As Sanji went to cook, Sandy quickly pulled Luffy and Zoro aside.
"What's wrong? Something else?" Zoro asked.
Luffy grumbled, "Don't stop me, I'm hungry!"
Sandy sighed, "Cooking takes time! Let me show you a new ability I came up with!"
"Oh?"
Not only was Zoro curious, but Chopper—who was supporting Usopp—leaned forward in anticipation. Soon, everyone was watching.
These past few days, Sandy had been pondering a question:
Could the Space Fruit shatter space like a mirror?
When Whitebeard used the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, the world cracked like broken glass. Sandy wanted to look cool too.
So, on the coast, Sandy took his stance while the others watched in silence.
"Crack!"
Sandy activated his spatial ability, roared, and punched both sides.
The result shocked everyone—
Two small mirror-like fractures appeared in the air beside him.
"What kind of move is this? A space ability?"
"Whoa, that looks powerful! So cool!"
"I didn't know Sandy could do something like this! But… it doesn't really look like it does anything?"
"Crack, crack… rumble—"
The ground beneath Sandy suddenly collapsed.
Everyone stared at him blankly.
Did he… punch himself into a hole?
Sandy stared at the ground in depression.
Sure enough, Space Fruit ≠ Tremor Fruit.
Whitebeard could transmit vibration through space.
But Sandy's Space Fruit didn't contain "shock" properties.
Space was just space.
And Sandy's punch had simply… collapsed the area closest to him.
The power couldn't travel outward at all.
At dinner, Sandy ate with his head down, too embarrassed to show off again.
You can't see me… you can't see me…
Sanji smirked. "Sandy, your ability is really useful."
Usopp nodded. "Yeah, you almost eliminated yourself."
Sandy groaned, "Let's stop talking about that. Nami, tell me how your Mirage Tempo works later. I'll develop a new move, and you guys better prepare yourselves—you might get scared."
"Huh? Where's my noodles?"
"Hot! Hot! Hot!"
Luffy had poured Sandy's entire bowl into his own mouth.
"..."
The next day, Sandy had already explained everything important. For the rest, he didn't plan to interfere. Life and death were their own problem; they probably wouldn't die anyway.
Most importantly, Sandy had his own goal—
to tour Water 7 freely.
It would be ridiculous not to explore one of the world's most beautiful cities.
Especially that stunning beauty named Kalifa…
He really missed being kicked by her again. Those smooth, long legs…
"Hey, Sandy," Luffy asked, "what's so delicious that you're drooling?"
Drooling?
"Cough—cough!" Sandy choked on his own saliva.
"You walk without making a sound! You scared me!"
At that moment, Nami arrived with a newspaper.
"Everyone, something big happened. Iceburg—the guy who showed us around the shipyard yesterday—was shot several times. They say he's in critical condition."
"What?!" Luffy yelled. "He's such a good guy! I wanna go see him!"
Sandy said, "Then go. I'm going to stroll around Water 7."
"Stroll around what?" Nami said, unimpressed. "You're coming with Luffy. Someone needs to keep him from causing trouble. Forget it, I'll go too."
In the end, Sandy, Luffy, and Nami headed toward Dock 1, leaving the others on the ship.
When they arrived, the area was crowded with citizens who also came to check on Iceburg.
To be honest, Sandy already knew who shot Iceburg, but he was too lazy to speak up. After yesterday's chaos, he felt exhausted. This didn't fit his original "travel the seas and relax" plan at all.
"Dong, dong dong, dong… dong dong…"
Suddenly, loud music blasted as a man wearing nothing but underwear appeared on a bridge—two women beside him copying his movements.
"OWWWW!"
Who else?
Franky.
He danced, struck exaggerated poses, and pointed downward.
"Hey! You guys calling my name?"
"Who the hell is calling you? Get lost!" The citizens jeered.
Franky ignored them, danced harder, put his hands above his head, twisted, and declared:
"Don't be shy, everyone! Listen carefully—my great name is—"
"Bastard Franky! Are you the one who attacked Iceburg?!"
"Is it him?"
"Of course it's him! Get off this island!"
"Let's catch this hooligan and hang him!"
"So loud…" Franky muttered mid-dance. "You noisy flies. I am the most amazing SUPER man on this island! The Big Brother of Water 7! Everyone calls me… huh… Franky."
"Ah!" Luffy suddenly shouted. "So this pervert is that… um… whatever-his-name is! The guy who stole our money and beat up Usopp!"
Sandy nodded. "Yep. That idiot."
As soon as they said that, Franky's expression twisted with anger.
"What did you brats say?! F-Franky—"
He leapt down from the bridge and landed in front of them.
"Hahaha!" Franky barked. "So you're his companions? Why so serious? The money is ours. That's just how the world works! No one cares if you rob pirates. It's probably dirty money anyway! Hahaha! Just hand it over."
Sandy laughed too.
"Luffy, is this idiot's head squeezed by a door? He steals our money and still acts like he's doing charity."
But Luffy didn't laugh.
He stepped forward.
"Where's our money? And—"
Before he finished, Franky punched him straight in the face.
What confused Sandy was that Luffy could've easily dodged…
but didn't.
What was that supposed to mean?
As Luffy flew back from the punch, Franky struck another pose.
"Hey! Hey! You've successfully pissed off this Big Daddy! This week, no one can stop me! I'm gonna—"
Before he could finish—
Sandy snapped.
"Crackle—!!"
A flash of blue lightning streaked across the air.
"Hey, you ignorant fool—
have you ever been kicked at the speed of light?"
"BOOM—!!"
Franky was blasted away before he even registered what happened.
Luffy might be able to endure it…
but Sandy definitely couldn't.
Franky was simply too damn arrogant.
