Chapter 261 - Escaping the Trap, the Queen's True Form

Emerald wings, crimson hair, a million faces and mouths speaking a million tongues. He is the Angel of Mercy and Justice, the Prince of God, the Vice-Lord of Heaven, and the Lord of Light.

In legend, he once annihilated the 185,000-strong Assyrian army that invaded Jerusalem in a single night; he stopped Abraham from sacrificing his son, Isaac. He summoned Moses from the burning bush to lead the Hebrews out of Egypt; he captured and imprisoned the Thousand-Year-Old Serpent, Satan.

This was Michael, one of Heaven's Four Archangels, a Seraphim of the Holy Side.

In biblical legend, this Seraphim could rival the Demon Lord Satan. But in Zhou Yi's eyes, he was nothing special. Looking at the pair of wings in his own hands, a strange thought even crossed his mind.

After all, in the book *Introduction to the Heavenly Steps*, wings were the symbol of an angel's rank. Ordinary lower-level angels had only one pair of wings, while only the highest-ranking Seraphim of the Holy Side possessed six pairs. Now, Michael, a Seraphim, had one of his pairs of wings in Zhou Yi's hands. So, was he still a Seraphim?

Zhou Yi began to look forward to their next meeting. Of course, that was assuming Michael still dared to show his face.

Abandoning this somewhat impractical fantasy, Zhou Yi withdrew the divine power he had infused, allowing Michael's wing to once again transform into a mass of light and shadow. At this moment, he turned his attention to the blood pool.

The stone tiles above the blood pool were already cracked with wide fissures. The boiling water from the pool overflowed through the cracks, pressing against the tiles and causing them to fall away one by one until the entire pool began to collapse.

The boiling water started to flood the ground, and without the pool's containment, the gushing torrent grew more voluminous and turbid. Soon, the heart of the castle was completely submerged.

Faced with this situation, Zhou Yi narrowed his eyes and stared at the wellhead. At the same time, he shouted toward it.

"Lilith, aren't you looking for me? I'm already here. Why haven't you come out yet? Could it be that a single angel has made the former Queen of the Red Sea shrink back in fear?"

As the words fell, a woman's seductive chuckle echoed from the void.

"So this is the new god of the Human World? Truly a majestic sight, enough to command one's admiration!"

With the appearance of this female voice, the water erupting from beneath the ground abruptly turned into a blood-red liquid. Thick blood, carrying a sickeningly sweet scent, surged forth. In a mere few breaths, the bloody water had already covered the pool, transforming the entire stone chamber into a roiling Sea of Blood. The phenomenon was no longer confined to the chamber; the entire castle began to sink into this same crimson ocean.

"I don't possess your grand talents, being able to gain the upper hand against the Vice-Lord of Heaven. A prisoner like me can only obediently cower in a dark corner, avoiding the blinding light and harm, to survive a little longer."

Hearing Lilith speak in such a self-deprecating tone, Zhou Yi couldn't help but narrow his eyes.

"As a former Goddess, is this all the dignity you have left? Even one of Jehovah's hounds can scare you into hiding. If you were to face Jehovah directly, wouldn't you lack even the courage to speak!"

"A hound is sometimes more terrifying than its master." Lilith ignored Zhou Yi's mockery, her voice still dripping with the same seductive charm that could captivate any man. "I have lost my former glory. Babylonian Sumer has fallen. Assyria and Canaan have vanished into the void. There are hardly any temples or shrines of mine left in this world. I am at my weakest right now. If I were to act recklessly at a time like this, perhaps my name would be recorded in future texts as one of the demons slain by Jehovah."

At this, her tone shifted abruptly, becoming sharp and commanding, crackling with tension.

"I was sealed for over two thousand years. My followers and subjects were slaughtered to the last man. My faith was absorbed into his. Even my own existence was twisted into a footnote of his 'great achievements.' With such a past, how could I ever simply fade away? I, too, have been waiting for my revenge."

A woman's hatred, once it takes root, is a terrifying thing. And Lilith was no ordinary woman. She was a queen. A goddess. A true witch. To be the target of her resentment for two millennia meant that even someone bearing the names of God and the Lord would not meet a pleasant end.

Zhou Yi was eager to see this outcome. As the Mingwang, he felt an instinctive loathing for Jehovah, who claimed the title of Lord. Only the sun could be called the Ruler of the Heavens. What right did a mere leader of a flock of bird-men have to be so arrogant?

Thus, the meaning Lilith had hinted at aligned perfectly with his own desires.

"Very well. You haven't disappointed me after all."

With these words, Zhou Yi produced the Pyramid. Divine Fire erupted from his five fingers, fiercely incinerating everything upon its surface. The Lord's Seal was no match for Zhou Yi's Divine Fire. In an instant, the angelic carvings on the Pyramid dissolved into a wisp of blue smoke, completely vaporized. The Holy Blood of Lilith contained within, as if suddenly granted life, transformed into a streak of red light and plunged into the roiling waves of the Sea of Blood below.

Immediately, the entire Sea of Blood seemed to erupt in jubilation. Countless torrents of thick blood began to rise in a grotesque manner, defying all laws of physics as if they had entered a zero-gravity state. They detached from the Sea of Blood, stretching out to form one unique individual after another.

Each individual remained connected to the Sea of Blood by a single crimson thread, yet as they detached, they began to undergo their own unique transformations. Upon the surface of the Sea of Blood, an endless evolution unfolded.

Birds, beasts, trees, flowers, men, women, angels, and demons—one form after another emerged from the blood. They stretched and moved freely, their teeming numbers nearly covering the entire surface of the Sea of Blood.

Every single being seemed to possess a vivid life of its own, yet each was merely a clone of the Sea of Blood. They were drops of water in a vast ocean, and also a part of the power that constituted Lilith.

They were Lilith's life, her incarnations. As long as this Sea of Blood never ran dry, Lilith would never perish.

This was Lilith's power. The power she had once severed from herself. And now, it had returned to its origin.

Lilith's piercing voice echoed through the Sea of Blood once more. It was filled with extreme excitement, and the smug pleasure of a scheme successfully executed.

"Excellent, excellent. Finally, my power has returned. Jehovah, after two thousand years... in the end, I have outmaneuvered you."

"You thought you could evaporate my Sea of Blood with time, letting the countless lives within it slowly perish under your Seal. But you never imagined I would hide all those lives within this single wisp of essence blood. My power has never diminished, and now is the moment I break your damned Seal and return to this world. Now, it is time for my revenge."

As her voice echoed, a crimson light began to flicker within the Sea of Blood. Waves surged across the blood-red waters as all the beings born from it fell to their knees, bowing their heads deeply in a single direction and raising their hands high.

Simultaneously, a colossal vortex erupted in the midst of the Sea of Blood. A torrential flood of blood churned down the vortex, yet the sound of the endless fluid was eerily faint—like a clear spring flowing through the mountains, producing only a gentle, trickling murmur.

Amidst this soft sound, the vortex grew larger and larger, until a crystal-like blood-red mountain peak rose majestically from its depths.

The crimson peak was not immense, but rather exquisite and beautiful. Its mirror-smooth surface was so clear it could reflect a person's image, and the deep, dark red glow within it made it appear extraordinarily magnificent. It resembled a sword piercing the heavens, yet it looked even more like a throne carved from a single, massive crystal gemstone.

For its summit was a throne.

Straight steps of crimson crystal led to the towering seat, a monument to absolute majesty. Upon it, a figure sat coiled, her gaze sweeping down with imperious disdain upon the countless beings in the Sea of Blood below.

This was Lilith, Queen of the Red Sea.

Her beauty was so exquisite it could eclipse the stars and the moon. A waterfall of raven hair cascaded down her back, veiling a spine more delicate and fair than the finest pearl. Atop her head, curved horns coiled like those of a ram—not fierce or savage, but rather an elegant, dainty ornament that rested upon her brow like a black crown.

Her neck was long and graceful as a swan's. Her figure was the pinnacle of feminine allure, every curve radiating a lethal temptation. Though she wore nothing, her skin glowed with a luster that surpassed the clearest moonlight, its brilliance tempered only by the mesmerizing flow of her dark hair.

Her lower body, however, was not human, but that of a massive serpent. Black, crystal-like scales covered every inch of her lower half, rendering it as perfect as a work of art.

Despite this monstrous trait, her beauty remained undiminished. It was a beauty that surpassed all else, enough to make all creation pale in comparison.

And just as captivating as her beauty was the expression on her face.

It was a look of utter contempt, a gaze that looked down upon all creation. Her pitch-black eyes swept over her surroundings with mere sidelong glances, and her upturned chin signaled that she held nothing in her regard. A charming smile graced her lips, but it was a smile of disdain—a smile of absolute arrogance.

Though her lips burned with a fiery intensity that could ignite a flame in any man's heart, her smile was enough to freeze it instantly. For it was a smile as cold as a blade of ice, indifferent and chilling.

She sat coiled upon her throne, smiling as she did, as haughty as a supreme queen. Whether she looked upon the Blood Sea Beings below or at Zhou Yi, her smile never wavered.

The moonlight rose silently in this place, shining upon her. It made her appear as majestic as a divine statue. This was Lilith, Queen Lilith. A Goddess who had walked out of myth, a Queen so arrogant she looked down upon all.

She was breathtakingly beautiful, her stunning grace enough to make one's heart tremble. No one was exempt from this truth.
