After listening to Robin's narration, Franky made his own decision: burn the blueprints that Spandam most desired.
Spandam, burning with rage, pushed Franky down the stairs.
Franky tumbled all the way down, landing right on top of the Puffing Tom Rocketman, which Kokoro was driving.
The Straw Hat Crew—pushed down by Luffy—also happened to fall onto the Rocketman.
When the Rocketman crashed into the building where Robin was held, Spandam ordered Rob Lucci of Cipher Pol 9 to cover him, while the others blocked all routes to stop the pirates trying to rescue Robin.
Sandy, who was standing atop the roof of the Judicial Tower, was extremely annoyed. Why didn't these idiots give him a heads-up before doing something this crazy?
Still… it was good for them to actually experience this. Robin's safety wasn't a problem.
Besides, if Sandy moved personally, he could just snatch Robin back in an instant—
but then what would Luffy and the others feel about their own worth?
Was this the reason why Usopp once felt like he had no presence?
So Sandy didn't plan to intervene yet; he'd let them realize their own strength.
Soon after, Sandy opened the pheromone system, which he hadn't checked in a long time. He communicated mentally:
"Pheromone system, open my personal panel."
But the system didn't respond. Instead, a notification popped up:
[The pheromone system is currently undergoing optimization.]
"...…"
Sandy was speechless. They couldn't at least warn him before optimizing?
Whatever. First, he needed to help the others escape.
Thinking that, Sandy used his Rumble-Rumble Fruit ability and flew down along the passage Zoro had cut open—because the Franky Family and the shipwrights were surrounded.
In the main hall of the Judicial Tower, the Franky Family was fully surrounded by Marines.
Crackle…
A burst of blue lightning flashed in the center of the hall.
Who else could it be but Sandy?
Barry recognized him immediately. "You—how did you appear here? Isn't the person you want to rescue still not saved yet?"
Sandy greeted them casually. "Hello everyone. She hasn't been rescued yet, but don't worry—she will be. I came here to tell you that you need to return the way you came, right now."
"What a joke!" Zambai shouted. "If we leave, what about you!?"
"Space Field—scan."
Four Eternal Poses and two Den-Den Mushi suddenly floated into Sandy's hands. He handed two Eternal Poses and one Den-Den Mushi to them.
"You guys need to head back to the outskirts of Enies Lobby first. This place is about to be destroyed—people, buildings, everything."
"Destroyed? Seriously?"
"He must be lying!"
"What a joke! Why should we trust a pirate?!"
"Hahaha! This is Enies Lobby, an important fortress of the World Government! Destroyed? Sleep God Sandy, what nonsense are you talking about!?"
The chief judge—the weird three-man judge wearing one big coat—stepped forward with a gloomy expression.
"Pirates! You are all evil! Today I shall execute justice here! Quickly—"
CLANG—
Before he could finish, a razor-sharp blade sliced cleanly through all three of their throats.
Their words died with them as their bodies collapsed.
The Marines gulped.
The Franky Family gulped.
Even the shipwrights gulped.
"Talking about 'evil' every damn second. It's annoying." Sandy said calmly, pointing his sword at the Marines.
"I don't want a massacre, so I'm warning you: let them go. Don't force me. If you want to live, escape."
One stubborn Marine stepped out. "What a joke! For justice—!"
"If you want to die, I'll grant your wish," Sandy said coldly. "But don't drag others into it. Do you even know what a Buster Call is?"
"Buster… Call?"
"That's right," Sandy said. "A Buster Call wipes out everything on an island. People, buildings, allies—everything. I've said enough. Move. Do you really think I have a good temper?"
Both sides tensed, just moments away from clashing.
Then Spandam's voice rang out through the broadcast system.
That idiot had taken Robin toward the Gate of Justice, and while running, accidentally pulled out a Golden Den-Den Mushi, mistaking it for a normal one.
Like in the original story, he dramatically triggered the Buster Call.
"D-Damn it! This is bad! I—I pressed the Golden Den-Den Mushi! I actually activated the Buster Call!!!"
Spandam's panicked shriek echoed across the entire island.
"B-Buster Call!?"
"What is this!? A prank!?"
The Marines didn't fully believe it—until the broadcast continued.
Robin: "What foolish thing have you done!? Cancel it quickly! Otherwise, it will be unstoppable!"
Spandam: "Cancel!? Why should I cancel it!? Hahaha! What's wrong with activating a Buster Call!? What's wrong with it!?"
"That's right! I'm the superior officer of CP9! I activated it to safely deliver you to the World Government! If this place gets destroyed, the pirates will die anyway, hahaha!"
Robin: "You idiot! A Buster Call isn't that simple! It destroys EVERYTHING—buildings, people, even the island! It's a nightmare bombardment that sacrifices everything!"
Spandam: "Who cares!? For the Government, it's nothing! And since Cutty Flam burned the Pluton blueprints, only YOU can help us find clues to the ancient weapons!
This is related to a power that can change an entire era. Sacrificing some useless soldiers is normal. Besides… this is related to my position!"
Robin: "What do you consider human life!?"
Spandam: "Don't forget—CP9 is the World Government's underground organization! If saving a thousand people requires killing a hundred, we kill the hundred without hesitation! True justice doesn't need mercy!
And those incompetent soldiers who can't stop pirates are worthless! HAHAHA—!"
Robin: "Was that Den-Den Mushi… on a call?"
Spandam suddenly screamed, "Crap! Was everything I said broadcast!? W-Well… that's how it is! I—MY NAME IS—Straw Hat Luffy!!!"
In the hall:
"BULLSHIT!!!"
The Marines roared in unison.
"Bwahahaha!!" Sandy burst out laughing, clutching his stomach. "This guy is really a talent! Anyway—those who want to die can stay here."
He turned to the Franky Family and the Carrera Company shipwrights.
"You guys leave now. Take the Eternal Pose and the Den-Den Mushi. Our navigator will contact you later. I'm heading out."
