Chapter 491 - Chapter 456: Striking My Own Teammate

The Fish-Man on the opposite side was stunned, even slightly lowering the weapon in their hand.

The alien spaceship was filled with moisture everywhere, making everyone appear somewhat greasy, and the scaly aliens were especially noticeable, with water droplets clinging to them.

"Rua?" one Fish-Man tentatively repeated the phrase.

Immediately, Gass roared back, "Let's fight already, what are you mumbling about?"

"Rua!!!!"

The aliens seemed to understand something, laying down their weapons and starting to whisper among themselves.

"Are these Earthlings... here to surrender?"

"Probably, didn't you hear him? He voluntarily asked to eat shit, geez."

"So disgusting, Earth creatures surrendering so easily, without any self-respect, sigh."

"Exactly, how did the Sea Gods get fooled before?"

"You dare to gossip about the Gods? You're going to be added to today's death sentence list."

"Don't say nonsense, our priority now is to test these Earth creatures, see if they're genuinely surrendering."

"Right, hurry up and prepare the feces."

"I have some here... hmm... just a bit."

While the Fish-Men were whispering, Gass and his team were also a bit puzzled. In the narrow corridor, these Fish-Men didn't seem to want to fight but also didn't show any intention of clearing the way.

Gass tossed his long hair proudly.

See, he just shouted twice in the opponent's language and scared the enemy, showing how essential it is to know a foreign language.

Who dares to say he's brainless? Mimicking the enemy's battle cry is clearly a god-like strategy, right?

"The opponent has no fighting spirit now, just one more shout and they'll obediently make way."

Gass confidently told Donna, noting that the alien Fish-Men had already abandoned resistance.

Donna felt something was off but couldn't pinpoint exactly what. She held her Treasure Sword and Shield, while the Fish-Men on the opposite side actively distanced themselves, seemingly avoiding them disdainfully.

Could it be they disliked the smell of humans? But she bathed, so she turned her gaze towards Beast Boy.

Beast Boy had transformed into a green-furred bear, appearing very hot and sweaty. If there was indeed a human smell undetectable by them, it was likely coming from him.

"Huh? Why are you looking at me?" Beast Boy, with his beast-like keen intuition, noticed Donna looking at him inquisitively, with an examining expression.

They had been old teammates, so why did it seem like she hadn't seen him before?

From when they were Teen Titans until they collectively changed to Titans, leaving the Teen Titans name to other kids, but should they be this estranged?

Donna pouted and turned her head away.

"Rua!!!"

Gass didn't want to wait anymore; he wanted the enemy to clear a path. Regardless of what's on the ship, whether it's the enemy leader or extra intelligence, he intended to bring it back.

His triumphant return would see him throw the bundled-up enemy leader before Batman and mock Batman to his heart's content.

When Gass was still Young Sea Hero, Batman's attitude was very poor towards him, guarding against him like a thief, 24/7.

Originally, Atlanteans were already separated from humans, and as a Prince of Atlantis' allied nation Idilist, he was even more distant.

When he accompanied Arthur to meet Batman, he felt the cold eyes behind that mask looking at him like he was a dead fish.

Actually, Batman wasn't targeting him specifically.

Bats treated everyone the same; whenever someone new joined, they always had to undergo 'Bat fear' to see if they had the qualifications to become a hero.

In Batman's view, only those who can overcome fear deserve to be called heroes. If someone's frightened by his gaze, then they shouldn't pursue being a hero — go home and lead a peaceful life.

And monitoring? That's mandatory when joining the Justice League.

Every Justice League Hero, including secondary and tertiary teams, was monitored by Batman, also deemed routine.

But back then, Gass was just a kid, deeply terrified of Batman, although he passed the test and joined the Teen Titans...

But he merely held back without wetting himself.

As Gass grew older, he seemed to enter a rebellious phase, not listening to Arthur and showing impatience towards Batman.

'You tell me to do something, I won't!'

Though Gass himself had long hair, modeled after Sea King with a beard, looking rugged.

Psychologically, he was still that young follower, expressing displeasure just so Arthur would console him, take him out for fun, dive or play arcade games were fine.

However, Arthur felt Gass had matured. Two bearded muscle men swimming together... doesn't it seem disgusting?

Gass had his own codename now, Sea Storm not Young Sea Hero, not tagging along, but standing independently.

Thus, to prevent Gass from living in Sea King's shadow, Arthur kept some distance.

Sometimes they met at the Hall of Justice, where they casually chatted like colleagues, then Arthur went off drinking.

Little did he know, Gass had been hanging out with him since he was ten, treating Arthur like his own big brother, unable to accept such cold reality.

Hence, Gass declared he wanted to quit Teen Titans and attend college.

This time you guys should try to keep me, right?

But no one did.

Arthur didn't think anything was wrong. Going to college is great, learning more cultural knowledge is definitely useful. He himself suffered from a lack of education.

Gass was also living on land and mingling with humans, he was almost twenty and should head to college too.

So Arthur broke precedent and treated Barry to a meal, asking him to use his fastest speed to send Gass directly to university.

There was a lot of luggage, and the UV rays outside were pretty strong. Sending him directly would spare Gass some trouble.

After eating the fried fish sticks prepared by the Sea King himself, Barry found them a bit fishy, with scales still on them—a full sea flavor.

But the sentiment from his teammate was enough. The kind-hearted Barry said it was a piece of cake, wasn't it just a matter of sending him from Washington to Los Angeles? Give him 0.001 seconds.

Divine Speed, too fast... so fast there wasn't even time to say goodbye...

One moment Gass was in his little space waiting for Arthur to try to keep him, and the next, Barry had already sent him to a dorm room at the university, even setting up his bed and daily necessities.

The thoughtful Barry even left him a few big fish to prevent him from being unaccustomed to the diet at first.

Since then, Gass has been sulking and hasn't come back, not until now.

.........

The fish-men on the other side were dawdling and indecisive, so Gass thought he needed to apply more pressure to make them disperse.

Going to college was indeed useful; he had seen a lot of human wisdom. For example, in the 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms,' a person once scared the enemy away just by shouting on a bridge.

Today, he, Sea Storm Gas, could do the same.

"Rua!!!"

He let out another roar.

The fish-men indeed shrank back a bit, disbelief filled their eyes.

Impatient to eat excrement? Are Earth creatures this scary?

Although they didn't understand Earth creatures' habits, to them, defecation took time to brew!

However, at that moment, a brother among them, who looked like a lobster, did a great job. He squeezed out a long piece and sighed in relief.

The fish-men scattered a bit; they really did retreat, leaving behind a black 'hemp rope' on the ground.

They gestured toward Gass, pointing first at his mouth, then at the excrement on the ground.

Are you satisfied now? What was the rush? Never seen anyone fight over feces; now you've got what you wished for, hurry up and eat it while it's hot to prove your loyalty.

Even if Gass was a fool, he knew he had messed up again, looking at that familiar shape, and the wisps of heat rising from it...

These aliens actually wanted him to eat poop!

Donna and Raven both held their foreheads, embarrassed, making Earth's face completely lost; it was all Gass's fault for trying to mimic alien speech!

Why didn't he just start swinging right away?

Steel Armor turned her head away, unable to bear watching any further.

Beast Boy lost his fighting ability, turning into a ground squirrel, rolling on the ground laughing, pounding his fist on the floor.

This was the Gass he knew, still brainless after all these years.

He heard that when Arthur first met Mera, they snuck off to an untouched coral reef at night for a date, secretly kissing.

But Gass, who was secretly following them, had something crossed in his wires, thinking Mera was actually a Sea Demon, siphoning Arthur's soul through a kiss.

Didn't you see Arthur's eyes were closed, looking near death? Arthur's hands were weakly groping Mera's back, wasn't that struggling?

Gass had a brainwave, thinking of the principle of leverage, he found a mast from a sunken ship to pry a massive boulder from above, planning to crush Mera and rescue Arthur.

However, the situation was not as he thought. Mera was using hard water to protect her body to prevent Arthur from taking too much advantage.

Arthur, being with her, was crushed under the boulder and lost consciousness.

When prepared, Arthur was indeed very resilient, but while kissing, only one part of him was hard, the rest was soft, and he didn't even wear armor for the date.

Seeing Arthur passed out, Gass thought Mera had taken his soul, planning to kill Mera to retrieve it.

Mera couldn't explain; one couldn't explain kissing and touching to a kid, and Gass was completely berserk, not listening at all.

So both of them used water control techniques, waging an underwater battle that lasted a few hours until Arthur woke up from beneath the cold boulder...

Bringing a sidekick was something Arthur learned from Batman; he admired Batman and always learned things from him.

Batman's sidekicks in the Bat Clan were all sharp and capable, something Arthur envied, so he wanted to have sidekicks himself.

Poisidonis didn't have suitable candidates, so he chose a staunch ally, the prince of the Idilist member nation, purely because of loyalty - they stood with Arthur's mother from the start.

But given Arthur's careless nature and reckless personality, could one expect him to train a protege like Nightwing?

Thus, Gass was educated by Arthur into a berserker; his combat power was indeed reliable, easily tearing Sea Monsters apart with his bare hands.

In terms of wisdom, however, he didn't meet Arthur's expectations, often creating blunders worse than Arthur.

And now, Gass was inadvertently striking against his team; the opposition hadn't done anything yet, and Beast Boy had already exited the battle lineup.

Beast Boy had the lowest threshold for laughter, coupled with recalling the countless antics from Gass's past, he was about to laugh himself to death.
