Chapter 244: What "Secret Room Angel"?
Since this guy was picking a fight, she saw no reason to hold back.
She might want to leave Shrek Academy and join the Spirit Pagoda, but that didn't mean she'd quietly allow herself to be captured.
"I'm not an Evil Soul Master!"
The Titan's power burst forth like thunder. Her fist smashed down with enough force to shake the earth itself.
"Stop hiding! You're an Evil Soul Master!"
Le Zhengyu was completely convinced now — this woman was definitely one.
He summoned his spirit souls, twin projections of radiant angels wielding holy swords. Two blinding holy blades swept forward, deflecting Yuanen Yehui's strike with a sharp clang.
"Tch—"
Even so, Le Zhengyu felt the sheer strength behind her punch ripple through his arms. Without two Holy Angels at his side, he might not have blocked it at all.
Yuanen Yehui had seen him fight Ye Xinglan before, so she wasn't surprised by his power.
As long as she refrained from releasing her Fallen Angel martial soul, no one could truly prove she was evil.
And she wasn't!
With the Titan Giant Ape, she could fight openly without fear — the holy light of his angelic soul had no connection to her other martial spirit anyway.
"Take my sword!"
Le Zhengyu refused to back down. He knew future members of the Shrek Seven were no easy opponents.
Twin Holy Swords materialized again, two-on-one — a completely unfair fight.
Yuanen Yehui gritted her teeth. Even she began to falter under the assault.
"Enough already!"
A deep, exasperated voice interrupted.
It was Jiang Chen. Of all the places, this battleground happened to be where he'd arranged to meet Xuedi for a quiet date — and now he was watching an all-too-familiar cliché: some so-called "angel of justice" charging in, shouting about righteousness and light.
Really?
He understood the Le family's reputation well enough — the Holy Angel Clan, eternal defenders of "justice." But did this guy even know who he was trying to arrest?
Before Le Zhengyu could react, Jiang Chen closed the distance and drove a solid punch straight across his handsome face.
"Ahhhh!"
The golden boy flew back with a pained cry, collapsing to the ground.
Jiang Chen blinked. "Wow… violent, huh."
"You—you—you hit me! That's against the rules!" Le Zhengyu sputtered, clutching his face.
But when he spotted Jiang Chen, his anger flipped instantly to relief.
"Jiang Chen! Quick, help me grab her! She's an Evil Soul Master — the Fallen Angel! You do know what that means, right?!"
Jiang Chen's answer was a casual, "Oh."
"'Oh'? That's it?!" Le Zhengyu panicked. "You seriously don't care? Don't you understand what that martial soul is? Hurry, we can report this to the Federation — they'll reward us!"
Jiang Chen sighed and patted his shoulder. "Do you even know who she is?"
"Who?"
"Yuanen."
"Yuanen?"
As the name sank in, Jiang Chen continued, voice lazy but firm, "That's right. She's the young lady of the Yuanen clan — a family with not one, but two Limit Douluo. You really want to offend them? Go ahead, let her grandfather visit you later."
Le Zhengyu froze.
The Yuanen family?
Wasn't that the line descended from a soul beast-human bloodline?
He shot a sheepish glance between Jiang Chen and Yuanen Yehui.
Right… Jiang Chen was one of those mixed-blood types too.
Well… awkward.
"Relax," Jiang Chen said lightly. "The Federation knows everything already. You don't need to shout it from the rooftops. Go on, off you go."
Meanwhile, Yuanen Yehui had reverted to her normal size — her three-meter Titan form shrinking into a small, thin, pale girl barely taller than Jiang Chen's shoulder.
Le Zhengyu stared in dismay.
His first attempt at "executing justice" had just ended in complete humiliation.
As the young patriarch of the Angel Clan, could things get any worse?
Jiang Chen shook his head. "You planning to stay? What, waiting for her Limit Douluo grandfather to beat the wings off you?"
"…Fine," Le Zhengyu sighed painfully.
Still, he tried one last protest. "Jiang Chen, don't you realize how serious this is? If it's proven true, this scandal could cripple Shrek's reputation!"
"Do whatever you want," Jiang Chen replied. "File your report if you must — but you're not taking her with you. Unless you're courting disaster, step aside."
While the two talked, Yuanen Yehui turned quietly to leave.
But before she could disappear, Jiang Chen called out, "Miss Yuanen, you wouldn't want Shrek Academy and the Federation discovering your little secret, would you?"
Her eyes widened. "What—?"
Even Le Zhengyu froze, suspicious again.
Jiang Chen stepped closer, smirking faintly.
Le Zhengyu's imagination began running wild.
Hold on—were they conspiring?
His mind immediately conjured an absurd image: the so-called hero of justice dragging a "fallen little angel" into a secret chamber for interrogation — her cries for mercy echoing in the dark, until ultimately she surrendered, renouncing darkness to embrace the light.
He swallowed hard. "That's… not right," he muttered.
Still, when Yuanen Yehui hesitated for a moment and then reluctantly followed Jiang Chen, his jaw nearly hit the ground.
She just… went with him?
Le Zhengyu could only stare, questioning his entire worldview.
Jiang Chen didn't care. He simply led the "fallen angel" away.
"Don't talk nonsense," he said coolly over his shoulder.
Le Zhengyu straightened, shaking off his confusion. His sympathy evaporated in favor of zealotry once again.
"Evil Soul Masters deserve no mercy," he told himself fiercely. "Whatever punishment she gets, she's earned it. If Jiang Chen's taking her to a secret place to deal with her — good!"
He nodded with conviction. "Jiang Chen, remember — keep her sealed in that chamber, strictly guarded. And above all—don't let anyone else find out!"
"A safe chamber, understand? Keep her under constant watch!"
After all, the Angel Clan took "justice chambers" very seriously — private sanctuaries where the wicked were interrogated and purified.
Though, admittedly, a few corrupt family members had… repurposed them before.
"Secret chamber?" Jiang Chen frowned, watching Le Zhengyu's exaggerated winks. "What secret chamber?"
Le Zhengyu's expression turned grave. In his heart, he pitied Jiang Chen — too daring, too reckless. Dragging an Evil Soul Master off alone? Dangerous... and maybe tempting.
"I'd better make sure he doesn't fall for her tricks," he muttered, determination flaring. "I'll investigate the Yuanen family myself if I have to."
…
Deep in the secluded forest, Yuanen Yehui finally spoke, her voice trembling.
"What did you do to my mother?" she demanded. "Is she alive? Where is she? Why hasn't she come for me?"
Her tone broke into quiet sobs.
"I… I want my mother…"
