In the forest, after Sandy and Luffy secretly finished their private feast, each of them carried an animal on their shoulders as they returned.
On the way back, Sandy reminded him, "Luffy, listen carefully. If they ask whether we secretly ate anything, you absolutely must not say we did. Got it?"
Luffy tilted his head. "Why? We did eat a lot just now."
"You idiot!" Sandy hissed. "If you're not afraid of Nami beating you into the dirt, then go ahead and tell the truth—but don't drag me into it!"
Rustle…
Sandy tried hard to hold back his laughter. "Zoro, weren't you supposed to go collect fruit with Usopp and the others? Why are you coming from that direction?"
Luffy nodded. "Yeah! We went left earlier. How are you coming from the right? Don't tell me you got lost again?"
Without blinking, Zoro replied, "They're the ones who got lost. Also, your prey is tiny. Look at mine."
Luffy immediately puffed his chest up. "Let's compare—"
Sandy grabbed his collar before he could escalate it. "It's already dark. Let's go back!"
As soon as they reached the coast, Nami questioned them immediately.
"Usopp, Chopper—I sent you to collect fruit. And you come back empty-handed?!"
Usopp instantly began spinning nonsense. "Nami, you don't understand. In the forest, I went through the terrifying Great Usopp Adventure—"
Nami shoved him aside with one hand, then looked toward Sandy, Luffy, and Zoro.
Before she could even ask, Luffy panicked, sweating buckets.
"Nami! We really went hunting! We definitely didn't secretly eat anything—"
He realized his mistake and slapped both hands over his mouth.
Sandy, dead inside, wanted to kick him straight into the ocean.
After dinner, Sandy took a gulp of beer and sighed, "Sanji's bastardly barbecue is truly amazing."
Zoro grinned. "Barbecue and beer. Can't beat that combination."
Chopper's eyes sparkled. "Is this the life of a pirate? It's awesome!"
Sanji, annoyed, snapped, "Luffy, you idiot—!"
Because Luffy, having healed his burned hands, was already reaching toward the grill again.
Robin chuckled softly, still sitting elegantly by herself. "Are you all planning to camp here tonight?"
Nami shook her head. "Let's return to the ship. I still prefer a warm bed." She raised an empty bottle. "Sandy, another beer."
"Me too!" Luffy cheered. "Beer is the best! Hehehe!"
Sandy rolled his eyes. "I swear, we're getting closer to Navy Headquarters. We should train tomorrow."
"Training?" Everyone looked confused.
Zoro's eyes lit up. "Not a bad idea."
Luffy immediately jumped in. "I wanna join!"
"We'll talk tomorrow." Sandy casually pounced on Chopper. "You bastard! You stole my favorite bite again!"
Meanwhile, on the Moby Dick—
An oil lamp flickered softly. Whitebeard, the strongest man in the world, sat in his room with an uncharacteristically concerned expression.
Footsteps approached. It was the First Division Commander—Marco.
"Marco." Whitebeard asked, "Any news about Ace? It's been so many days…"
Marco carried two wanted posters—Luffy and Sandy.
After handing them over, he answered, "No definite news, but someone saw him in the East Blue."
"East Blue?" Whitebeard chuckled. But when he looked down at the posters, he couldn't help but raise his eyebrows.
Ace often bragged about his younger brother's wanted poster, always smiling like a fool whenever he talked about Luffy.
Naturally, Whitebeard grew curious about the kid—with that hat especially, which reminded him of an old friend.
Then he looked at the second poster.
Sandy's bounty.
Originally: 250 Belly.
Everyone had laughed themselves to death over it.
But in just a few days—
250 Belly → 300,000,000 Belly
A ridiculous leap.
Whitebeard couldn't help but wonder what kind of absurd disaster this crewmate of Ace's brother had caused.
Marco sat down and repeated, "Someone saw Ace in the East Blue."
Whitebeard sighed in relief. "If he's safe, there's no need for worry."
Marco hesitated. "Old Man, with Ace's strength, he shouldn't have trouble in the East Blue. Why are you uneasy?"
Whitebeard shook his head. "Don't know. Just a feeling that something big is coming."
The room grew quiet.
Then Whitebeard suddenly laughed.
"Gurararara… No need to worry. I am Whitebeard."
He lifted the wanted posters.
"So? What's with these two brats?"
Marco pointed at Luffy's poster. "Ace's younger brother defeated Crocodile—the Shichibukai Crocodile."
Whitebeard raised an eyebrow. "Ace's brother is quite something. Even Sand Crocodile can slip up. What about the other one?"
Marco struggled not to laugh.
"Storm D. Sandy. According to intel, he appeared in Sabaody a year ago. There, in a toilet, he ran into a Celestial Dragon.
They argued. Sandy knocked the Celestial Dragon unconscious… then spat a giant glob of phlegm on his face."
Whitebeard burst out laughing.
"Gurararara! So he's an arrogant bastard!"
Marco continued, barely holding it together.
"That's not all. After that, he panicked, boarded a random ship… which just so happened to be Garp's ship. He was sent to the East Blue with that stubborn old man.
One year later, Storm D. Sandy went out to sea as a pirate—with Garp's grandson, Ace's younger brother. Imagine Garp's expression, hahaha!"
Whitebeard laughed even louder.
"Gurararara! I bet that old man is sleeping soundly right now!"
"What's so funny, Old Man? Marco?"
The other commanders heard the noise and walked in.
Within minutes, the entire ship was filled with roaring laughter.
