Chapter 129: The Unusual Liu Erlong
Within the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, a peculiar-looking figure stood before a stalk of blue silver grass, staring at it with a puzzled expression.
This person was Chrysanthemum Douluo, Yue Guan.
His face was filled with confusion. He clearly did not remember ever planting a blue silver grass here.
Yet the plant before him, though appearing to be a simple blue silver grass, emanated an unmistakably noble aura.
As Yue Guan continued to examine the plant, the spring water beneath the well suddenly rippled, splashing softly.
Startled, he turned around quickly, only to see Luo Ling rising slowly from the depths of the spring.
"Your Highness the Holy Son?" Yue Guan exclaimed in surprise after recognizing him.
"Uncle Ju," Luo Ling greeted with a nod.
Noticing Yue Guan standing near the Blue Silver Emperor, Luo Ling flew to the shore and explained,
"This Blue Silver Emperor was planted by me."
"Blue Silver Emperor?" Yue Guan caught the precise phrasing with his sharp intuition.
"Your Highness, did you say this plant is the Blue Silver Emperor?" His expression grew even more astonished as he turned back to look at it again.
Luo Ling nodded slightly. "Yes."
The words only deepened Yue Guan's confusion. He had studied many plant-type soul beasts; of course, he knew what the Blue Silver Emperor was.
Within the Blue Silver Grass species, only one Blue Silver Emperor could exist at a time, and only after reaching one hundred thousand years of cultivation.
Yet the plant before him carried none of that overwhelming presence. Instead, it looked just like common blue silver grass one could find anywhere.
"Uncle Ju, you must have heard of Tang Hao's wife—she was a Blue Silver Emperor who took human form and later sacrificed herself for him," Luo Ling said casually.
Yue Guan froze for a moment, then widened his eyes. "Your Highness… you can't mean that this is the same Blue Silver Emperor, can you?"
Luo Ling met his disbelieving gaze and nodded. "Exactly. After the Blue Silver Emperor's sacrifice, she left behind a seed. Her soul has since taken residence within it."
"This Blue Silver Emperor is Tang Hao's wife."
Hearing this, Yue Guan's mouth fell open, at a loss for words.
The Holy Son had barely left home, and he somehow managed to bring back the wife of the Clear Sky Douluo? How could anyone even make sense of that!
"I've planted her here in the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well so that she can be revived. Once she grows again, she'll become another hundred-thousand-year soul beast." Luo Ling smiled faintly.
Yue Guan immediately understood. The Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well greatly accelerated the growth of plant-type entities. For a seed that had once belonged to a Blue Silver Emperor, it would likely take only a few years for it to fully regrow.
For the Spirit Hall, that would mean both a hundred-thousand-year soul bone and a hundred-thousand-year soul ring.
A spark of excitement flickered in Yue Guan's eyes.
"Uncle Ju, since you are stationed here, I'll trouble you to look after her," Luo Ling said, glancing once more at the Blue Silver Emperor.
At this stage, her soul power was still very weak; ordinary eyes could not perceive her spiritual form.
"Rest assured, Your Highness. I was already ordered by the Pope herself to guard this place," Yue Guan replied firmly.
Luo Ling nodded and said nothing further before flying away toward Heaven Dou City.
…
At that same time, within Heaven Dou City, at Blue Tyrant Academy—
The members of Shrek had successfully joined the academy, though the story had taken an unexpected turn.
Liu Erlong stood before them, her gaze calm as she looked over the travel-worn group.
"Xiaogang, Flender… it's been a long time," she said, her eyes sweeping across them.
When her gaze met Yu Xiaogang's, it lingered for a few seconds before shifting away again.
Yu Xiaogang, looking upon the woman who'd nearly become his wife, felt a wave of emotion surge in his chest—but Liu Erlong's attitude held no warmth at all.
The eagerness on Yu Xiaogang's face gradually faded. He could see clearly that this was no longer the same Liu Erlong he had once known.
"Erlong, it's been twenty years, hasn't it?" Yu Xiaogang exhaled deeply.
"Yes, twenty years," Liu Erlong replied flatly. "I still remember how you ran away like a coward back then, without saying a word."
Her tone was blunt—mocking, even.
If Luo Ling were here, he'd probably be dumbfounded.
In the original tale, Liu Erlong's love for Yu Xiaogang bordered on insanity—yet now, the roles were completely reversed.
Liu Erlong's heart was complicated. In the years following Yu Xiaogang's departure, she had indeed loved him deeply and searched desperately for him.
But she never found him. Later, some mysterious person deliberately sent her news about him.
She learned everything: that he had plagiarized Spirit Hall's theories, lived a parasitic life at Nuoding Academy, practiced a perverse technique, and was recently publicly shamed by the Sinister Master in the Great Spirit Arena of Soto City.
At first, Liu Erlong refused to believe it and wanted to find him herself.
But when she finally met the woman who had been sending her the information—it turned out to be Pope Bibi Dong.
Two women, different yet similar, bonded in shared bitterness. Together, they secretly watched over Yu Xiaogang and finally saw through his hypocrisy.
That was when Liu Erlong's feelings began to turn.
The deeper the love had once been, the greater the resentment that followed. By now, Liu Erlong no longer harbored affection for Yu Xiaogang at all.
This incident had happened shortly after Luo Ling first joined the Spirit Hall and exposed Yu Xiaogang's lies. He himself never knew that Bibi Dong had secretly met Liu Erlong afterward.
Later, Bibi Dong's eventual release from her emotional torment was, in fact, due to that same surveillance. Luo Ling, however, knew nothing of it.
After all, Bibi Dong was the Pope—a Titled Douluo powerhouse. Her heart was not something easily swayed.
Hearing Liu Erlong's sharp words, the Shrek group wore uneasy expressions. Tang San and the others glanced between her and Yu Xiaogang, sensing there was more between them than they understood.
Flender's face showed surprise. He had assumed Liu Erlong still loved Yu Xiaogang, but clearly, that was no longer the case.
Yu Xiaogang stood silent, his face dark, fists clenched tightly.
"Erlong, I know you resent Xiaogang," Flender said finally, stepping forward to ease the tension. "But what's done is done. Could your Blue Tyrant Academy take us in?"
Liu Erlong turned her gaze toward Flender. She already knew that Shrek had been expelled from Heaven Dou Imperial Academy.
After a short silence, she looked at the young students beside him—each one strong, some already at the Soul Elder level. They were indeed little monsters. Having such talents in her academy was definitely a good thing.
"Flender, if you wish to join, you're all welcome here. From now on, consider Blue Tyrant Academy your own. You may all stay," she said with a nod.
"Our conditions might not rival Heaven Dou Imperial Academy, but we're no worse than any advanced spirit master academy in the empire."
Turning to a teacher nearby, she added,
"Teacher Yinshu, prepare a banquet in the private room on the second floor of the dining hall. These are my old friends—I'll host them personally."
