In the sky...
Where Odin was battling Medusa...
Odin suddenly looked toward the distance.
Then he frowned deeply.
He had sensed that the one who had been protecting the Fallen Island—the six-winged Fallen Angel—was approaching their location.
But...
A few moments later...
He let out a sigh of relief.
He realized that the Fallen Angel was not heading toward them, but instead toward the battlefield where the Demon King was fighting.
A faint smile appeared on his face.
However, that smile quickly disappeared.
For he realized the magnitude of the danger he was facing.
It was true...
He was confident in his ability to defeat Medusa.
But...
He was fighting her alone.
And if one of the Demon Rulers were to join this battle midway through...
The situation would turn into a complete disaster.
At this very moment...
His brothers and the other ancient rulers were occupied with transporting the island that had once been the home of him, his brothers, and his father Zeus, and merging it with Asgard.
There was no ruler in Asgard capable of fighting one of the Demon Rulers on equal footing.
In fact, Odin was not even certain that his brothers could stand alone against a single Demon Ruler without support.
Because of this...
He made his decision.
He had to end his battle with Medusa as quickly as possible.
But...
While he was thinking about all of this...
Medusa was anything but idle.
Instead, she continued attacking him with increasing ferocity.
At one moment...
She transformed one of her arms into a colossal spear hundreds of meters long and hurled it at him with terrifying force.
The next...
She opened her mouth and released a dense black mist radiating a dreadful aura, spreading across the sky like an endless night.
Then...
She used the curse within her eyes, attempting to turn him to stone the instant their gazes met.
And then again...
She charged at him with her gigantic body, now as massive as an entire island, trying to crush him beneath the force of her charge.
As for Odin...
Despite everything...
He remained perfectly calm.
He did not allow a single attack to shake his composure.
Instead, he countered every one of her assaults with all his strength, without making a single mistake.
At one moment...
He created a massive whirlwind between them, dispersing her attack and throwing it off course.
At another...
He raised an enormous wall of ice before raining the heavens with a relentless barrage of icy meteors.
Then...
He formed long whips of water that bound Medusa's movements, preventing her from taking advantage of her speed.
And once again...
He called down the lightning of the heavens, striking her body with tremendous force and forcing her to retreat for a few moments.
The battle continued at this relentless pace.
Attack...
Met with another attack.
Defense...
Followed by another defense.
Each of them fought with the full extent of their power and experience, refusing to grant the other even the slightest opening.
It was an unbelievably even battle.
Neither side had any clear path to victory.
And it was obvious...
That whoever made the first mistake in that battle...
Would be the one to lose.
