Chapter 73 - Chapter Seventy-Two: Kali (Part Two)

Just as Obi-Wan and Great Master Qui-Gon were investigating in Kalee's largest city, Kote's hyperion and his fleet finally arrived at the outer reaches of Kalee.

Captain Karius immediately became nervous upon seeing an unfamiliar fleet in the outer reaches of Kalee, fearing it was the Republic's Judicial Forces coming to eliminate them, so he quickly sent a communication request.

"Hello, I am Captain Karius Hickman of the Yamri people's indomitable. May I ask why your fleet has come to the system we control?" Captain Karius looked at Kote opposite him, trembling with fear.

"Hello, Captain Karius. I am Captain Kote Vizsla of the hyperion. I was hired by the Kaili people to conduct humanitarian aid, and I am also Councilman Kote who criticized you Yamri people in the Council," Kote briefly introduced himself, first letting the other party know who he was, as he couldn't let someone die unknowingly.

Karius was truly shocked this time. He had heard of this fellow's name and background from their representative, and it could even be said that Kote was the biggest obstacle to this attack.

After all, if it weren't for him, his army might have already taken over the entire Kalee by now. The entire western hemisphere was already in his hands, but this meddling Mandalore just had to appear.

Even his side's cooperation with the Trade Federation almost fell through, but fortunately, after giving more credit points, the Trade Federation's ships did not withdraw.

"So you are Councilman Kote. We have already ceased our attack on the Kaili people, and the Republic's Jedi Ambassador has come to investigate, and we are preparing to negotiate with him," Karius recounted the conversation he had just had with Obi-Wan and the others.

"I understand. So we are only here to provide humanitarian aid and supervise the matter throughout, so you don't need to worry," Kote also smiled. After all, Obi-Wan and the others acted too quickly; he had originally planned to board their ship and talk.

Kote ended the communication, and the fleet immediately headed towards Kalee's surface, preparing to deliver the brought supplies and food to the local Kaili people.

"Nehaal, which is your Kaili people's largest city? We'll go there directly," Kote asked Nehaal beside him, as having a local guide was best.

"Kalee City, it's in the east, but I've only heard adults talk about it and never been there. I heard it's a place where gods reside, the homeland of all Kaili people," Nehaal said with longing.

"A place where gods reside, huh? If only there really were gods," Kote instructed his adjutant to head to Kalee City in the eastern hemisphere.

Meanwhile, inside Kalee City, Obi-Wan and Great Master Qui-Gon were questioning the Kaili people about the truth of the Yamri people's invasion, and they quickly gathered a complete picture of the events.

More than ten years ago, the Yamri people discovered Kalee and began trading with the Kaili people under the guise of cooperative trade. After exchanging Kalee's resources, one night they suddenly claimed that the Kaili people had attacked Yam'ri soldiers. Subsequently, as if prepared, many robots appeared in the sky and attacked them.

In less than five years, the entire western hemisphere was occupied by them. However, due to the eastern hemisphere's superior population and weaponry, they temporarily resisted the Yamri people, and under the leadership of two demigods, they could even launch counterattacks from time to time.

But the Yamri people halted their advance into the eastern hemisphere and began to plunder all resources and Kaili people in the western hemisphere. However, two months ago, they resumed their offensive, even more intensely than before.

"So the Yamri people claimed that the Kaili people attacked them, leading to a swift counterattack that also took over the entire western hemisphere, which they then began to integrate and sell," Obi-Wan understood the full picture of the situation and knew this was an old Move in the Galaxy, as many similar planets had been invaded under such pretexts before.

"Great Master, what should we do? Report to the Council?" Obi-Wan asked.

"You go report to the Council first, I'll continue to investigate," Qui-Gon stayed behind to gather more evidence and planned to talk to their current rulers in the temple.

Returning to the ship, Obi-Wan saw the hyperion in the sky above.

"This! Come up here!" Obi-Wan communicated to Kote.

Kote also parked the hyperion on the outskirts of the forest, while the other herculean transport ships were parked closer to the city.

The Kaili people, upon seeing such a large vessel, even forgot to hide, as it was simply beyond their ability to resist. Hilar, in the temple, seeing such a massive ship, even entertained the thought of surrendering, but thankfully, it did not attack them, and he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Quick, I will personally lead people to welcome the esteemed guests from other planets!" Hilar immediately led an army of tens of thousands to the outer circle of the forest.

At this time, Kote had already disembarked with his people, and the Kaili people, returning to Kalee, kissed the ground beneath their feet and knelt in worship towards the distant temple.

The Mandalore people began to scout the surroundings, ready to protect Kote if any danger arose.

"This is Kalee City?" Kote looked at the city, which was indistinguishable from a refugee camp in the distance.

"It wasn't like this originally," Obi-Wan walked over. "According to the Kaili people, this is their holy city, no different from the Jedi Order's Temple on Coruscant," he explained.

"Then it seems the Yamri people's attack forced them to cower at the feet of their gods," Kote shook his head. "Unload all the food!" he shouted towards the twenty herculean-class positions.

"Jabba, you lead the Kaili people in distributing food. This should be enough for them to eat for a few days, but make sure there are no stampedes or looting incidents. Let the Kaili people know who is extending a helping hand," Kote said to the company Commander beside him.

"Understood, Commander. The guns in our hands will make them understand," Jabba nodded and led the Kaili people from Mandalore to distribute food.

Upon hearing this, they immediately knelt and began kowtowing to Kote. Kote couldn't stand it and urged them to quickly distribute the food.

"Vadir's food production is that good?" Obi-Wan walked over and asked.

"Yes, now the entire Vadir's output is enough to feed the people of the entire Mandalorian System and Kyber System, and even more is exported annually, because the people of Vadir only farm and fight. If you don't let them fight, they have no choice but to farm," Kote said helplessly.

"Then isn't the entire planet covered in fields?" Obi-Wan asked.

"No, only one continent is fully cultivated and managed entirely by robots. Now, people don't even need to personally farm," Kote laughed, thinking of the idle Vadir residents.

"If the entire Galaxy were like this, it would be wonderful," Obi-Wan said with a hint of sadness.

Noticing Obi-Wan's mood was off, Kote quickly asked, "What's wrong? Thinking of my Cousin? It's been three years, hasn't it? Didn't you drop by to see her last time you went to Vadir?" Kote teased Obi-Wan.

"What nonsense are you talking about? Of course I went," Kote's words immediately broke Obi-Wan's mood, and he was no longer so down.

"I know what you're thinking. As long as we are changing, that's all that matters. Don't think too much," Kote suddenly became serious again.

"It's really hard to accept how quickly your mood changes," Obi-Wan was also a bit helpless. What on earth was going on in this kid's head?

"It's innate, can't be helped," Kote shrugged helplessly.
