Chapter 238 - Chapter 238: The Power of Shura

Chapter 238: The Power of Shura

Feng Xiaotian's spirit power was nearly exhausted. When he sensed the powerful new enemy emerging, he immediately warned Dugu Feng.

Only Dugu Feng could handle a threat like this now.

Dugu Feng had already locked onto the enemy's position.

He could see the source of the attack clearly—a raging tornado, infused with spirit energy, tearing straight toward him.

Yet he didn't move to dodge.

By now, he had judged the wolf bandit leader's strength.

Its spirit ability was formidable, but not enough to harm him.

His fourth spirit ring shone faintly, releasing a nearly invisible streak of frosty light.

"Icefire Venom Erosion!"

The beam tore through the tornado, piercing straight through the wolf bandit leader's heart before it could even react.

The next instant, the whirlwind swallowed Dugu Feng completely.

When the chaos finally subsided, he was still standing unscathed.

His body was reinforced by three external spirit bones and three inner bones.

The Eight Spider Lances had evolved again, forming a ruby-like armor across his upper body—his physical strength had long surpassed what a Spirit King-level opponent could threaten.

"Hm? Still struggling?"

Dugu Feng's eyes narrowed in surprise. The wolf bandit leader wasn't dead yet.

Icefire Venom Erosion was a pure single-target attack; even a Spirit Emperor struck by it would be poisoned to death by its dual-element toxins.

But this creature's body glowed dark cyan, resisting the poison coursing through its veins.

Then came another deafening rumble—the death throes of the gray-furred wolf bandits.

The deadly toxins and the Poison Explosion had overwhelmed them all—none could survive.

Walking the path of the ultimate poison, Dugu Feng feared no siege.

His venom was too powerful; a single touch meant certain death. Against enemies beneath his level, this was a true suppression beyond measure.

Now, only the leader remained—astonishingly resilient even under his most lethal skill.

"This one's endurance is remarkable. Its recovery is impressive," Feng Xiaotian said, stepping forward despite the nausea gnawing at him.

"There's definitely something unique about this place," Dugu Feng replied decisively. "Something here must grant them that strength."

Feng Xiaotian gave a bitter smile. Wind-attribute spirit masters from his academy often trained here—everyone knew the canyon was special, but none had discovered why.

The wolf bandit leader struggled a little longer, the glow of his body fading, then fell lifelessly to the ground.

Dugu Feng released his Jade Dragon Snakes to cleanse and scavenge the battlefield before he and Feng Xiaotian moved toward the wolf leader's den at the back of the canyon.

"The sound of the wind—it's like a hurricane's heartbeat," Feng Xiaotian muttered.

Inside a large cave, they found something startling.

The passage dipped low and narrow, but beyond it lay a fissure running through the mountain.

From within, a constant rushing wind howled.

The concentration of wind-element spirit power there was unbelievably pure.

"That wolf bandit leader must have grown strong by absorbing the wind energy here," Feng Xiaotian said.

Dugu Feng nodded slightly, though his mind was elsewhere.

He was trying to pinpoint the origin of that pure wind spirit energy.

Could the depths of these Hurricane Canyons conceal a place of inheritance?

Among the first-level gods of the Divine Realm were seven elemental deities, each ruling water, fire, wind, earth, light, darkness, and space.

Could this canyon be a site blessed—or abandoned—by the Wind God himself?

The thought stirred his curiosity… but also cooled it.

Even if it was a divine inheritance, he couldn't claim a Wind God's position.

Feng Xiaotian, however—he would be a far more fitting successor.

For now, the priority was clearing out the remaining wolf bandits.

After exploring the area, Dugu Feng and Feng Xiaotian exited the canyon.

Ning Rongrong, having waited for the battle to end, hurried over—and froze at the sight of the carnage.

She recognized it instantly. It was Dugu Feng's second spirit ability, Poison Explosion.

She had seen him use it before—but never imagined it could be this devastating in actual combat.

The blood-soaked aftermath made her heart race with a mix of thrill and shock.

Years ago, she had forced herself to overcome her fear of snakes, to touch venomous creatures and conquer her fear.

After all that, this scene no longer frightened her—it only reaffirmed her resolve.

Watching the entire battle unfold through her illusion's spiritual projection, she knew such scenes were inevitable for those who walked this path.

"Let's rest for a day," Dugu Feng said. "Tomorrow, we'll hunt down the next wolf den."

There were plenty more waiting.

Feng Xiaotian, having witnessed Dugu Feng's terrifying strength, brimmed with renewed confidence.

Facing a Spirit King-level leader, Dugu Feng fought as if it were nothing.

Even more astonishing—the Jade Dragon Snakes hadn't even lifted a claw.

Not even a Spirit Saint of the wolf bandits would pose much danger to them now.

Ning Rongrong was equally exhilarated.

This was the life she dreamed of—dangerous, thrilling, and alive.

And so, every other day, guided by the Jade Dragon Snakes, they tracked and wiped out one wolf stronghold after another.

In every fight, Dugu Feng limited himself to using only his spirit ring abilities and the Killing God Domain, deepening his understanding of both his martial spirit and the essence of killing.

He never once employed his spirit bone powers or the external bone's destructive force—the Eight-Petal Ice Grass and Flame Apricot remained untouched.

Three months passed.

Finally, they encountered their first wolf bandit leader of the Spirit Saint level.

Even then, Dugu Feng slew it with only his own spirit techniques and killing intent.

The endless bloodshed had refined his power to terrifying heights.

The Twelve Slaughter Fingers, Slaughter Assault, and Shura Killing Formation—all had reached their peak.

Dugu Feng could feel it—

his Killing God Domain was evolving.

Beyond the Killing Domain lay the Shura Domain, where killing intent transformed into a higher power known as Shura Force.

When that happened, the divine will left by the God of Shura would sense him—and he would become the next-in-line successor to the Shura position.

The successor in line, because Tang Chen still lived.

Bibi Dong, through the City of Slaughter, had once obtained her Killing Domain, later transforming it into the Rakshasa Domain and inheriting the power of the Rakshasa God.

Tang Hao's own Killing Domain had stagnated completely—his despair had wasted the greatest chance of ascension.

Tang Chen, however, had elevated his domain into the Shura Domain. By gaining the Shura God's recognition, he received the divine trial.

Though the Blood-Red Nine-Headed Bat King now possessed him, the divine trial had never truly ended.

Once Tang Chen regained clarity, he would immediately complete the inheritance—ascending as the true Shura God.

Between Tang Chen and Dugu Feng, it was like crown prince and second heir.

Tang Chen, wielding the Shura Demon Sword and blessed by the Shura God, would always remain the primary heir so long as he lived.

When Dugu Feng's Killing Domain evolved, he would merely become another candidate—one qualified to begin the god's trial, but not the chosen.

As long as the prince lived, the second heir could never ascend.

Dugu Feng understood that perfectly.

His path was clear: first, evolve his domain.

As long as he achieved true mastery of Shura Power, he would become a rightful heir—

a prince in his own right beneath the scarlet throne of the Shura God.

With that conviction, the borderlands fell into a reign of terror.

From east to west across the vast frontier, wolf bandit tribes met their end one by one,

their countless atrocities repaid in blood beneath Dugu Feng's unrelenting hand.
