Chapter 100 - Chapter 100 Yu Tianheng and Dugu Yan

Chapter 100 Yu Tianheng and Dugu Yan

Oscar's gaze first turned toward Tang San. Besides Luo Ling, Tang San was clearly the strongest among them.

But Tang San's eyes were focused entirely on Xiao Wu—his thoughts were obvious.

Xiao Wu noticed his look and frowned, walking straight over to Zhu Zhuqing instead.

She had already teamed with Zhu Zhuqing before in their previous two‑on‑two battles.

Tang San's expression stiffened awkwardly. Finally, with no other option, he turned to Oscar.

"Oscar, let's form a team."

"Of course!" Oscar nodded eagerly.

"Hey, this isn't fair!" Ma Hongjun suddenly protested. "All of you have partners, and I'm the only one left by myself?"

He looked utterly pitiful, standing alone in the middle of the group.

"Fatty, I'm a support‑type soul master. I need a partner to even qualify for a Silver Soul Badge," Oscar replied smugly. "You're not in the same boat."

"Fine, I'll do a solo match then!" Ma Hongjun pouted in frustration.

"Good," Yu Xiaogang said, brushing aside the complaints. "Since you've all chosen your partners, get ready to enter the arena. Remember—wear masks to keep your identities hidden. Use an alias for each match."

Everyone nodded and quickly came up with names.

Luo Ling watched them, amusement flickering in his eyes as he tried not to laugh.

With Dai Mubai dead and Tang San and Xiao Wu estranged, their team names were completely different from those in the original story.

Xiao Wu and Zhu Zhuqing were now the Cat and Rabbit Duo. Tang San and Oscar called themselves Blue Silver Sausage.

Luo Ling and Ning Rongrong, naturally, went by Glazed Evil Scythe.

Soon, it was their turn to fight.

The Shrek group entered the arena wearing masks—except Luo Ling, who walked in casually with his true face unveiled.

When he appeared, the once‑noisy stands erupted into even louder chaos.

Silver hair, crimson eyes, and an air of effortless elegance—Luo Ling immediately drew countless admiring gazes, especially from the women.

"Now, on platform seven, the two‑versus‑two battle between the Blue Poison Duo and the Glazed Evil Scythe Duo!"

"On one side, the Blue Poison team—one Soul Ancestor and one Soul Elder! And the Glazed Evil Scythe team… also a Soul Ancestor paired with a Soul Elder!"

The host's enthusiastic announcement fueled the crowd's excitement.

Luo Ling and Ning Rongrong ignored the noise, walking steadily onto the stage.

Their opponents appeared on the opposite side, and Luo Ling's eyes flickered in mild surprise.

The man had long black hair and a tall, handsome build. The woman beside him was striking—short violet hair, a curving figure, and a serpentine allure in her movements, her slim waist twisting with a dangerous kind of grace.

Luo Ling recognized her almost immediately.

The woman was Dugu Yan, granddaughter of the Poison Douluo, Dugu Bo.

He remembered meeting her and Dugu Bo three years ago when they visited the Spirit Hall.

Dugu Yan also recognized him. She blinked, rubbed her eyes, and then stared again to be sure. Her expression wavered between excitement and disbelief.

Of course she knew who he was—she'd heard her grandfather mention the Holy Son of Spirit Hall countless times, speaking with almost obsessive admiration.

A prodigy known across the continent—the Ghost Magister.

Over time, her curiosity had turned into quiet reverence… an admiration that bordered on infatuation.

"Don't reveal my identity," Luo Ling said with a gentle smile, his voice drifting directly into her mind.

Dugu Yan jolted slightly, her gaze trembling before she forced herself to calm down, suppressing her flustered emotions.

"Yan Yan, what is it? You know that man?" The black‑haired man beside her—Yu Tianheng—frowned as he noticed her reaction.

"Yu Tianheng," she replied coolly, "we're not that close. And whether I know him or not… has nothing to do with you."

Her blunt tone made Yu Tianheng's face darken. He turned his gaze toward Luo Ling, hostility brewing in his eyes.

He was certain of what he'd seen—Dugu Yan, who was always calm and indifferent, had lost all composure at the sight of that man. She definitely knew him.

And that made Yu Tianheng furious.

If looks could kill, Luo Ling would have been rendered to dust by the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon heir's glare.

Luo Ling barely noticed. He simply smiled at Dugu Yan, his tone warm and casual. "It's been years, hasn't it? When did you reach the Soul Ancestor rank?"

Dugu Yan froze for a moment, cheeks flushing lightly. "Just recently," she admitted softly.

Up in the stands, the rest of the Emperor Team watched in silent disbelief as their captain blushed shyly on stage.

"Did… did Captain Yan just smile like that?"

"No way! Who's that guy? Since when does she act like this?"

"Damn, looks like Tianheng has a rival!"

The crowd's discussion roared louder and louder. Even a certain blue‑haired girl in the section below widened her eyes, watching the scene unfold with visible surprise.

On the platform, Luo Ling and Dugu Yan continued their conversation as if the battle hadn't even started.

"You just reached the Soul Ancestor level, and your first match is a two‑on‑two at that level?" he asked teasingly. "Still dragging around that extra baggage?" His eyes flicked toward Yu Tianheng.

"I'm just testing my abilities," Dugu Yan said quickly, a faint blush coloring her face.

Yu Tianheng's anger finally boiled over. The insult of being called a "burden" made his blood surge.

He, proud heir of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan—called a drag?

And this man was close enough to Dugu Yan to speak to her like that?

He had spent years trying to win even a smile from her, yet she'd never once looked at him the way she was looking at Luo Ling now.

Bitter jealousy scorched his chest.

"Fine," Luo Ling said, sighing lightly. "If you want to fight, fight. Just don't expect me to go easy."

He turned, but before he could ready himself, Dugu Yan called after him.

"Wait!" she said softly. "Are you staying in Soto City? Where are you?"

"Shrek Academy," he replied with a wave of the hand, as if it were nothing.

Ning Rongrong, standing beside him, caught that exchange and narrowed her eyes beneath her mask.

"That's Dugu Yan, Poison Douluo's granddaughter, right?" she whispered.

"Mm. You met her at Spirit Hall once, remember?" Luo Ling replied casually.

The story had shifted again—Dugu Yan had reached the Soul Ancestor stage earlier than expected, probably thanks to a certain immortal herb.

Ning Rongrong shot Dugu Yan a long, meaningful glance. She'd seen how the girl looked at Luo Ling just moments ago—there was no mistaking it.

That was not the look of a friend.

"Hmph. Evil flirt," she muttered under her breath, pouting her lips.

As both sides took their positions on opposite ends of the stage, the referee signaled for the match to begin.

Yu Tianheng's glare locked on Luo Ling as he activated his martial soul—the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon erupted around him, crackling with electric light.

Up in the audience, Yu Xiaogang straightened in his seat, eyes widening in surprise.

"As expected—it really is Tianheng," he murmured. "I never thought we'd meet again after all these years."
