CHAPTER 34: LESSONS
SILVER'S POV
After slamming the door shut, I don't look at the guards or anyone else as I storm to my room and slam that door too. I slide down it, my shoulders trembling. I try to breathe through my nose and blink fast to stop the tears from escaping. I can't believe Caleb would really do this to me. It must be a very awful dream.
Nothing is working. Nothing. It's like she's always one step ahead of me. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Maybe I should give it up? No, what am I even saying? I breathe a little more and stand up, dusting my clothes properly. I have to remain level-headed. I dry my tears and start pacing the room.
