Uri shot up out of bed, his heart pounding. He felt as though he had had a long dream, but he couldn't remember what it was. He knew he felt happy, but that's all it was. He looked at his surroundings. The same room he had had for so many years. He sighed, rubbing his hand on the fur.
He prepared himself for the morning hunt. As he walked outside, he found the guards outside his door. He had once tried to escape the expectations of the tribe but failed. He wanted to go out and see the continent, but his parents were overprotective. He could only go as far as the hunting grounds.
After trying to escape once, his Ba had placed him under house arrest that never ended. Now, he walked around with guards everywhere.
Not long after he left the house, he met Jrella. His parents had always favoured her as a candidate for being his mate. But he couldn't feel anything towards her. There was no spark or glimmer. He could see that she liked him, but he didn't feel the same.
