The next morning, deep within a part of Skypiea—the current home of the Shandia.
Their leader, the hot-tempered but iron-willed warrior Wiper, stood before the gathered Shandia fighters.
"Don't think chances like this come twice," Wiper said coldly. "I won't miss this opportunity. If anyone isn't mentally prepared… stay here. I won't blame you."
A warrior asked, "Wiper, what do you mean by mentally prepared? We're ready anytime."
Wiper narrowed his eyes. "Are you prepared… to abandon your comrades who fall along the way?"
The words froze the crowd.
Raki—who had grown up beside Wiper—went pale. The conflict had escalated too far, but she lacked the determination to oppose his decision. She could only stare silently at his unwavering back.
The warriors behind them also fell into silence.
But then, for the sake of their ancestors' glory… for the sake of reclaiming the stolen Upper Yard… a powerful resolve burned through the group.
"Those who can step over the corpses of their companions and keep moving forward—follow me!" Wiper declared darkly. "Today, I will take Enel's head!"
Meanwhile, in God's Domain, Enel lounged in his palace, having detected the Shandia's actions with his Observation Haki.
The Ark Maxim was nearly complete after years of effort.
A smirk curled on Enel's lips.
"It's time to head for the Endless Vearth… yahahaha…"
He had already decided—first, he would send everyone in the palace to the afterlife. Then, he would let those entering Upper Yard fight their chaotic battle.
The remaining five survivors?
He would take them with him to the Endless Vearth.
After all, nature should follow nature.
Humans had no place living in the sky.
The sky was where God lived.
Thus, the arrogant, deranged Enel made his decision:
On his way to the Endless Vearth…
He would sink Skypiea itself.
Elsewhere, with the Straw Hat Pirates—
"Do you guys really think it's okay to keep sleeping?" Luffy asked Zoro.
He glanced over and saw Sandy lying comfortably under a tree trunk, smiling in his sleep.
"Hey, Sandy! Wake up! We have to—"
But Sandy sleep-mumbled, "Luffy has two holes in his nose… spiders have ten legs…"
Then promptly continued snoring.
Everyone stared blankly.
Chopper turned slowly to Luffy. "Hmm… he does have two holes…"
He paused.
Then shrieked, "WAIT—don't spiders have eight legs?!"
Luffy frowned confidently. "Spiders have ten legs, okay? Chopper, you should study more. How can you get something that simple wrong?"
Nearby, Nami—who was in a very good mood after sleeping extremely comfortably last night—froze upon hearing the nonsense.
DUANG!
"How long are you going to sleep?! Get up and find the gold!" Nami stomped on Sandy's head.
Sandy sat up with one eye half-closed. "Hmm… did I wake myself up again by being too handsome?"
He slapped his forehead. "Being too handsome is such a burden… I should sleep a bit more…"
Robin's cheeks were unusually rosy today, a little brighter than usual. Watching Sandy flop back down, she let out a soft, elegant laugh.
Seeing him lie down again, Nami exploded. "Usopp! Let go of me! This idiot keeps rambling about being handsome—how is that more important than gold?!"
A little while later, Sandy finally woke up properly.
The Straw Hats split into two groups to search for the gold.
Sandy, Luffy, Zoro, Robin, and Chopper headed into the forest.
Sanji, Nami, Usopp, and Gan Fall took the boat along the waterway.
In the forest
Luffy and Sandy each held a small stick they picked up from the ground, twirling them dramatically like children.
Chopper asked, "Sandy! Can you give me your—"
"Nope," Sandy cut him off instantly.
Chopper turned to Luffy.
"Nope! Pick one yourself!" Luffy said proudly.
Sandy looked at the little reindeer. "Chopper, why are you so brave today? Running into the forest with us."
Chopper puffed up. "I want to be like you guys! A real pirate! I don't want to be scared anymore! Today I'm the BRAVE CHOPPER!"
Sandy laughed. "That's awesome! You're really changing. Here—take my stick."
Chopper gasped. "Really?! Thank you!"
Luffy twirled his stick and suddenly burst into song:
"First verse, the southern island, it's really warm~
Pineapple is yummy, my head is hot—!"
PFFTT—
Sandy stared at him. "Luffy… when did you become a musical genius?!"
Luffy tilted his head. "That's a weird question. I've always been a genius."
Then he continued:
"Second verse, the northern island, it's really cold~
Carp is delicious, my head is shaking—stupid idiot—"
Robin, walking ahead, had sweat pouring down her face.
What kind of lyrics were these?!
Zoro snapped. "You bastard! Shut up already! I swear I'll cut you—this is so damn annoying!"
Sandy and Luffy turned at the same time. "Is it annoying?"
Before Zoro could explode, the ground trembled.
A massive snake slithered around them.
Sandy stopped. "Guys, a big snake is coming."
Zoro scoffed. "Don't panic. If you're scared, hide behind me. I'll handle— WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!"
A snake nearly two hundred meters long towered over them.
Chopper screamed, "HEEEELP!!"
Sandy sighed. "You guys go ahead. I'll play with it for a bit."
He remembered this one.
The Lord of the Sky—tough skin, massive body, but not truly hostile.
Sandy just wanted to wrestle it for fun and test his physical strength.
But the Lord of the Sky saw the intruders approaching its territory and wasted no time.
It opened its gigantic mouth and lunged at Luffy and the others.
"Don't just stand there! Move!" Sandy yelled.
BOOM!
The snake smacked Sandy with its tail, sending him flying like a shooting star.
"DAMN IT!!"
Enraged, Sandy instantly reappeared above the snake's head.
"BASTARD—TAKE MY KICK!!"
BOOOOOOM!!
GROOOOAAAR—!!
The Lord of the Sky collapsed with a thunderous quake after Sandy's strike.
Zoro, watching from afar, muttered, "Hey, hey, hey… isn't this a little too rough?"
Luffy's eyes sparkled. "That looks so fun! I wanna try—!"
"Hey, Luffy—!"
Before anyone could stop him, Luffy rushed forward…
…and the giant snake swallowed him whole.
Everyone froze.
".........…"
