Serena hadn't expected someone to suddenly be standing at the door, and couldn't stop herself from falling into his arms.
Adrian put one hand in his trouser pocket, while the other calmly wrapped around her waist.
His tall and poised figure stood firm like a pine tree, allowing her to crash into him, then slowly encasing her within his embrace.
"Sorry, I didn't see..." Regaining her balance, Serena immediately stepped back, trying to create some distance.
But as soon as she moved a step, the man's broad, dry palm suddenly tightened around her lower back, forcing her back into his hold.
Serena was caught off guard, her soft body once again colliding with his solid chest, the impact sparking like a wildfire.
She lifted her head from his embrace, her usually calm eyes now tinged with surprise.
"What are you doing?"
"Saw you were about to fall, just helping you." Adrian spoke with a natural air, his tone serious.
"...Thanks, you can let go now."
