Chapter 106 – 123. You Detonate Your Rings, I'll Detonate Mine

The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect retreated in humiliation, the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect slipped away in fear, and the Clear Sky Sect stood alone.

"What do we do now?" Tang Kai muttered, sweat beading on his forehead—when suddenly a deep, steady voice sounded beside his ear like a line of sound piercing through the chaos.

"Xiao Kai, in a moment, I'll face the Spirit Hall's Worshippers myself. You take the core disciples and head toward the ancestral lands—don't look back. As long as you reach that place, the Clear Sky Sect will endure. That is where our ancestor Tang Chen once made a pact with Qian Daoliu—no one from Spirit Hall is allowed to set foot there. It's our last refuge."

After Spirit Hall finished dealing with the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, Jiang Mo and Qian Jun ordered their army to launch a full assault on the Clear Sky Sect.

Just then, a massive Clear Sky Hammer descended from the heavens, smashing downward toward the Spirit Hall's forces.

Alongside the falling hammer echoed a command that shook the sky itself:

"Let's see who dares!"

Jiang Mo reacted quickly, swinging his Dragon-Subduing Staff to meet the hammer head-on. The staff and the hammer clashed midair, soul power bursting into shockwaves, the two forces momentarily locked in balance.

"That's… a Level 97 Title Douluo from the Clear Sky Sect," Guang Ling observed.

The hammer was knocked backward and landed in the hands of a pale-faced man hovering in the air. He gripped the Clear Sky Hammer tightly, nine soul rings flaring around him—two yellow, two purple, five black.

Those who recognized him were stunned.

"You… you're Tang Ba," Yu Yuanzhen stammered, wide-eyed.

"Tang Ba, you're still alive?" Qian Jun exclaimed in surprise.

Guang Ling tilted his head in curiosity. "Oh, so you all know him?"

"Of course we do," Qian Jun replied. "The Overlord Douluo—he's from Tang Chen's uncle's generation. Back when I and Jiang Mo were still rookies, he was already a famed Title Douluo known across the continent."

Jiang Mo added coldly, "But look at him now—blood and life nearly spent. He doesn't have many years left. Allow me to deal with him. You two hold the defense."

With that, Jiang Mo leapt upward, swinging his Dragon-Subduing Staff as he closed in on Tang Ba. His nine soul rings blazed into view: yellow, yellow, purple, purple, black, black, black, black, red.

The power radiating from him surged like a tide, pressing heavily toward Tang Ba.

Both were Level 97 Title Douluo, yet age spared no one. Tang Ba was old and frail, while Jiang Mo stood at the height of his strength and bore the legacy of a hundred-thousand-year ring. Almost immediately, Tang Ba found himself on the defensive.

"Jiang Mo, boy, weren't your soul rings all under ten-thousand years?" Tang Ba asked in shock.

"Hmph! Everyone has their own fortunes. Enough talk—come! Let's see whether your Clear Sky Hammer truly deserves the title of the world's number one weapon spirit, or if my Dragon-Subduing Staff can challenge that claim!" Jiang Mo sneered, raising his weapon high.

"The Dragon-Subduing Staff? Not fit to be compared to my Clear Sky Hammer!" Tang Ba answered proudly. "So what if you possess a hundred-thousand-year ring? Watch closely!"

He raised his hammer and roared,

"Clear Sky Hammer—Ring Detonation!"

One by one, his soul rings exploded, their immense energy flowing into his weapon. The strength and pressure of the Clear Sky Hammer soared, overwhelming Jiang Mo's staff.

"So, you've decided to fight to the end, eh? Detonating your rings?" Jiang Mo grinned coldly. His own rings cracked one by one before erupting in bursts of energy, merging with his weapon.

"You detonate your rings—then I'll detonate mine!"

The explosion of his soul rings fused the power directly into his staff, and then he met Tang Ba head-on. Hammer and staff collided in midair, each strike echoing like thunder as surges of power rolled outward in storms of raw force.

"You—you can detonate your rings too?" Tang Zhen gasped from below.

"As you see," Jiang Mo said arrogantly. "Quite the fascinating technique, this 'Ring Detonation.' It suits my staff's martial spirit perfectly."

Damn it! Tang Zhen thought furiously. Which traitor leaked our sect's secret technique?

But there was no time to think—each man poured his strength into the duel. Both were Super Douluo at level 97; a single lapse meant death.

On the ground, Qian Jun and Guang Ling made no move to interfere, watching silently as the battle raged above—one red, one blue, hammer and staff crossing again and again in a symphony of violence.

"By the way," Guang Ling remarked, "the Clear Sky Sect disciples are heading toward the back mountain. Shouldn't we stop them?"

Qian Jun sighed. "Fifth Brother, you're just asking rhetorical questions. The Grand Worshipper ordered us not to wipe the sect out completely—leave a few survivors, that's all."

"Ah, right." Guang Ling shrugged. "Still, I don't quite get the point of that order. Shouldn't the roots be severed completely?"

He raised his bow, tightening the string. "Well, before that, let me have a little fun—let's start by hunting the healthiest rat among them."

He took aim at Tang Kai and loosed an arrow.

"Quick, this way!" Tang Kai shouted, leading the Clear Sky Sect disciples through the mountain pass. Tang Lie followed beside him, while Tang Xiao—crippled but still alive—was pushed in his wheelchair by several loyal disciples.

Tang Lie's voice dripped with hatred. "Damn that beast Tang Hao! If not for him, our Clear Sky Sect wouldn't be in ruins! This is all his fault!"

"Blaming him won't save us," Tang Kai replied. "We have to reach the ancestral land. That's the only safe place left!"

Tang Lie frowned. "Uncle Kai… do you really think Spirit Hall will honor Qian Daoliu's promise?"

Tang Kai hesitated. "They should. Qian Daoliu has always kept his word. His influence in Spirit Hall is absolute—his promise should still—"

Before he could finish, a piercing chill entered his chest. He froze mid-sentence as an icy arrow pierced through his heart. The cold spread instantly through his veins, encasing his body in frost before he collapsed lifelessly.

Tang Lie stared at him, realization dawning with horror. His eyes reddened; his voice broke into a scream. "Uncle Kai!"

More arrows rained down.

"Run! Keep running!" one disciple screamed.

That single shout shattered what little discipline the fleeing group had left. The orderly formation devolved into chaos—disciples tripped and stumbled, trampling each other in panic. The mountain path became a scene of carnage.

"Fifth Brother," Qian Jun called out, "don't overdo it. Some of those people are on the Grand Worshipper's list—we're not supposed to kill them."

Guang Ling stuck out his tongue in mock playfulness. "Relax! My aim is flawless. I never miss my target. There's no such thing as accidentally shooting a rat."
