Chapter 1098 - Chapter 1036: Little Spider

Though there were only two people at home, May still made a whole table of dishes. Not only that, she also opened a bottle of red wine for herself and a bottle of Powerful Beverage for Peter.

Usually, she doesn't allow Peter to drink too many carbonated drinks because she heard that they affect development, and Peter is still a child, in his growing period.

The two of them didn't know what they were talking about, but Su Ming just saw May sometimes laughing and sometimes crying, as if her emotions were very unstable.

Deadpool's self-healing speed has always been a mystery—sometimes fast, sometimes slow, as if he can decide it himself. Now he had fully healed and changed into a new uniform, tiptoeing to Su Ming's side, also peeking out the window.

"Peter is really lucky to have such a beautiful aunt," he said softly with some emotion. "I have been in the orphanage since I can remember; the most beautiful woman I saw was Grandma Ashari, who did the cleaning, and she wasn't even eighty back then."

"You've never met your parents?" Su Ming also asked softly, because the world seems to assume that Wade and he are like brothers, but what about their blood relation?

"We'll go check out my origin story together later; superheroes like me all have origin stories. You have the Time Gem, and I have the Teleportation Belt. We just need to see it ourselves," Wade, upon hearing his cousin's question, came up with another idea.

He was convinced he had an origin story, and once they saw it, wouldn't they know who his parents were?

"Sounds good. Once we deal with the Santa Claus issue, I'll go with you," Su Ming nodded and refocused his gaze on the dining room.

Surveilling with a chatterbox like Wade has its pros and cons.

The pro is his endless chatter, so it won't be boring. The con is it's too easy to be exposed; Peter's Spider Sense almost detected their presence a few times, and they had to bob their heads back and forth at the window like moles.

There's no way they can let May see them. She already dislikes Iron Man, let alone the morally ambiguous Deadpool and Deathstroke. She certainly doesn't want Peter playing with them.

This meal lasted about half an hour. Afterward, May went to wash the dishes, and Peter returned upstairs to play on his computer.

"Let's go up."

Su Ming grabbed Wade by the neck, and the two floated up to the second floor, slipping in through the open window.

Peter, with his mutant genes, wasn't afraid of the cold. To be honest, his room could indeed use some fresh air.

The room was messy; that's how it is with sixteen- or seventeen-year-old boys. The smell of sweat, foot odor, and hormones couldn't be completely dispelled even by the cold wind.

When Wade climbed in through the window, he even stepped on a skateboard; luckily, a stinky sock caught the wheel, or he would have fallen.

There were some posters on the walls, either movie posters or superhero ones. Su Ming even saw Steve's new Hamburg ad, with the black and yellow W taking up a large part of the space.

At this moment, Peter was unaware of the two who slipped in through the window. He was typing intently on his desk computer, and Su Ming and Wade quietly moved behind him to take a peek. They saw he was asking a question on an online message board.

"A pervert has set his sights on my aunt. What should I do? Waiting online, it's quite urgent."

Someone immediately replied below: "911."

Peter shook his head, typing away: "No, the police can't handle it. He's still in the harassment stage, no evidence. Also, the pervert is super-rich."

The previous respondent fell silent. A person that wealthy would indeed be troublesome.

But then someone else suggested another idea: "Do you love your aunt?"

"Of course I love her; she's the most important person to me." Peter typed without hesitation.

"Then you might ask if that pervert is interested in you. You could sacrifice yourself to save your aunt," the other person quickly replied.

Peter's expression turned strange, a mix of helplessness and bemusement: "I'm a guy."

The other person's message popped up immediately: "And being a guy doesn't work?"

"Hiss..." Peter took a cold breath. Even knowing the internet has all kinds of people, did he encounter a creep this quickly?

He hesitated for a long time, choosing his words slowly, typing a line: "Thanks for your advice, but I still can't accept it. Does anyone else have a way?"

After a moment, another answer popped up on the screen: "If you say you love her but won't even eat her foot skin, you... I'm sorry, wrong channel, >_<."

Peter rolled his eyes; who are these people?

.......

Subsequent replies went completely off the rails. Some were curious about Peter's sexual orientation, while others insisted on "no pics, no truth," wanting to see a photo of his aunt. Others simply joined the fray thoughtlessly.

A lot of suggestions were made, but most were nonsensical.

Really, how were these people so idle on Christmas Eve? Maybe that's just life?

Peter communicated with others at the computer for quite a while but didn't get a single useful idea. Feeling somewhat dejected, he turned off the computer, leaned his head back...

"Ah!!!"

Then he saw Deadpool and Deathstroke both standing behind him, fully armed. This caused him to lose his balance, falling backward. The chair tipped, but he was agile enough to jump up, just startled enough to shout.

"Thump, thump, thump..." Footsteps hurriedly came up the stairs outside; May had heard the noise upstairs and was coming: "Peter, what are you doing?"
