Chapter 28 - Into the Crike Hole

The Hard Steel was still roaring…

Chimneys flagging the top were smoking, brass pipes were gushing with several metal ores, and the grinders were scuffing off the metal ornaments. The alley was simply a maze, so an unfamiliar man would be stranded forever. That was why Wimblen came to escort Leon himself, with Agasthus trailing them with his everyday excited energy.

"It gets louder every time I visit" Leon checked around

"it grows wiser, you mean to say" Wimblen made a forceful smile.

"Anyone would prefer silence" Agasthus attacked Wimblen

"Then you would love graveyard more"

The mad alchemist wasn't holding back. He slid off an embarking chuckle to the large knobbed door. He pressed and turned the adjacent knobs in opposite directions. The luminous aqua fluid flooded into the central glass. Numerous smaller discs glided to the central axis, and thus the door panels opened apart.

Inside stood Estra… His hairs green clinged to a single side. His specs were prodigious, with one of the lenses broken.

"Oh… big man Wimblen is here" Estra added the final element to his standard

"Come on…" he whispered beaming with hope

The container popped bubbles, initiating the reaction

"Come on…" Estra kept on encouraging

The container turned hot red, awaiting annihilation.

A blue puff spread everywhere as the brass was destroyed to pieces. Estra looked hideous with the blue slime all over his face. More witty was his swing to the wall, and then being dragged to the floor

"Another victorious discovery"

Estra got back up, dusting the glass crucibles.

"It was more of an unsuccessful attempt" Wimblen pushed aside the large brass globe.

"They're merely successful discoveries of unsuccessful possibilities" Estra fell down again, bracing the aftermath of the painful impact.

Leon and Agasthus glared back to each other, chucking over the insanity of the Alchemists. In those hundred seconds, they were thinking of the same advise- "anymore involvement with Industrial Piece will drive them crazy"

Estra locked into Leon

"So"

He circled him, gracing his fingers over his waist. More frantic was when he stared back at Leon's nostril. Another round around and he was nearly above Leon. And just in a blink of an eye he was spectating his pants.

"Ignore that" Wimblen held Estra by neck "he is our patrol dog"

He swung him to the main desk…

"I was simply inspecting if the legends blink"

Estra spitted those flattery words

"So…"

Agasthus stepped closer

"They do" Estra grinned

"That's reassuring" Agasthus looked around, observing the metal scraps "Wimblen told us, you built something capable of infiltrating Crikes"

"That's my theory"

"We don't have time for theories, Mr.Alchemist"

Agasthus roared back

"By theory, I mean a alternative recourse, Mr.Brother"

"And how will that work?" Wimblen bugged in

Estra reached out for a large beaker globe, acting as aether core.

"I don't see any engine" Leon whispered

"You don't need any" Estra replied "the engine is the machine itself, and you will be its incomplete piece"

Leon turned to Wimblen "Are you sure this is the right man?"

"You have been told that Crikes possess a pocket universe- a dream stage phenomenon" Estra ignored the critic

"A convenient description" Leon nodded

Estra then drew a straight line on board nearby, creaking through the noisy chalk.

"This is reality" he said

He drew another line above it

"This is mountain"

Another line below

"This is ocean"

Multiple lines spiralled across, resembling stacked sheets of bonus. Those were the line of endless possibilities.

"Reality is not singular" he answered

"So… it's different dimension"

"No" Estra immediately stopped Leon

"Different world then" Agasthus came in

"No"

"Different universe"

"No"

Estra smiled

"Those are assumptions philosophers use when mathematics becomes difficult"

Wimblen giggled…

He erased small circle between two lines

"Think of this as a molecule" he drew waves across it "the molecule vibrates transmitting the same energy to adjacent ones"

"So…" Leon held it

"Your consciousness" he pointed at Leon's forehead "it's nothing more than a complex neuronal networking. A surge of electrical supply"

He tapped the talk rhythmically

"And the same impulses in your consciousness oscillates"

"Oscillation creates frequency"

"Frequency creates resonance"

He spread his arms as he gave the final call

"And resonance creates location"

Agasthus was overwhelmed by extreme information "your saying consciousness has some coordinates"

Estra claimed

"I mean" he paused "consciousness occupies reality through vibrations"

Estra dragged out the machine

"Pocket universe is simply invisible- cause the frequency at which its particle vibrates, is completely distinct"

"So how can we get that invisible kingdom" Leon was confused

"That's where it gets interesting. The Pocket rejects ordinary cognition" Estra replied "moreover, every human being emits fluctuating resonance"

"Joy"

"Love"

"Fear"

"Hope"

"But the pocket exists at stable frequencies. Which is that of those untamed emotions" he grinned

"hatred"

"Grief"

"Obsession"

"Regret"

Estra clarified further

"Love changes"

"Happiness changes too"

"But despair"

He looked into Leon's eyes

"can remain unchanged for decades"

The sun deemed its ray, the flowers left the array. Nocturnal birds left the nest, while many returned for rest. The night was about to commence…

"so negative emotions are the answer" Leon asked

"Exactly…" Estra glared

"But can't the machine itself create the frequency" Agasthus was confused

"No" Estra answered immediately "it can measure the frequency once Leon enters the pocket. But it can't create one…"

He spun the machine to the centre. The metal barely intact, extended arms to pivot to the surface.

"Look at the hollow core" Estra told Leon "and let the negative astra flow"

Leon, obeying the command, settled upon its base. It initiated the vibrations, while Leon clenched his legs hard to his thighs.

"Remember" Wimblen marked an important detail "the exit will be a stranded portal. I'm shameful, but I can't help more than this"

The astral rays, with oozing energy, compiled Leon. He closed his eyes, thinking about all the sad serendipity.

Makina and Drasthamus dying…

The lights of the Canals turned to ruins…

Mother of Leon's original self, tearing her heart for the foolish guy…

Silas tragedy…

Liora's pain…

He accumulated everything to create a sense of urgency. A raw negative aura that will commence the portal.

He knew it could turn out to be a suicidal mission. That was why he allotted it to himself. The crusader of the episode turned dark. And preceding it came shades of Amber, opening the surface into a completely hollow void.

It was bright all around, similar to a white room. And Leon, who vanished from everyone's sight, was under serious free fall.
