Chapter 494 - Chapter 458: Mission Recovery

"Did something happen between you and him?" Raven leaned in close to Donna's face, whispering with a gossiping gleam.

"Don't talk nonsense, nothing happened. I heard Olympus is planning to have him marry the Three Great Goddesses."

Donna helplessly tugged at Raven's little face, which was often contorted into playful expressions, making it easy to stretch into all sorts of funny shapes.

"You guys might not know, being non-warlocks, but the gods on Earth have already had their Witchcraft Fire taken by the Inverted Man. They may still be powerful warriors, but they're no longer gods."

Raven didn't mind Donna's hand playing with her face; instead, she spoke mysteriously.

But Donna's thoughts were directed elsewhere, different from Raven's implications, as she pondered the current situation.

"So you're saying that even without using the Tear of Extinction, they could have killed Poseidon before?"

Raven puffed up her cheeks, elbowing Donna's fingers away with a 'puh-ah' sound.

"Yes, Poseidon now is pretty much just a slightly stronger old man. You could kill a god, too."

"Didn't Circe notice?" Donna frowned, surveying the battlefield around them, "because it looks like Luthor doesn't know about it either."

"First, Magic Realm issues are solved by the Magic Realm," Raven stopped her playful antics as Donna shifted to serious matters, "Secondly, Circe fought against Olympus alone for thousands of years! Would she share her secrets with Luthor? I doubt it."

Steel Bone stood nearby, leaning on her two-handed hammer to rest. She didn't like finishing off severely wounded enemies—it wasn't her style.

But she had no reason to stop Donna, only watching from the sidelines.

Hearing this, she chimed in, "Villains are always like that, each with their own agenda. We think Luthor formed an alliance, but they're likely just as divided."

Raven nodded with a sly smile, linking 'unity' to 'Villain Alliance,' which she found the funniest joke ever.

What brings villains together is interest alone; unity as a concept doesn't exist in their minds.

Currently, Luthor isn't just fighting the Justice League and the world—his own people are also scheming against each other.

No, she thought wrong. To them, there's no such thing as 'own people,' only themselves.

And as a Titan member and a good kid, Raven naturally kept the intel she deduced…

…and didn't tell Batman but sealed it away in her heart with magic.

Like it's said, Magic Realm matters are solved by the Magic Realm.

As the daughter of one of the Demon King's Three Palaces, she knew more about the dark reality than anyone. If she shared everything, Batman might die of shock.

She saw Batman in the morning, sitting all scruffy in the monitoring room, his armor fixing him in place, unable to move, looking utterly exhausted.

Except for his eyes maintaining that usual calmness, Batman's condition was not good.

Currently, he relied entirely on willpower to support himself, ever since the Totality landed on Earth, he hadn't rested even for a second, managing countless affairs constantly.

So Rachel thought it best not to burden him with Magic Realm matters anymore and wait for Diana to return and tell her.

This was just fine; Rachel had long been annoyed with the gods and now let them taste the mortal experience.

"So... that rumor you mentioned, I heard it too." Rachel nudged Donna's cheek with a grin, "Athena, Artemis, and the others might not be your match now."

"What?"

Donna took Rachel's hand and continued forward together. They needed to head to the front of this spaceship, to the bridge to find the enemy leader and more intel.

Raven rolled her eyes, throwing a playful rant at Donna while staying vigilant of their surroundings:

"Pretend all you want, but if you hadn't fallen for him, why would you suggest making him the commander? You know we all have an aversion to that black and yellow caution color. Every time I see Deathstroke, I feel suffocated; Starfire feels like she's been shot by a sniper, and Garfield recalls his days as a mouse."

Old Deathstroke indeed had tormented the Teen Titans in cunning ways. Even Rachel got captured by him, nearly drowned in a big glass jar sprinkled with N Metal fibers.

Not to mention them, even Steel Bone, who had joined the Justice League, was terrified of Deathstroke.

She'd heard that during the last metal event, Steel Bone even questioned Batman over issues related to Deathstroke.

The fear of Deathstroke outweighed the fear of the Bat, so much that even Steel Bone dared to speak loudly to Batman, even though he was just a mere Steel Bone.

"You're talking nonsense again; you should watch fewer idol dramas." Donna let go of Rachel, letting her walk on her own, "My sister seems fond of him, not me."

"Oh, just admit it already. For my good sister, I can tolerate Deathstroke leading us temporarily so you two can be together, what do you say?"

Raven fluttered her big eyes, curiously watching Donna.

Donna gave her a sidelong glance, flipping her hair, "We might as well just disband."

Saying so, she strode quickly down the corridor as if fleeing for her life.

Raven squinted at her retreating back, then glanced at the little Xiaona beside her, tilting her head, "Donna's just in denial, I can feel it."

Steel Bone clearly wanted to avoid overly interfering in her teammates' personal lives. She had no grudge against Deathstroke and reasoned that having a Tactical Master join was indeed advantageous.

"I think Deathstroke will do. If he's really like what's recorded in the intelligence, no, even if he's only half as strong as in the records, he's still much better than our two boys."

"Sigh, forget it, whether we can return safely is still an issue, let's keep moving forward."

...............

As they continued forward, they didn't encounter any enemies, and the signs on this ship indicated that it was by no means an advanced luxurious flagship.

There were leaking pipes everywhere on the ceiling of the corridor, with coral and mold growing in the dark and damp corners, and the smell was particularly unpleasant, like rotten dead fish.

The lighting was almost nonexistent, and the facilities and equipment looked very outdated, and they didn't encounter any enemies again.

Donna found the answer to the problem.

This was a supply ship. As they passed by the warehouse, they found thousands of tons of frozen alien fish, which were food for the alien fleet.

The aliens they encountered before weren't even considered combat reserves, just a group of warehouse workers holding weapons.

"Well, at least we got something, we have fish now!" Raven joked again.

Steel Armor used the hammer to smash the ice, took out a fish, and scanned it with the equipment on the armor.

It was truly a fish, although an alien creature, it posed no hazard, and its protein composition was safe and harmless for humans.

This was simply food, not a fish-shaped bomb.

"What should we do?"

Steel Armor turned to ask Donna, with a hammer in one hand and frozen fish in the other, standing in the dimly lit warehouse, looking particularly helpless.

Their team apparently chose the wrong target; the largest ship was by no means a flagship but a supply ship.

Now they've seized the alien's fish supplies, but aliens don't rely solely on this one supply ship nor live solely on fish.

They must have other food, and these fish were merely dishes for the vast fleet.

Now it was up to Donna to lead the team.

Before the aliens on other ships discovered them, they still had some time, which could be used either for retreat or for intelligence gathering.

Donna chose to head towards the bridge to gather intelligence.

It would be best to find where the enemy leader was or the alien fleet's supply location. Finding their next action plan would be even better.

It's hard to come into the enemy's midst, we surely can't go back with just a few fish?

The enemies on this ship seemed to be completely cleared out already, so let's search for intelligence first.

So, the three girls agreed to head to the bridge, no longer searching for other miscellaneous cabins, to gain more time.

Meanwhile, behind them, Beast Boy was finally caught by Sea Storm, as Sea Storm ultimately used the water control ability to envelop him from all directions.

Then they discovered the girls had left, leaving them behind, so they didn't bother playing around but rushed through the pile of corpses to chase after them.

The appearance of this ship looked like a sailboat, but in fact, the sails were just barrier generators used to form the Earth envelopment network along with other ships.

On the bridge, Raven eliminated the last few enemies, and the group started to examine the ship's information storage.

Alien starships, undoubtedly high-tech, so this was Steel Armor's task.

Meanwhile, the others started searching the enemy's corpses, hoping to find some additional clues.

Of course, this type of work shouldn't be done by the Warlock; such hard and dirty work was basically the warrior's task.

Since the three girls all had numb and spiritless eyes gazing at Gass and Garfield, the two boys wisely took over the task of searching bodies.

Raven's shadow magic was very effective, attacking souls without causing too much external damage.

The Fish-Men's death was particularly gruesome, not only bleeding from seven orifices but also with terrified expressions on their faces, as if they'd seen something horrifying just before dying, even forgetting the physical pain.

But the clothes on the bodies were intact, making the search convenient.

There was nothing particularly valuable, just some small shells or aquatic plants, and it was unclear why they packed these things in their pockets.

"Could it be gum?"

Beast Boy tried a piece of seaweed. After transforming into a beast, he had a very strong stomach.

But he immediately spat it out, the taste was indescribable.

As he was in bear form, he spat out a large amount all at once, causing the girls to look at them with even more disdain.

Fortunately, Steel Armor found some intelligence on the alien computer, calling over the helpless Donna and the enraged Raven, the three of them started researching it.

The two boys once again escaped a crisis, otherwise Raven would surely use them for tentacle bondage.
