Just as Uchiha En was about to greet Kakashi, he noticed the Three-Tomoe Sharingan in Kakashi's eyes.
Uchiha En was stunned for a moment, then immediately realized that Obito and Kakashi must have awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan by now, and Rin Nohara must also be dead.
Minato Namikaze was clearly not in a good state, but he forced a smile and asked Uchiha En for the specific details of the mission. After confirming everything was fine, he allowed Uchiha En to leave.
Just as Uchiha En and Shisui were about to leave the Hokage Office, Minato Namikaze suddenly called out to them: "En, wait a moment."
"Hokage-sama, is there anything else?" Uchiha En asked, turning around.
"En, you are a member of the Uchiha Clan, so you should know the reasons and rules for Sharingan evolution. Kakashi is not an Uchiha. Will his Sharingan evolving from Two Tomoe to Three Tomoe have any negative effects on him?"
"It shouldn't. It will just increase his Chakra consumption slightly. Kakashi will need to be more frugal when using Chakra in the future."
Hearing Uchiha En's words, Minato Namikaze visibly relaxed.
Obito and Rin Nohara were already dead; he didn't want anything to happen to his last remaining disciple, Kakashi.
"In that case, Hokage-sama, if there's nothing else, I'll take my leave."
Minato Namikaze nodded and turned his gaze toward Kakashi.
After leaving the Hokage Office, Uchiha En saw Shisui home, and then went to Orochimaru's laboratory.
Orochimaru's main focus during this period was still researching the White Zetsu corpse. When he hit a research bottleneck, he would occasionally dissect the corpses of Bloodline Limit Ninja from other Villages to change his mood.
The more he researched, the more interested Orochimaru became in the White Zetsu; this creature was truly marvelous.
"Orochimaru-sama, Asana, have there been any new developments in your research these past two days?" Uchiha En asked the busy Orochimaru and Asana.
Hearing Uchiha En's voice, Asana stopped her research and said, "En, based on the analysis my teacher and I conducted over the past two days, we found that the internal structure of this corpse is very similar to that of a human. Teacher Orochimaru even suspects that it was once human, but was transformed into this state by some method."
Uchiha En was somewhat surprised to hear this. He hadn't expected Orochimaru to be able to deduce that the White Zetsu was once human just by studying its corpse.
Seeing Uchiha En's expression, Asana assumed he was just as incredulous as she had been when Orochimaru first mentioned it.
"En, you might find it unbelievable, but based on multiple sets of genetic comparisons, there is a greater than 90% chance that this corpse was human," Orochimaru added.
Uchiha En, having read the original work, knew the origin of the White Zetsu well: they were indeed once human, the product of Ōtsutsuki Kaguya releasing the Infinite Tsukuyomi upon humanity back then.
The fact that Orochimaru could even figure this out gave Uchiha En a new appreciation for his scientific capabilities.
"Orochimaru-sama, now that you've confirmed this guy was once human, how is that useful to us?" Uchiha En asked, changing the subject.
"Of course it's useful. Leaving aside everything else, we might be able to learn his unique Transformation Jutsu," Orochimaru replied, licking his lips.
Uchiha En's eyes lit up at the mention of this. The White Zetsu had many special abilities in the original work. If they could truly learn these techniques, they would be incredibly useful, wouldn't they?
