Zoro was the first to speak.
"Sandy, how exactly did you do that just now? Can swordsmanship really reach that level?"
Usopp leaned in excitedly. "Yeah! Explain it! What kind of monster are you!?"
Sandy sighed. "It was the Rumble-Rumble Fruit. I condensed lightning and released it through swordsmanship. The lightning got out of control and shot in the direction I swung. That's why it caused such a huge scene…"
Sanji rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"A combination of lightning and swordsmanship… Sandy's actually a genius."
Usopp waved him off.
"Is now really the time to admire him!? Oh right, Sandy! That spatial jump you did last night—what was that about!?"
Sandy rolled his eyes.
"That? Simple. Space Fruit. I just do short-distance transfers inside a Space Field. Use the ability a few times in a row and that's it."
Kind of like when he took Nami to Drum Island—just more polished now.
Chopper suddenly realized something.
"No wonder the ship kept appearing in one spot, then falling, then repeating over and over…"
"Whoaaa…" Usopp grabbed Zoro's arm dramatically.
"Zoro, I'm so jealous of Sandy's abilities! He's not even afraid of Sea Stone or the sea! It's so convenient!"
"Let go of me!" Zoro shoved him away. "Stop wiping your snot on me. It's disgusting."
Chopper hopped over to Sandy.
"Sandy, are you invincible?"
"Invincible?" Sandy laughed and patted Chopper's fuzzy head.
"If someone thinks they're invincible, the grass on their grave is usually two meters tall. Never think that way. Besides, Luffy's Rubber Fruit isn't bad either."
Everyone turned to stare at Luffy. Luffy grinned, thumbs up, overflowing with pride.
Nami stretched out Luffy's nose.
"All it does is stretch. Is there anything special about it?"
Sandy explained patiently,
"As a rubber man, it's not that damage doesn't affect Luffy—it's that the force isn't strong enough. If the impact is strong enough in a short burst, he'll feel pain.
Everything inside him has become rubber. That means he basically can't suffer internal injuries. In other words—Luffy is extremely durable."
Usopp deadpanned.
"So he's just durable."
Sandy continued, "If Luffy had Armament Haki, what kind of attack could even injure him? He barely takes internal damage and can't break bones easily.
Plus, rubber gives him flexibility in both close and long-range attacks. The elasticity boosts his offensive power too."
"Hehehe!" Luffy puffed his chest proudly.
"I knew it! The Rubber Fruit is the strongest!"
"You shameless idiot," Sandy shot back. "Lasers and swords can still hurt you."
Zoro crossed his arms.
"So there's nothing absolute in this world?"
"Wrong!" Sandy declared.
"Relative stillness. Absolute motion."
Zoro's face darkened. Was the comeback necessary?
Still, Zoro asked, "If it was just swordsmanship alone… could it reach the same effect as earlier?"
Sandy nodded seriously.
"Yes. Anyone can become extraordinary if they maximize their characteristics."
Instant confidence erupted.
Usopp: "So I can also become amazing!?"
Chopper: "If I push my Human-Human Fruit to the extreme, can I be extraordinary too!?"
Nami shyly toyed with her hair. "Don't say that about me… I'm just a beautiful girl."
Everyone glared at Sandy, silently blaming him for making them this shameless.
Sandy coughed and quickly changed the topic.
"Nami, how long until we reach the next island?"
Nami ignored him, lost in thought.
Could she really become that amazing someday?
No way. That'd make her too violent, wouldn't it?
"NAMI!!" Sandy yelled.
"Duang!"
Nami smacked him instantly.
"Why are you shouting!? I'm listening! What did you want to say?"
Everyone collapsed.
Luffy overheard Nami mention it would take over two days to reach the next island and immediately dragged Sandy off to fish.
But Sandy wasn't in the mood. Instead, he pulled out the Dials he had collected from Skypiea from his Space Backpack and handed them to Usopp.
Usopp's eyes sparkled.
"You brought back this many Dials!? We're rich!"
Sandy pulled Nami closer.
"Nami, give your weapon to Usopp. Have him modify it. Try installing these Dials into your Clima-Tact."
Nami was so moved that she kissed Sandy on the cheek.
Sanji instantly exploded.
"Nami-swaaaan! I want one too—!"
Both Sandy and Nami kicked him away in sync.
With the Dials, Nami's Thunder Tempo, Wind Tempo, Rain Tempo, Fog Tempo—all could finally take proper form.
If she wanted to upgrade it further, that would depend entirely on Nami. Nobody understood her abilities better than she did.
Robin stayed on the side with her usual calm. She already had her own self-defense ability, and Sandy wouldn't dare force brutal training on a beauty like her.
For a while, everyone worked on their own tasks.
