Chapter 51: The devourer and eyes watching
The battlefield was a wasteland of scorched earth and broken bodies. Varion's Draco Nova had carved a massive path through the orc army, vaporizing tens of thousands and leaving the survivors in disarray. But the core of the army remained, a writhing mass of frenzied orcs driven by endless hunger.
Rimuri's group arrived at the main area where the orc lord was.
Gelmud, the Majin orchestrating everything, stood before the Orc Lord with a manic grin. "Eat them! Devour everything! Become the Demon Lord I promised you!"
The Orc Lord — Geld — looked confused for a moment, but the Unique Skill **Starved** had already twisted him beyond reason. He lunged forward and decapitated Gelmud in one brutal motion, swallowing the Majin whole. The power surge was immediate. Geld's body convulsed, muscles bulging as he evolved into an Orc Disaster, his presence swelling with raw, terrifying strength.
Rimuri stepped forward, voice steady. "If we don't stop him now, this really will become a disaster."
The Kijin moved as one. Benimaru and Shion charged together, their combined strike slicing the Orc Disaster's head clean off. Hakurou and Souei followed up with Mystic Thread Binding and Hell Flare, while Ranga unleashed Black Lightning. The attacks landed perfectly — but the Orc Disaster simply ate one of his own subordinates, regenerating instantly and shrugging off the damage.
Varion and Prinz held back to keep the lesser orcs from overwhelming the group and allow Rimuri to deal with the orc lord. he already had his fun so he'd let her a
Have some as well. Varion's gravity manipulation pinned clusters of enemies in place, while Prinz's wind and light barriers protected the goblins and Kijin from stray attacks. The fight was noticeably smoother than it would have been without them, the extra firepower and control gave Rimuri the breathing room she needed to fight the orc disaster.
After a bit back and forth fighting the orc lord fully digested gelmud and started to power up further.
Rimuri's eyes narrowed. "Great Sage — take over."
<
Her body moved with mechanical precision. She dodged the Orc Disaster's wild swings, sliced off his arm with a Black Flame–cloaked blade, and prevented the wound from regenerating. When the Orc Disaster fired off a Death-March Dance, Great Sage used Predator to swallow the attack whole.
The Orc Disaster closed the distance and grabbed Rimuri, attempting to devour her. Rimuri simply smiled and took back control.
"I'm a slime, you know."
She activated Predator in full. The two began devouring each other in a clash of Unique Skills — **Starved** versus **Predator**. Rimuri was pulled into the Orc Disaster's memories: a barren wasteland, starving children, the desperate decision to follow Gelmud's promises just to survive.
Rimuri's voice echoed through the mental space, gentle but firm. "I'll eat all of it. Your sins… your people's suffering… everything. You don't have to carry this alone anymore."
The broken mind of the Orc Disaster slowly mended. The desolate landscape in his memories transformed into the lush Jura Forest. Geld's final thought was one of gratitude.
In the real world, the Orc Disaster's massive body dissolved into light and was absorbed by Rimuri. Without their leader or the effects of **Starved**, the remaining orcs collapsed, the frenzied hunger fading from their eyes as they slowly understood what they had been doing.
Rimuri stood in the center of the battlefield, breathing steadily. The Kijin gathered around her, eyes filled with awe and loyalty.
"So what will you do now?" Asked rimuri
Benimaru knelt.
"We would like to continue serving you lady rimuri ," he said simply. "If you'll have us."
The other Kijin followed, pledging themselves to Rimui.
Varion landed lightly beside her, wings folding as he returned to his normal form. Prinz stepped up on his other side, golden eyes scanning the battlefield with quiet approval.
Rimuri looked at her new allies, then at Varion and Prinz, a soft smile spreading across her face.
"Alright, welcome to the team," she said warmly. "Let's build something great together."
-Elsewhere-
Far away, in a lavish chamber bathed in soft, ethereal light, four of the world's most powerful beings gathered around a floating crystal ball.
Clayman lounged in an ornate chair, fingers steepled, his sharp eyes fixed on the image playing out before them. Carrion stood with arms crossed, his muscular frame radiating boredom. Frey sat elegantly, wings folded neatly behind her, observing with quiet calculation. And Milim Nava was sprawled lazily across a couch, platinum-pink twin tails dangling as she munched on snacks.
The crystal showed the battlefield in the Jura Forest.
They watched as a crimson-haired young man rose into the air using his dragon wings, his form shifting into something unmistakably draconic — scales of starlight shimmering across his skin and he grew more feral looking, eyes burning with ancient power. he started out putting a large amount magicules and something else. Then he condensed them into a sphere in front of him, then he launched the attack.
"DRACO NOVAAA!!!"
A devastating beam of starlight and swirling blue particles tore through the orc army, vaporizing tens of thousands in a single strike and carving a glowing crater into the mountain behind them.
The chamber fell silent.
Carrion grunted, unimpressed. "Hmph. Another strong one in the forest. Not bad, but nothing that concerns us yet."
Frey's elegant features remained calm, though her eyes narrowed slightly. "The treaty over the Jura Forest was tied to Veldora's seal. With the Storm Dragon gone, that agreement is technically void. Interesting timing."
Clayman leaned forward, a calculating smile on his lips. "Indeed. We should send subordinates to investigate before rushing in ourselves. There's still too much we don't know about this new player… or the slime that seems to be at the center of everything as well."
Milim, however, had gone completely still.
Her usual playful, childlike expression had vanished. She stared at the crystal ball with wide, unblinking eyes, the snack in her hand forgotten. 'That was stardust energy and the form he took, it was just like mine…what the….how?'
Her mind raced. He was a Dragonoid. Someone else just like her. But he was so weak compared to what she could remember she had ever remembered herself being, he was barely even at the level of a proper Demon Lord seed. But there he was alive and even using one of her moves, How was this possible? She was an only child, for the longest time it was just her and ….. no one else, she'd been alone. Sure she had the true dragons but they were distant, except for veldora but he got sealed away. But there he was, wielding stardust as naturally as breathing.
Then she felt a deep aching feeling in her chest, like seeing a family member she had wanted to see for so long. But she knew for a fact she had never met him before.
A faint frown creased her brow, something almost like genuine confusion flickering across her face for the first time in centuries.
Then, just as quickly as it appeared, the frown melted away. Milim's expression shifted back into her usual bright, enthusiastic grin, the playful mask slipping perfectly into place once more.
"Wow! That was super cool!" she exclaimed, bouncing up from the couch and clapping her hands. "He's strong! I wanna meet him! I'm gonna go say hi !!!"
Clayman sighed, already sensing the coming headache. "Milim, we just agreed to send subordinates first. Let's not rush—"
But Milim was already up and running out the door, twin tails whipping around as she giggled. "Bye. See you guys later!"
Inside, however, her thoughts were anything but playful. She had already decided. She would visit him, and soon. She needed to know exactly who this Dragonoid was, where he had come from, and why he made her feel like that just from seeing a image of him.
As she flew, thoughts swarmed around in her head at the possibilities.
