As Sophie told him about the Eugene she found in the facility, Arthur's mind was churning violently. His heart felt like it was stabbed, sprinkled with salt, thrown into a boiling sulfur, and then stored inside a freezing cube. The image he had of the Eugene in the facility and the 'Gin' he met at the bar a few months before then overlapped, and he was at a loss for words.
Such a confident, aloof, fine specimen of a man became a husk of a burdened soul who unconsciously kept throwing his life away.
And he was the one causing it.
