Just as Sandy was lecturing Aisa, Raki—who happened to be passing by—heard the conversation. She jumped onto the Going Merry, walked over, and said gently:
"Aisa… maybe he's right. This isn't something you should get involved in. Go back."
Aisa buried her face in Raki's chest and burst into tears.
"Raki… so many voices of our people have disappeared! I have to go save them!"
Sandy snorted loudly. "Hahaha—little kid, aren't you afraid you'll bite your tongue with such big talk? Anyway… what's the name of the beautiful lady?"
"Huh?" Raki blinked, startled. "Me? I'm Raki. And… thank you for saving Aisa."
Sandy waved dismissively. "We're here to travel and hunt treasure. The Sky Knight has treated the Straw Hat Pirates kindly, and I respect him."
He crossed his arms.
"And we came to find gold. But that gold technically belongs to the Shandia. So—how about we make a deal?"
"Deal?" Everyone echoed, confused.
Sandy nodded.
"I'll take care of Enel. When we find the gold, give us a share. Whatever happens after that is your business."
"Take… take care of Enel?!"
Gan Fall immediately panicked.
"Young man, don't push yourself. Enel truly possesses the power of a God!"
Raki shivered, recalling the companions she had seen struck by lightning.
"Impossible… no one can defeat him."
But Nami's eyes were already replaced by golden bell Beli signs.
"God, no God—whatever! It's just lightning. If Sandy says he can beat him, then he can. Sandy, go!"
Everyone twitched. That switch in attitude was way too fast.
Sandy groaned. "Nami, can you at least pretend?!"
Nami ignored him and shouted.
"Alright! After Sandy defeats Enel and we find the gold—all the gold is ours!"
Sandy rolled his eyes. With that amount of gold, the Merry would sink for sure.
Just as he stood up, Gan Fall rose too.
"What are you doing?" Sandy asked.
Gan Fall responded firmly, "I must settle things with Enel."
Sandy sighed. "Whatever. Just don't die, okay?"
He turned to Nami. "Before I go, aren't you going to give me a good luck kiss?"
Unexpectedly, Nami leaned in and smirked.
"You'd better defeat Enel first. Otherwise—mm mm mm…"
Raki instantly covered Aisa's eyes, blushing furiously.
"Let go! I'm an adult!" Aisa protested.
After a moment, Raki said softly, "Sky Knight… could you take me there?"
"Why?!" Aisa panicked. "You'll die! I don't want that!"
Raki stroked her head.
"Aisa… you must get along with Nami and the others, alright? I need to warn Wyper. You know how reckless he is…"
Sandy scoffed. "Are you saying I can't beat that lightning pervert?"
Raki said nothing. The silence answered for her—she didn't believe he could win.
A companion who survived being hit had told her:
Enel is lightning.
"Ah—!" Raki suddenly squealed, realizing Sandy had lifted her up bridal-style.
"I'll go ahead," Sandy said.
Raki felt the wind blast past her as Sandy sprinted through the air itself.
"Ahhh!" She reflexively grabbed Sandy's neck, terrified.
"Stop screaming!" Sandy stopped in mid-air. "Can you not yell directly into my ear?!"
"What kind of monster are you?! Are you even human!?" Raki gasped.
"Wow, thanks for the compliment," Sandy muttered.
He continued flying—and Raki began screaming again.
Fed up, Sandy leaned down and used his mouth to silence her.
Raki froze. Completely red.
A moment later, they landed near ancient ruins.
Inside the Trial of Iron, Zoro, Luffy, and Wyper were facing off against Ohm, one of Enel's priests.
Wyper, as usual, treated anyone not Shandian as an enemy.
Sandy didn't join immediately.
The moment he just experienced with Raki… yeah, he needed a second to savor it.
Raki attempted to regain her composure and stepped forward, but Sandy stopped her.
"Miss Raki… you're really beautiful."
Her face turned crimson again.
"You… you…"
Minutes later, weak-kneed but collected, she asked, "Are we… at the destination now?"
Sandy nodded. "Yeah. But be careful. I might not have time to protect you."
Raki's cheeks burned.
"I-I'll take care of myself. Let's go."
The Trial of Iron surrounded the area with iron clouds—forming a giant cage. A battle royale inside until only the winner remained.
Sandy was unimpressed.
He could enter or exit whenever he wanted.
The combatants inside turned toward Sandy and Raki as they arrived.
"Yo, Sandy! Morning!" Luffy grinned.
Wyper shouted, "Raki! Why did you come here?! Go back!"
Raki cried out, "Wyper, listen! Enel—"
CRACKLE—!
A burst of blue lightning tore the air.
Enel's silhouette blurred into view right in front of Sandy and Raki.
"Oh? Were you looking for me?" And instantly, he appeared inside the cage as well.
"Yahahahaha!" Enel tossed an apple in his hand.
"There were supposed to be seven left… now there are eight. No—nine."
He looked upward.
Gan Fall was approaching on his flying bird.
"Enel!" Wyper roared, adjusting the bazooka on his shoulder.
Enel raised a hand lazily.
"There are still five minutes. During those five minutes, I won't act. So—continue."
CRACKLE—
He vanished again.
Sandy narrowed his eyes.
Enel's movement was fast, precise, and terrifying.
How do I land a killing blow on someone with Observation Haki that strong… and a body made of lightning?
He needed a plan.
And he needed it soon.
