fourth Hokage, only hearing snippets from Jiraiya when they were together.

For example, the Rasengan was developed by the Fourth Hokage over three years, and the Fourth Hokage was truly a genius ninja.

"Naruto, it's not that I don't want to say it, but if history changes, what will the world be like when we return? Will it remain the same, or will it change with the history?" Yamato opened his eyes and said helplessly.

"If the change is positive, with the Fourth Hokage surviving and Konoha becoming stronger, that would be great. But if our reckless actions lead to unexpected events and the destruction of Konoha, we would become the criminals of history."

As for the death of the Fourth Hokage, Yamato didn't know much either. The details of this event were highly classified; he only knew the main reason was the Nine-tails incident, where the Fourth Hokage died sealing the Nine-tails to protect the village.

Thus, Yamato really didn't dare to speak carelessly. If good intentions resulted in greater trauma for Konoha, it would be a huge problem.

Yamato didn't see himself as someone capable of altering the course of history, so he chose to maintain the status quo, ensuring at least that they wouldn't return only to find Konoha gone.

Uzumaki Naruto opened his mouth, unable to think of a way to refute Yamato at the moment.

If it were only his own life, Uzumaki Naruto could stand up and say no; he dared to challenge. If he won, Mokgetsu and the Fourth Hokage would survive; if he lost, he would die.

But Naruto couldn't gamble with other people's lives; he didn't have the right.

Obito also felt the weight in Yamato's words. Even though it was just the two of them, they were actually carrying the entire future.

But Obito still didn't want to give up. Without Teacher Mokgetsu, without Rin, and without Teacher Minato, he didn't want such a future, wouldn't acknowledge such a future, and aimed to create a future where everyone survives.

Knock knock!

Just as Obito was about to say something more, there was a sudden knock on the door.

Obito glanced around and finally locked his gaze on the wardrobe in the room, then hid inside.

Earlier in the day, Mokgetsu had already expressed an attitude about dealing with future ninjas, and Obito didn't want Mokgetsu to worry.

Before going in, Obito softly reminded Uzumaki Naruto and Yamato not to mention his visit.

"It's little Kakashi-sensei, why so cautious?"

Hiding in the wardrobe, Obito overheard the conversations and realized the visitor wasn't Mokgetsu, but Kakashi.

"Does this guy Kakashi also want to know about the future?" Obito controlled his breathing, quietly listening to their conversation.

Kakashi, with a line across his forehead, looked at Naruto. Though he was addressed as 'sensei,' he didn't feel any respect; no one called a teacher 'little' in front of the title.

Yamato felt a headache seeing the youthful version of Kakashi walk in. Dealing with Senior Kakashi was no easy task.

"There are a few things I'm quite curious about and want to ask you," Kakashi stated his purpose after sitting down.

Uzumaki Naruto thought it felt familiar; this entrance and opening line seemed like something he'd just experienced.

As expected, Kakashi quickly began asking about Mokgetsu, Nohara Rin, and Obito.

Regarding these topics, Uzumaki Naruto and Yamato didn't hold back, as they actually knew nothing about people like Mokgetsu.

What surprised Yamato was that instead of asking about Minato, Kakashi began talking about himself next.

"Since one of you is my future student and the other my future junior, tell me what kind of person I am in the future," Kakashi said after some thought.

Hearing this, Uzumaki Naruto perked up.

"Kakashi-sensei, you really should be mindful of time. The future you is basically a latecomer, always late, never punctual, and using lame excuses to brush us off. If it's not meeting a lost old lady, it's a black cat causing his life's path to drift," Uzumaki Naruto complained.
