After the invigilator instructed them to carry on, Angel continued writing, her pen moving across the paper while her thoughts drifted to the girl who had been coughing earlier. She silently hoped she would be alright.
Hours passed. The exam slowly came to an end, and students began submitting their papers one by one.
Sarah was already waiting by the door for Angel. As soon as Angel reached her, Sarah immediately began recounting the earlier incident from her perspective, describing everything she had seen.
Afterward, the two of them headed downstairs to get water. The area was busy, filled with students moving about, but Angel kept pace quietly while Sarah talked.
Later, they went to a teacher's office, someone they were close to, and sat inside enjoying the cool air from the AC.
Sarah couldn't stop talking about David, excitedly describing how handsome he was. Angel simply looked at her, listening silently, not caring whether Sarah thought she was jealous or not.
They both returned to the hall after leaving the office to take their next paper. The students were busy rearranging chairs and tables after the break. By the time Angel entered, she noticed Sarah rushing toward her with obvious excitement.
Before Angel could say anything, Sarah squealed with happiness.
"You won't believe it!" Sarah exclaimed. "The place was so crowded, barely any space to pass, and David… he was literally so close to me as he passed by!"
Angel listened as Sarah continued.
"And then—he quickly apologized! He said, 'I'm literally sorry,' as he looked at me!"
Angel felt a pang in her heart. She didn't want to feel it, didn't want to let it affect her, but it was impossible to control.
