A week passed for Felix on the return journey as he returned to Magnolia. While he stepped off the train onto a familiar platform, he saw a pink-haired teen and blue cat at the ticket counter arguing with a shirtless teen.
"Natsu, Grey, what's up the two of you?"
"Felix, this stripper here stepped on my foot." Natsu replied.
"Flame Brain, I told you it wasn't me." Grey replied.
Upon hearing the issue at hand, Felix lost interest since these two always clash. They were similar to Erza and Mirajane in that they tend to clash often with each other. Still, despite clashing, they would be the first one running if the other is in trouble.
"Just remember you're not at the guild." Felix said and walked off.
His jester hat lightly jingled as he left the station and walked the familiar streets. A few greeted him as he walked by their shop such as a dessert shop. There he is a bit of a frequent customer as he tends to pick up a few desserts for his friends fairly often.
--
Soon Felix arrived at the Fairy Tail building and saw the banner hanging proudly at the front. Pushing open the door, he first noticed the guild brawling once more. Then saw his sight growing darker as Erza kicked away Mirajane. Thus as she was folded like an arrow, she shot straight at him filling his sight full of her round perky butt.
Felix stepped to the side and caught her in a light spin with one arm under her knees while the other against her back. His palm held the side of her chest and remembered Master Makarov actions. Thus he gave it a light couple squeeze feeling her softness between his fingers as Mirajane recovered.
She quickly glared at who caught her, but upon seeing it was Felix, she just let out a huff and rolled out of his arms. There was a light flush on her cheeks at his actions, but didn't say anything to him. Instead she seemed to send a quick death glare at Master Makarov.
"Welcome back, Felix." Mirajane said as she adjusted her clothes. "Did your quest go well?"
"Mmm." Felix nodded to her. "Did your mission go well?"
"Natually." Mirajane replied as she flexed an arm.
After giving Erza a quick hello, Felix went to the counter where he handed over the slip. Master Makarov nodded as he marked it down for him. The Master wore his bright jester outfit, but had placed his hat before him blocking most views of the magazine he was reading. After all, on the cover was a pretty mage in a bikini modeling.
"So how was your mission? Not as exciting as your usual one." Makarov smiled.
"Only six died this time." Felix replied.
"It was just studying a stone mask wasn't it?" Makarov looked baffled.
Felix nodded then decided to tell the series of events for the Master who looked curious. So, he began telling about how seven years ago Dio went to live with the Joestar family. Then while there he attempted to poison George Joestar to take the family fortune. Once his plan unraveled, he put on the stone mask that was being studied and turned into a vampire. Thus leading to the series of deaths of George, a few guards and a Fortune Teller who tried to escape and died after killing one guard.
It was a bit later Felix learned of that incident with the Fortune Teller, but he decided to include it.
"If I am not wrong, the request was just to study that stone mask. How did it turn into such a series of events?" Makarov said. "What did you guys do with the mask afterwards?"
"We did study. Just not the way we intended to study it. Who knew that the mask could turn someone into a vampire." Felix shrugged. "We destroyed that mask not long after putting out the fire though."
"Good job." Makarov approved of that decision.
Then he began to act a bit strange as he kept glancing away. He was like a small child who broke his toy or did something wrong and didn't know when he would be found out. So, Felix just stared at him since he felt like this feeling was directed at him.
Unable to wait for Makarov to say it after twenty minutes, he finally asked.
"Is there something wrong, Master?"
"Haha," Makarov let out a soft laugh. "Well, I know you just came back, but I need you to head out on another request."
"Ok." Felix just nodded.
Besides taking a relaxing bath with his friends, he would probably just take on another request in a few days. Since Master Makarov is asking, he will just postpone that bath with them. He will just have something more to talk about then.
"Felix." Makarov looked tear stricken at him accepting the request.
"What is the request?" Felix asked.
Hearing Felix words, Makarov put away his playfulness as he took a sip of his drink. He grew more serious as if this is a difficult request to do.
"The request is to track down and solve a curse doll. Besides the children who tend to be left unharmed physically. Each time this doll appears in a new home, the adults are killed. From the accounts it is a doll that seems alive and tends to befriend the children, gaining their trust before killing their parents and others."
"Wouldn't someone specializing in curse breaking be better at this?" Felix asked. "While I know a bit about the subject, I am not a master in this area."
"Normally, but due to one event or another, each time this doll is destroyed, it comes back. Finally, due to your title Death Bringer, where deaths tend to follow wherever you go. Someone requested you to solve it once and for all. They hope you live up to this title and end the problem once and for all."
Makarov looked a bit guilty at that part. The title really didn't have much to do with Felix's direct actions but a product of his uncanny ability to uncover corpses. He felt a bit unsure about sending him, but since it is his old friend Yajima asking and knowing the trouble Fairy Tail causes. It is kind of hard to reject this request.
"Alright, where am I going?"
Makarov seemed to smile as he handed over a slip of paper. When Felix read the city name, he nodded as he got up from the counter and grabbed his bag. After saying goodbye, he headed to the door.
"Heading home already?" Mirajane asked.
"Mission." Felix answered.
"Didn't you just get back." Mirajane huffed.
"Yeah. I should be back in a few days." Felix replied.
"Then we will spar then." Mirajane said, holding out her fist. "I have improved since last time. So you better prepare yourself."
Felix placed his fist against hers agreeing to her words. Then he left the guild he only just returned to and headed to the train station. After scanning the schedule, he soon spotted the train he needed and bought a ticket.
"Chicago, huh." Felix looked at the slip as he sat down.
He found the names of cities in this world strange but luckily it is only a two day journey compared to his last mission. So as he relaxed in a waiting chair, he cracked open a book and began to read.
--
Time passed by and soon the train he needed began to board. So closing his book, he stepped onto the train to begin another mission.
